When a cat is 7 yrs and up, you should keep an eye on those conditions, as well as diabetes. Good luck to ya!!
That can pre-dispose you to diabetes. So depending on the severity of your diabetes, you should consult with your physician who knows your entire history and medications, your weight, and the factors involved that cause diabetes and see if he/she can give you probable cause.
I also have other symptoms like fever, sore throat, fatigue, some aches (knees, foot, back), an itchy rash (red spots mostly on chest, neck and stomach) that appeared initially but now has gone, although I still get some isolated itchy spots now and then. And most recently and worryingly some white patches on the tongue and sometimes looks withered. This is most evident in the morning when my mouth feels dry. Throughout the day however, I drink water and the tongue looks slightly better.
I have an itchy rash that started under my arms and has spread to my back, neck, arms, and stomach. I went to dr and he gave me prednisone but today is the 10th day on it and the rash has not budged. I have not used a different soap shampoo or soap powder. I use ivory soap, borax soap powder (pure), and a scoriasis shampoo I have been using for a while without any problems. I did buy a comforter and the next morning I woke up itching but this has been going on for 2 wks now.
i was recently diagnosed too with adrenal insufficiency and hypothyroidism too. I have this rash on my neck as well and it is becoming somewhat painful.. I am on daily dose of hydrocortisone and DHEA. Does anyone have any suggestions of what i can put on this annoying rash... My doctor thinks it could be the meds but warns i must continue to take them. Ugh......
I have had this on my neck near my collar bone (orginal site) eight years ago, on both legs, and on my arms. At this time I have a rash on my left arm, under side and on my trunk on the rib area. Yes, they do correspond in area. The rash looks like a contact dermititis would look. I use benadryl and steriodal cream with moderate success. I have been perscribed steriods in the past but, this nearly threw me into diabetes so I would like not to take them again.
Hello, One of the possibilities for your symptoms is atopic dermatitis. Atopic allergy is a type of immediate hypersensitivity in humans resulting from spontaneous sensitization, usually by inhaled or ingested antigens; for example, asthma, hay fever, or hives. Diagnosis of allergies is done by skin ***** or patch tests and confirmation is done by blood tests like RAST. The most important treatment for allergies is avoidance of the allergen.
These help with pain, but I have developed an itchy, unremitting rash on my right shoulder and should probably stop taking meds to see if any of them are causing it? I tried glucosamine but the pain and cracking remained and sometimes my head hurts on the right side too. I also have Hashimoto’s (TPO antibodies over 1,000) take 75mcg Levoxyl per day. There is a 1.2cm nodule on the right side of thyroid- it was ruled benign after biopsy.
I guess my main concern and i know the coincidence is my wife now has a throat infection, rash on neck, she went to doctor and she was told she doesn't get strep , she is a carrier or something like that..I am so far confident all this is a test for me being such an *** and putting myself in this situation. * week neg is a good sign im sure my 11 week i took today will be negative...i pray...but are you or anyone else aware if being diabetic will cause a false negative....
This past week I have been developing symptoms that indicate HIV and I am going crazy with worry. First, I had a rash on my upper chest, part of neck and stomach. Tiny red itchy spots that were initially raised but disappeared within a day or two. Well, they are flat now, harldy visible but sometimes itch if I scratch them.
I also have very bad itching around my arm pits, neck, legs, feet, and arms. There is no rash, but I have noticed small skin colored bumps on my fingers and toes occasionally (I have seen about 5 bumps total). I have had my liver tested, but it is healthy. I have used various anti-itch creams including hydrocortisone based products and benadryl, but they have no effect.

My aunt has been a diabetic DM1 for many years, She has rash/small ulcers that itch and bleed that covers her body except her head and neck they are especially on her arms and legs. It seems as if she always has them. Could there be an association between this skin problem and her diabetes? She is desperate to find out what they are and there etiology.
I also had my blood drawn, because my doctor said that there is a skin rash that is found under the arm ( pit), and the rash is associated with diabetes. My blood work came back, and I am NOT diabetic, so the limits what the rash is even more. It is red and really soft, almost like velvet. It has turned almost a brownish color, but still has not gone completely away. I hope me response helps you find out more about the underarm rash that you have.
For about 2 - 2 1/2 years now I've had this brownish skin discoloration under my breasts, inner thighs next to pelvic area, small spot under arm and small spots on the back of my neck. The inner thighs and breasts is where it began. It started as small spots like dime size then filled out into large areas. It stays a light brown color and has a faint smell under my breasts. If I get hot and sweaty, sometimes it will get bright red, burn, itch and tingle.
He is Geno 1b, Mexican American and his Diabetes and a rather sizable spider angioma (on his face and neck that had been there since I have known him) both cleared up during treatment. He needed Procrit, Neupogen and a few other meds fairly early and his platelets and liver enzymes fluctuated throughout treatment. This is an anecdotal account of someone who felt the odds were stacked against him and took a calculated risk.
Mike you know I didn't take the Vertex but I also got the riba rash on the underwear lines...anywhere my skin really rubbed on the fabric. The sides to me were the worst for some reason (and my hips) I still have the damn scars. I'm so sorry you're having any sort of rash at all. It's so bad and people just don't 'get it'. Hopefully one our Vertexers will come around.
My most immediate problem I am covered from neck to ankles with a rash that has hives and postules that itch like nothing I can even explain. This rash has been going on for about 15 weeks. I have been to 3 different dermatologists and no relief. I have been treated with everything from predisone to dapsone ( for 2.5 weeks with no relief ). Was should I be getting checked for and what can I do to relief this itch....If I don't get some relief soon I may lose my mind.
I've been sick for awhile (2yrs) with extreme fatigue, swollen joints, essential tremor favoring my left arm, occasional night sweats, general feeling of malaise, bad headaches, inability to concentrate, brain fog, muscle weakness, dizziness, and ventricular tachycardia, mostly attributed to subclinical hypothyroidism, yet my symptoms haven't gone away despite thyroid hormone treatment and normal TSH levels, so I think something else is going on...I'm just not sure what.
How much selenium do people take to relievve the fullness in the neck due to Hashimotos.
I was treated with 2 heavy duty antibiotics that worked for awhile and then the rash took off again, I am now on IV antibiotics and doing well. It is clearing up quickly, I am on day 3 of 10. I did find RELIEF FROM THE ITCHING!! A friend had a rash with terrible itching and passed on her answer to the problem. I used ARNICA MONTANA GEL which is purchased from my local natural health store.
For years now I've had a rash type thing on my neck. The rash basically goes from ear to ear and is right below my beard where I shave. It has never itched unless I don't shave and then it does itch. I have tried using different types of shaving cream and aftershave lotions with aloe and that hasn't helped any. I'm wondering if there is a specific cream that could get rid of this? I can take a picture if that would help. Thanks!
I am a 41 year old female. I have adult onset diabetes (NOT under control - running about 180 after fasting), high Blood pressure (under control with Lisinopril) depression, (under control with Amitriptyline) I've never had a problem with acne. I've also never been good at sticking to a daily cleansing of my face. (I've used Mary Kay, Avon, etc but never stuck to it) I've pretty much always just used hot water in the shower. No soap, nothing. This is the first time that I have had any problems.
