Avatar m tn You should talk to your doctor again and see if he can tell you what the gastritis is caused by because if you don't have H pylori anymore then you shouldn't have gastritis. The treatment for gastritis depends on what is causing the gastritis. I have not had gastritis before. Here is what a website says about the treatment for gastritis: Over-the-counter antacids in liquid or tablet form are a common treatment for mild gastritis.
Avatar f tn I am 36 weeks tomorrow. I have had problems going to the bathroom my entire life. I'm used to being constipated and having to push to go #2. But due to being pregnant and a certain medication I'm on, the constipation is much worse. It gets stuck and I rip and bleed almost every time I go. And I can only go every 5-7 days or so. With 2-3 of those days trying to go. Btw, I do take Colace everyday. So my fiancé suggested I drink a bottle of citrate.
Avatar f tn ve been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
Avatar m tn Bismuth subsalicylate, this is found in the pink liquid product called Pepto Bismo or Kaopectate, and a few others so check the label. The Bismuth and give a low level allergic reaction that shows up as a black stool and/or a black tongue and mouth. The good news is that it goes away 3-5 days after you stop uses those products.

Avatar n tn A few years ago my doctor put me on 75 mg Ranitidine to take twice a day before meals. A couple years ago he also put me on 20 mg Omeprazole to take once a day for 14 days, after which he said I could start taking the Ranitidine again if i still had the heartburn.
Avatar f tn Bismuth oxychloride is sometimes used in cosmetics. Bismuth subnitrate and bismuth subcarbonate are used in medicine.[1] Bismuth subsalicylate (the active ingredient in Pepto-Bismol and (modern) Kaopectate) is used as an antidiarrheal and to treat some other gastro-intestinal diseases (oligodynamic effect). It can take quite a bit of meds to get rid of this condition.....I pray all this works.
520191 tn?1355635402 Over a year ago i was given ranitidine for the treatment of GERD. I took my first dose and i started to feel nausea so i went to bed, during the night i started vomiting and not like any vomit i had ever experienced before. i thought nothing of it, until my heart began to race through out the night. the next morning i thought i might be allergic to one of my medication as i was prescribed 2 medication all at once.
Avatar f tn Another thing that surprised me is that I remember taking pepto bismuth and it would make some difference. I read that pepto bismuth, activated charcoal and gas x are all good . I think I will follow a low sulphur diet and see if it helps. Joint pain is also a symptom which I do have and doctors has said it is not arthritis. I noticed whenever I eat a diet richly seasoned my joints hurt worse. Inbox me with what you think. Remember I annoy a doctor this is not medical advice.
Avatar f tn Some studies have linked EBV with Hashimoto's, but there's nothing conclusive. Some doctors have felt that Fibromyalgia is, basically, un or under-treated hypothyroidism, since Fibro and hypothyroidism share many symptoms and many/most of the symptoms go away if the patient is treated adequately with thyroid hormones.
1747349 tn?1332683680 This results in initial treatment failure and requires additional rounds of antibiotic therapy or alternative strategies, such as a quadruple therapy, which adds a bismuth colloid, such as bismuth subsalicylate.[36][50][51] For the treatment of clarithromycin-resistant strains of H. pylori, the use of levofloxacin as part of the therapy has been suggested.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Choices for a generic over the counter antacid just got smaller as the drug maker of generic ranitidine under the brand name of Zantac has pulled distribution of the medication world wide. Last week the FDA stated they found cancer causing chemicals in some samples taken from batches of generic rantitidine or Zantac. https://www.fda.
Avatar f tn I think that I have some sort of a persistent infection that needs to be identified because I seem to be stuck in a loop of getting sick every month for the last 5+mos. First symptoms are fatigue, slight headache & scratchy throat. A day or two later I get the feeling of acid pain right below my sternum. The headache & scratchy throat go away after a day (as though whatever this thing is is trying to find a place to settle in).
2006603 tn?1331329327 Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I am 33w4d and yesterday my doc prescribed me 150mg tablets to take twice a day for heartburn. Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I just want to make sure its safe.
Avatar m tn In order to treat Acid Reflux/GERD I have been taking Ranitidine/Zantac per doctors advice. I started developing various side effects several months ago. To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so.
Avatar f tn I have been taking 1 magnesium citrate 200mg at bedtime for approximately 1.5 weeks. I do have a history of headaches, but since I started taking it, I am waking up with severe headaches which seem to last 3 to 4 hours. The only other thing I take is a B6 vitamin. I take no prescription medication, so I know it is not an interaction. Everything I read says magnesium is good for headaches. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Hi, i recently started taking magnesium citrate. the thing is i have read the regular dosis is 600 mg of magnesium... the product i bought has 530 mg of citrate magnesium with Vitamin B6 125 mg. in the prospect it says you can take up to three capsules a day... What confuses me is that 530 mg of magnesium citrates is equivalent of 47,6 mg of "elemental magnesium". i have read that regular dosis of elemntal magnesuim is approximately 200 mg.. sooo...

Avatar m tn ve never been officially diagnosed, just something my GP thought might be bothering me and prescribed me ranitidine... long story short, the ranitidine worked fine (150 mg/2x a day) and I was symptom free within 24 hours. Flash forward to 5 weeks ago, I thought I was developing a bit of a chest cold with some chest tightness. Figured the cough would come along later... funny thing, it never came.
