ve been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?

One way to “step down” off the therapy is to go from a PPI to a drug with less acid suppression like a standard-dose H2RA like ranitidine. Another approach is to merely stop taking drugs for GERD and see how you do. I do not think there is “maximum” amount of time you can be on therapy. Over a year ago i was given ranitidine for the treatment of GERD. Please don't tell me I missed that too, in spite of going back and reading again...........LOL It's possible that you have nodules that are leaking hormone independently of the thyroid gland itself. This can swing you from hypo to hyper very quickly.

Nothing works, have tried omeprazole, famotidine, reglan, antacids, ranitidine, and others. My lower throat feels like it cramps and I can't breathe, then the blood and oxygen rushing to deal with that makes my heart start pounding. t do anything for me. Other than the temazepm, I currently take Adderall, Zyrtec and Ranitidine. I never take my last dose of Adderall later than 5pm. I would appreciate any advice.

t doing well and you raised them on your own to see if it would help which is never a good idea? What is the dose that you are taking? What dose did you take today? I could give you some more information then. But more importantly if you are starting to feel sick then you might have taken above what is the reccomended maximum dosage and clearly you are encountering some side effects.

Talk to your dr about adding an H2 blocker like ranitidine (Zantac) taken at bed time. I also will take some Rolaids if I know I have broken one of the above rules or I am having breatk through. Maybe seeing a gastro-interologist would be a good idea at this point. It sounds like you should have a scope done to screen for barretts esophagus and hiatel hernia and a few other things. Now i am doubtful that i am pregnant as i removed my copper T recently. A few years ago my doctor put me on 75 mg Ranitidine to take twice a day before meals. A couple years ago he also put me on 20 mg Omeprazole to take once a day for 14 days, after which he said I could start taking the Ranitidine again if i still had the heartburn.
