Avatar n tn Can i do a allergy skin ***** test while actively suffering from a allergy. Would i get the correct results?
Avatar f tn After running routine physical exam, the doctor determined that my shortness of breath was do to acid relux. She started me on ranitidine. For 2 1/2 days I felt good. This morning I woke to an adrenaline rush. It lasted for 8 hours. I also had shortness of breath and I was really congested and my mouth really dry. I called the doctor and she just got back to me saying that ranitidine does not cause adrenaline rushes. She can't explain my shortness of breath. Could I have an allergy?
520191 tn?1355635402 Wow...that's awful! While I never had a reaction like Freddie's....I do believe Ranitidine made me persistently nauseous for an entire year straight. I've had GERD, a hiatal hernia and stomach problems for years. After a long stint with Nexium, I decided to get on a non-PPI and something more minor. Ranitidine was the suggestion. Though I've always struggled with nausea here and there....for a year of my life I struggled with nausea constantly. Almost every single day.
Avatar f tn I have 10 month old twin boys that were born 9 weeks early and have suffered from reflux since birth. They have been on domperidine, ranitidine and carobel ever since. We have managed to ween them from the domperidine which seemend to go ok only a little bit of sick. With advice from our paed we have recently taken them off the ranitidine but ever since they have been up all night , uncomfortable and suffering from a sever cough.
Avatar f tn Three to four years ago, my pediatric had prescribed me 300 mg Ranitidine for heart burn. A few months later, a urgent care physician had prescribed me the same medicine. In total, I've taken two bottles of Ranitidine (approx 2 months worth of tablets). I've been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
Avatar f tn The pepcid ac duel action chewables (expensive but are great!) are the best for me with 150-300mg of ranitidine a day if I'm not watching my diet. I'm convinced most people get heart burn like me because of a sensitivity or allergy to gluten. People just won't commit to not eating wheat barley and rye flour and all the foods that contain it...yes, flour tortillas, bread, beer, pizza crust, pancakes and most everything else that's bad for you.
Avatar f tn Get tested for gluten allergy. It's very common these days. There are about 250 different possible symptoms. I had a friend who had GERD symptoms as her only problem. If you do have a problem with gluten, like Celiac disease, you will feel better when you stop eating gluten AND save yourself from all sorts of other autoimmune diseases down the road. It may annoy you to change your eating, but it will be worth it. Hope you find the problem, whatever it is.

2006603 tn?1331329327 My son has the milk protein allergy so he is on Similac Alimentum. We give him gas drops and he sleeps in a cradle swing so hes not laying flat on his back. I just dont know what im going to do if medicaid wont pay for his ranitidine. He's already had a pretty rough start in life, he had to have surgery on August 9th because he had pyloric stentosis (sp?), he had the milk protein allergy, he has night time colic and now i cant get his ranitidine until oct which helps him wonders.
338416 tn?1420045702 So I've noticed something interesting since I stopped taking Copaxone. Last year, while I was taking Copaxone, I would have the worst time with injury. If I bit my tongue on the side, it swelled up. If the dog managed to whack me on the lip, that would swell up too. Mosquito bites were the worst - the area would swell up and hurt. The swelling was all out of proportion to the injury. The doctor said it was angioedema, caused by injury, but couldn't find a cause.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've been choking since a year now. It is thick clear, sometimes white mucus that literally gets stuck to your hand. When choking it out it gets stuck and makes it hard to be breathe. In between I've had episodes where for two weeks I vomited anything I ate but that got better with time. For about 3 months now, the choking has gotten worse; I can't swallow simple things like carrots or even fennel seeds and end up gagging them back out.
Avatar f tn I suggest you to consult an allergist and get allergy tests like skin allergy tests( skin ***** and patch tests) and blood tests like RAST done. If it is due to an allergic reaction, then prevention of that allergen is the best treatment. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn i wake up in the middle of the night coughing non stop for about thirty minutes...all the while i have clear dripping from my nose. Then i fall asleep and i am fine. what is this?
Avatar f tn I had this issue, too, and finally my allergy doctor told me that not everything labled hypoallergenic is actually hypoallergenic. Sometimes, according to my doctor, there is actually wool in creams-- Eucerin, according to my allergist, is one of the worst. Have you tried Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing Lotion? That is the only cream that I can use and not get an allergic reaction. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I have been suffering from dermatographia for the last 10 months. I have been on prednisone and 6 different anti histamines that barely help. I've went to 3 immunologist and a dermatologist and everyone tells me there isnt much they can do to find the cause of the problem. They seemed to get worse everytime after prednisone was prescribed. I've been on an anti inflammatory diet, keto diet, candida diet, leaky gut diet, alkaline diet, detox (Green juice) diet and those didnt work either.
Avatar f tn Now i am doubtful that i am pregnant as i removed my copper T recently. I am under treatment for stomach inflammation. i am taking ranitidine 150 twice daily for the last 2 months and buscopan when i have stomach pain. i take antacid when have heartburn if i happen to eat anything which is not suitable for my present stomach condition. pls tell me, is it safe to take those medicines if i am pregnant? or do i have to abort if i am pregnant? i am very much worried....thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn After taking that, I still have had bad acid reflux and GERD, so the Gastro doctor put me on a few medicines for acid - finally resulting in ranitidine which worked the best. I was around 220lbs at the time, for reference. After that I was healthy for a while so long as I took the ranitidine, only having minor nausea. I was only needing 75mg at the time.
Avatar n tn A couple years ago he also put me on 20 mg Omeprazole to take once a day for 14 days, after which he said I could start taking the Ranitidine again if i still had the heartburn.
Avatar f tn Some studies have linked EBV with Hashimoto's, but there's nothing conclusive. Some doctors have felt that Fibromyalgia is, basically, un or under-treated hypothyroidism, since Fibro and hypothyroidism share many symptoms and many/most of the symptoms go away if the patient is treated adequately with thyroid hormones.
