I developed an itchy rash under one armpit a couple weeks ago. I started putting a steroid cream on it and it made the itching stop only when I use it (it itches again when I stop) but the rash/red bumps seem to be spreading. Does anyone know what this could be? Has anyone else had this happen?
I am a college football player and I wear compression gear a lot for practices and working out. Every year I get a rash in my armpit area that burns and gets red, and it seems to come up when I wear under armour type shirts. On July 8th, Saturday, a very painful rash developed under my left Arm Pit, to the left of where the hair is. One day later, the same kind of rash developed under the right arm pit, to the right of where the hair is. Both Rashes are circular, reddish/purplish, and they burn when I put Hydrocortisone cream on. I began applying this cream on Sunday, July 9th. The rashes are not itchy, but they burn. They also appear to have small bumps or pimples contained therein.

Hi, I am a 16 year old female and I just started to develop a strange rash under my left and right armpit. It is very itchy and it is hard to resist from itching it. There are red blotches which seem to be dry skin. A few pimple-looking bumps show up under my armpits as well, and I really want to know what this is. I have tried 1% Hydrocortisone Cream and Johnston's Baby Moisturizing Cream and none of these have had a full on great effect. Can anyone help?
I have been in Brazil for the past 2 years and I developed an armpit rash, actually, it was a rash that started out around the buttocks, stomach, thighs and looks just like a pimple, red, itchs like crazy and with a yellow watery center. I was given a cream called Bi-Nerizona and it makes it go away within 3-4 days. It has now returned under my left armpit and if I stop using the cream, it will come right back, however, not itchy as before. What the heck is it?
I have skin colored bumps under my left armpit only in an outline of the backside of the armpit to directly underneath. It has not spread and i was on Follical medicene but that did nothing to clear up the rash. The bumps if squeezed are almost pimple like at times and at other times not? I know i should see a Dermo but i don't have insurance right now so i'm looking for any possible suggestions on what this could be thanks in advance.

I have devloped something under my armpit akin to a rash. I'm honestly not sure if it is a rash since I've not had or seen one like this. It's pink in the middle surrounded by a red ring. It's moist in the middle and it produces an awful smell. There's also slight irritation when i move my arm and it makes contact with other skin.
I have a rash under both of my armpits. Unlike most people on here who have had a rash there, my rash does not itch at all. However, it does sting/burn when i stretch my arms out. It's started to scab and flake which i take as a sign of healing. Does anyone have any idea what's causing my problem? If so, how do i treat it?
It's a little hard to say, as I don't know what your rash looks like, but first I would advise you stop shaving under your arms until the rash is gone. I know it sounds crazy, but I've had to do it in the past for similar reactions and it's worth it in the end. I would say try using Benedryl cream or Hydrocortisone cream. I prefer Benedryl over Hydrocortisone, but use whichever you think is best. Be especially kind to the area until the rash is gone.
My six year old has kept a rash in her armpit the majority of the time that we have been here. The rash is red and itchy and comes and goes. It is only under one arm. I thought it was contact dermatitis, but she also has developed hard clear bumps about the size of the ball of a pen on the medial surface of her upper harm. about 1mm? There are about 12, but they are increasing in number and size gradually. No fever or any other signs. And nothing on the other arm.

Hi, around April of this year, I develop a severe burning, reddish rash under both armpits simultaneously. Because of the pain/burning, I made the stupid mistake of scratching the area constantly, which developed into leathery plaques that are itchy (the dermatologist referred to this as "lichen simplex chronicus"....fast forward to December, and the rash comes and goes (some of the itchy plaques still remain)....does that sound like an HIV rash?
