Avatar n tn com/sfx/ranitidine-side-effects.html. However, I have never seen a drug in which this was not the case. I read one report that studied 259 people taking this drug. Of those people, 3 reported missed beats. That would be a normal report from the gen populations. PVC causes can be so individual that maybe it is, but it is not a normal side effect. However, I have spoken with many, many people who get PVC's from acid reflux if that is what you are taking it for.
2006603 tn?1331329327 Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I am 33w4d and yesterday my doc prescribed me 150mg tablets to take twice a day for heartburn. Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I just want to make sure its safe.
520191 tn?1355635402 Wow...that's awful! While I never had a reaction like Freddie's....I do believe Ranitidine made me persistently nauseous for an entire year straight. I've had GERD, a hiatal hernia and stomach problems for years. After a long stint with Nexium, I decided to get on a non-PPI and something more minor. Ranitidine was the suggestion. Though I've always struggled with nausea here and there....for a year of my life I struggled with nausea constantly. Almost every single day.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Choices for a generic over the counter antacid just got smaller as the drug maker of generic ranitidine under the brand name of Zantac has pulled distribution of the medication world wide. Last week the FDA stated they found cancer causing chemicals in some samples taken from batches of generic rantitidine or Zantac. https://www.fda.
Avatar m tn //www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-updates-and-press-announcements-ndma-zantac-ranitidine and here is the info on safety. https://www.fda.gov/safety/medical-product-safety-information/zantac-ranitidine-safety-information-ndma-found-samples-some-ranitidine-medicines. They didn't tell people to stop taking it at that time. I would personally not worry about taking it previously. Hope that helps.
Avatar n tn I now take 2 omeprazole a day, 4 domperidone--a motility drug, and a Zantac before bed. I have tried ginger capsules and all kinds of natural supplements, plus tums, etc. Any suggestions? I have had a bezoar when digestion just stopped, gall bladder out--infection in that. I feel like I have morning sickness all the time!

Avatar f tn Is this a prescription drug? Definitely going to look into it.
Avatar m tn This is a developing story. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is still investigating whether these chemical impurities are at a high enough level to be a health risk. For the latest updates, please visit: https://www.fda.
Avatar n tn Nothing works, have tried omeprazole, famotidine, reglan, antacids, ranitidine, and others. My lower throat feels like it cramps and I can't breathe, then the blood and oxygen rushing to deal with that makes my heart start pounding. I am wondering: is there anything I can suggest to my doctors to look at next, or another drug I can try since the only thing that gives me relief is sublingual nitroglycerin and I go through 100 of those a month ? Thanks for ANY suggestions, I am desperate.
1518347 tn?1290837751 I feel bloated for a week now. I have been taking ranitidine 150mg 2x a day. It doesn't seem to work. Also, I am not able to breathe properly. I have a history of asthma. Avatar n tn A few years ago my doctor put me on 75 mg Ranitidine to take twice a day before meals. A couple years ago he also put me on 20 mg Omeprazole to take once a day for 14 days, after which he said I could start taking the Ranitidine again if i still had the heartburn.
Avatar n tn All 3 meds mentioned are class C drugs, which means none have been tested on pregnant women, but have shown to cause defomities or problems in laboratory animals. I would strongly think twice about getting pregnant while being on all of these meds. Ask yourself if the benefits out weigh the risks.
Avatar f tn Some studies have linked EBV with Hashimoto's, but there's nothing conclusive. Some doctors have felt that Fibromyalgia is, basically, un or under-treated hypothyroidism, since Fibro and hypothyroidism share many symptoms and many/most of the symptoms go away if the patient is treated adequately with thyroid hormones.
Avatar n tn He is behind his peers. He is also the youngest in his class. Prior teachers have mentioned his short attention span. He has no behavior problems. I have spent 3 entire days researching so I am fully prepared for his doctor appointment next week. I want to rule out any other causes for his attention. If he is diagnosed with ADD, I want to try everything before drugs.
Avatar f tn What are the odds of those of us that are suffering from from tooth decay and paying outrageously for doctors appointments, prescriptions, and now dentists and dental bills, what do we need or have to do to begin a class action lawsuit? Four members of my family have been on subutex for about 6 years some for general pain and some for addiction and we all have the same issues with decaying teeth and such. Our doctor has no means of tapering us off but we all have started ourselves.
Avatar m tn In order to treat Acid Reflux/GERD I have been taking Ranitidine/Zantac per doctors advice. I started developing various side effects several months ago. To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so.
Avatar n tn 8 atarax 25 mg each, 1 doxepin 25mg at bedtime and two zyrtec 10mg each, one ranitidine 300 mg) they have not been able to do much. And none of the meds made me tired. My internist was concerened about all the meds I was taking so have gotten off of everything except 5 atarax/day. Tried to stop the atarax completely but w/in 2 days hives came back w/ a vengence. Have ordered Rupatadine/Rupafin from Canada. Trying to find info about possible side effects, esp hair loss (yes I am vain).
Avatar n tn 1) Ranitidine is a very mild drug and is often not very useful. There are more powerful drugs available over the counter such as Prilosec OTC ( Omeprazole 20 mg). If you are heavy (over 85kg) you may need to take 2 tablets (20 X 2 = 40mg) per day. This will help with heartburn but not nausea. 2) For nausea, try Domperidone 10 mg. IF this is not available in your country, try Bismuth Salicylate (Pepto Bismol). This is mild as well.
Avatar f tn With my first bb i never took a birthing class n i was gonna do it without the epadural too but the pain was so unbearable to where i had to get it!
Avatar m tn Meanwhile take sips of cold milk, antacid gel, and an acid reducing medication like ranitidine. Drink plenty of water to help flush out the drugs after you have been to the ER. It is important to show to a doctor as you may be given activated charcoal and other medications to absorb and flush out the excess drug. The pain may just be due to acidity, however, the pain can also be due to mild perforation in the stomach caused by excess acid.
408795 tn?1324935675 ), what typically happens is they get out on parole, fail the terms of parole (as drug tested during parole), serve out entire sentence, then go straight back to drug use. Unless prisioners are drug tested and can prove they are clean, I don't see the point in treatment, the odds of reinfection are just too high IMO.
Avatar f tn Zantac or the generic ranitidine, my Dr gave me the ok on Monday because everything I eat gives me bad heartburn
