zantac

Avatar m tn In order to treat Acid Reflux/GERD I have been taking Ranitidine/Zantac per doctors advice. I started developing various side effects several months ago. To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so.
Avatar n tn Have ordered Rupatadine/Rupafin from Canada. Trying to find info about possible side effects, esp hair loss (yes I am vain). Could only find a couple studies on the internet. Any help is appreciated.
520191 tn?1355635402 Wow...that's awful! While I never had a reaction like Freddie's....I do believe Ranitidine made me persistently nauseous for an entire year straight. I've had GERD, a hiatal hernia and stomach problems for years. After a long stint with Nexium, I decided to get on a non-PPI and something more minor. Ranitidine was the suggestion. Though I've always struggled with nausea here and there....for a year of my life I struggled with nausea constantly. Almost every single day.
Avatar f tn Some are great doctors and some are not, so like anything, you need to ask around. Medications all cause side effects. You have to weight the risks of the meds to the risk of the problem. Most the medications side effects are not listed in the list they give you and most doctors have NO idea and go by the pamphlet from the sales people.
Avatar n tn com/sfx/ranitidine-side-effects.html. However, I have never seen a drug in which this was not the case. I read one report that studied 259 people taking this drug. Of those people, 3 reported missed beats. That would be a normal report from the gen populations. PVC causes can be so individual that maybe it is, but it is not a normal side effect. However, I have spoken with many, many people who get PVC's from acid reflux if that is what you are taking it for.
Avatar n tn Hi I have had severe Hives for 2 mos. This is the worse outbreak I've ever had, and my last case of Hives was 9 yrs ago. I was in the ER 2x this past month, put on IV steroids, antihistamines & Ranitidine. I had extensive blood work done for a multitude of alleries- all negative, Lupus, Lympoma, Lymes disease, CAT scan, all negative. I've done 2 rounds of Presnisone (which helped greatly), but 2 days after the last Prednisone pill- boom the hives came back bad.
Avatar f tn How much time we need to continue this medication? Any known side effects of Levipil for infants?
Avatar m tn The next day I went back to the doctor and she said the x Ray showed I had lots of stool and prescribed Miralax and ranitidine because she thought the abdominal pain was caused by acid. I took Miralax for two weeks and it stopped the bloating I had a follow up on April 7th. Before the follow up I went on that Monday because I had blood in my stool the emergency Doctor of the clinic said it was an anal fissure and increased the miralax to three caps.
Avatar f tn The pepcid ac duel action chewables (expensive but are great!) are the best for me with 150-300mg of ranitidine a day if I'm not watching my diet. I'm convinced most people get heart burn like me because of a sensitivity or allergy to gluten. People just won't commit to not eating wheat barley and rye flour and all the foods that contain it...yes, flour tortillas, bread, beer, pizza crust, pancakes and most everything else that's bad for you.
1088529 tn?1256844030 I've just started taking zantac, and I don't know if I'll have any side effects, or if my regular symptoms (stomach pain, upset stomach) will become apparent or come back. My question is this; if I get nauseous, stomach pain, upset stomach etc. as a side effect or other, can I take tums to calm my stomach down? Or will it just make things worse? I can't talk to my doctor because (a) don't have an appointment and (b) am too young to drive there or get an appointment myself.
Avatar f tn I too get heartburn late at night and it gets worse laying on my left side and my remedy has been been a box of water ice lol but thanx again for this tip

Avatar f tn I too was prescribed zantac (Ranitidine) and I began taking them last week for nausea and was having light chest pain.( Less serious Zantac side effects may include:headache (may be severe);drowsiness, dizziness;sleep problems (insomnia);decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm; or swollen or tender breasts (in men);nausea, vomiting, stomach pain; or diarrhea or constipation so yes those are some of the side effects your having.
Avatar f tn Your stomach upset may be due to celexa. Abdominal pain (stomach pain), Indigestion or heartburn, and Diarrhea are possible side effects of citalopram (celexa). If you're unsure about the drug interactions, you can call your physician or pharmacist.
Avatar f tn Three to four years ago, my pediatric had prescribed me 300 mg Ranitidine for heart burn. A few months later, a urgent care physician had prescribed me the same medicine. In total, I've taken two bottles of Ranitidine (approx 2 months worth of tablets). I've been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
1210142 tn?1266077031 No assimilation of Calcium, Vitamin Bs, Magnesium (which can affect your heart), increased broken hips... In summary, I would not worry for the interaction with Plavix, since probably you no longer need it, I would be very worry for taking them without a clear diagnostic or reason. If you have got a gastroscopy and they did not see the reason of your pain, chances are that you will get nothing from PPIs. If you have not got the gastroscopy, I would get it before going on PPIs for life.
Avatar m tn ve stopped taking the medication for the time being as the side effects were bothering me. I go back to my doctor the first week of August to hopefully find an alternative. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I put the new ring in on May 22 and I feel like I may be having some increased side effects since then. The first few weeks I was on it I had a lot of cramping that felt like menstrual cramps, but for the past couple of weeks I've had a lot of nausea. I work at a grocery store and one day I had to run to the back because I thought I was going to throw up; I didn't and I was fine the next day.
Avatar f tn Domperidone is taken 3 times daily before meak 30 mins.but Nexium brought lots of side effects for me.so the specialist switched it with Protonix20 same administer.after several days i have had it for 40mg.twice a day.i raised my bedhead 3"; now to 4".i still suffer from acidity erosion up to my mouth.i feel i have no life.
312330 tn?1245176752 After a while it started to lose its effectiveness, and got to the point where its side effects outweighed its benefits and so I was switched to ambien. I did great with ambien, but my insurance limits it...so for the time I was allowed, I split the dose and even slept well with 5mg....now that's no longer an option because of my insurance, so my doctor put me on temazepam 30mg, but it simply doesn't do anything for me.
Avatar f tn Why am i getting the chills and my whole left side feels like it's going to give out any minute. It feels like there is something going right through my heart straight to the back, tha's where all the pain is. It also effects my shoulder too. It also feels like I have indigestion and I have been having stomach problems for almost a whole week now. I am hoping that it's just a flu but the way it's going I think it's something else.
Avatar m tn However it is not advisable to use too much of steroid creams as it has plenty of side effects like skin atrophy, skin thinning, telangiectasia, steroid induced rosacea or redness. Use it only as per the prescription and have regular follow ups with your child’s doctor. Also the best treatment of eczema is use of moisturizers which should be applied in a thin layer on the eczematous patch.
