Ask your Cardio or GI doc. They should be able to give you the infor you need. I am taking plavix and was on nexium. Had to go off it because of the FDA findings. Am now on pepcid You can also look on the FDA website for more info on that. Good luck.

Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.

The Nexium he is taking is giving him awful cramps (proven by discontinuing the Nexium). Can ranitidine be used safely with a damaged liver?

t take that and i took the ranitidine, within 30 min of taking i had more and more problems breathing, i felt like i was suffocating. i rang my doctor as i didn't know what to do and she put me through as she could tell i couldn't breathe even through she couldn't understand me. By the time the ambulance arrived my lips and neck has swollen, i could barely say a word let alone a sentence. i had a rash around my neck and my oxygen saturation was low.

Changed my diet and included good amount of vegetables. Since 2008, I moved from Nexium to Ranitidine. Also, from 2010, I take Ranitidine as needed instead of taking them every morning an hour after my Thyroid medicine. I have been doing pretty good since then. I have the lump in throat feeling, too. I am scheduled for my first endoscopy next month. I have had GERD for many years. I had bad experiences with the PPI's and Zantac (Ranitidine) isn't the least bit helpful. I am careful with my diet, but I still get this feeling in my throat and the pain right below the sternum. I rarely get heartburn from my foods any more, because I am watching very carefully what I eat.

I'm on Nexium, 20 mg a day, and have been for 5 years. Within the last six months they diagnosed me with PVCs, 8500 a day on average, when I never had them before. Naturally I'd like to get rid of the scary things. But how can you just go off Prilosec or Prevacid without getting acid rebound? I have been on and off Nexium and Omeprazole off and on since 2015. I have had 2 endoscopies. The one in 2015 showed a small hiatal hernia and mild gastritis and the one in 2017 did not show a hernia and looked pretty good. I am grateful for any help.

The doctor who performed the endo said my esophagus was totally healed and I could stop taking the Nexium. I did and my symptoms returned within a few days. I tried ranitidine - no help. Finally it was so bad I asked my MD to put me back on Nexium. I have tried stopping the Nexium several times. I've tried Prilosec OTC. It helped while I was actually on it, but once the 14 day course was finished my symptoms returned after 2 days.

Take a Antiacid one that is good is Ranitidine I took 2 a day. And it works great! Slow down on the fried foods, Sugar, And live life to its fullest!

Sorry - if this is the incorrect section, I'm unsure where to put this. This is a sinus and respiratory related question. I am a male, I am currently 24, and am at around 265 lbs. For a good history of all my recent problems, I'll start about two or three years ago: Around three years ago, I got lyme disease. The hospital put me on Doxycycline, then because that started ripping up my stomach they put me on Nexium.

I should add though that anxiety did make my symptoms a lot worse. So anxiety over your symptoms could be causing your nausea to feel more intense. I know it did that to me. I took ranitidine for a long time and didn't notice much relief from it. Has it helped you at all? I ended up switching to nexium which was amazing. It stopped my acid reflux in its tracks. But getting a handle on my anxiety also worked wonder for my reflux and I rarely get it all anymore.

I struggled with those for almost two years. When I tapered off the Nexium meds and used a simple, over-the-counter antacid (containing calcium and magnesium) as needed, the PVCs lessened. When I ate carefully and finally stopped Nexium completely (using the OTC antacid only when needed and in small amounts) the PVCs went away completely. I've been free of them for almost two years now.
