I've taken Ranitidine sporadically for years, and have never associated it with arrhythmia. However, the perhaps reason you're taking Ranitidine, namely GERD has been associated with arrhythmia. I don't have it, but my husband is a long time sufferer. Sleep with your head elevated, eat 5-6 small meals, alternate liquids and solids, drink a glass of milk, use Tums, don't eat within 1-2 hours of bed. If it continues, tally with your doc or midwife about prescription antacid.

If still you are not responding reevaluation is needed and 24 hours pH monitoring test may be done for confirmation. Sometimes it could be due to bile reflux and the treatment is different.
If acid reflux is confirmed and not responding to medical therapy then surgery might have to be done.
I would also suggest that esophageal manometry be done to rule out esophageal spasms which can cause similar symptoms.
