1210142 tn?1266077031 Taking Diltiazem, Lisinopril, Aspirin and Ranitidine as well. Have been having constant stomach and chest pains and the doctors are not able to find the cause- at least they don’t think it is a cardiac one./the chest pains/ My gastroenterologist suggested I stop taking Ranitidine and switch to Pantroprazole. I have read a lot about the interaction between Plavix and PPI’s but he thinks only Omeprazole have more effect on Plavix, not Pantoprazole.
Avatar n tn Have a sensitive stomach and get burning pains especially if food has chilly or is strong in acid. Ranitidine has helped but from time to time suffer missing hearbeats. Having given up the drug for a while things improved but stomach started to suffer again and thus the reason to re-start the drug.
593603 tn?1229378162 I took it with my first pregnancy, but it was a lot later in the pregnancy. I am dying here, and need a fix.
Avatar m tn ve never been officially diagnosed, just something my GP thought might be bothering me and prescribed me ranitidine... long story short, the ranitidine worked fine (150 mg/2x a day) and I was symptom free within 24 hours. Flash forward to 5 weeks ago, I thought I was developing a bit of a chest cold with some chest tightness. Figured the cough would come along later... funny thing, it never came.
Avatar f tn my husband is experiencing some strange and rather disgusting symptoms. he is 32 years old. Last night he was complaining of stomach upset(MINOR) when he woke up he had developed what I can only describe as mouth gas. VERY smelly belches. also severe diarhea. He says it feels like his stomach keeps building up with air. He has no appetite. any ideas what this may be, and how to get rid of it?
Avatar n tn Do you avoid NSAIDs and aspirin? Do you eat frequent small meals instead of eating large/heavy meals? As you likely know GERD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease) and headache can often be associated with one another. Are you experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety? If so, this can be a trigger of both increased acid production and headache. Also, if you have allergies, symptoms of GERD can be aggravated, so you may want to go to an allergist.
Avatar n tn For over a month now I have been suffering from stomach pain, nausea, a bit of gas and bloating, and food tasting really weird/gross. I've been taking prescribed antacids for it and lots of generic tums. A similar thing like this occurred a month ago, however, my stomach only hurt when I touched the very lower portion of it then. Today my stomach hurts when I touch it mostly in the middle and when I don't touch it. The pain feels like the inside of my stomach is just raw.
Avatar n tn After eating, I am experiencing stomach bubbling, nausea, bloating, and cramping. Everday after meals for the past 3 weeks my stomach feels a bit whoozy, which makes me begin to feel nausea. Several times I have experienced diarrea, and my stool color is a light brown (caramel color). I've also experienced a pressure and eye irritation in the back of my eyes. I've tried taking Pepto Bismo and laxatives, but these are just temporary relievers. What might be the cause?
Avatar n tn For the last two days I have been exremely bloated and the main problem is that it makes my breathing very labored. I look like i am about 7 months pregnant. Help!!!
Avatar f tn ve been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
Avatar n tn She has been told about H(pyloir) Do you know what that is? And shes been told about Gerd. Dont know what that is either. Any help will be taken and greatly taken. Thanks again, Hope to hear from you.
Avatar f tn you could try looking up those drugs online and see what they say about hurting baby. i can tell you that buscopan is a muscle relaxant and that that shouldn't hurt your future baby. i have been on ranitidine, still have some i think. but i had heart palpitations with it. but i am really glad to hear its working for you. because of my experience with it i would definitely suggest talking to your doctor about it. but my main suggestion would be sort things out with your body first.
Avatar n tn Now, two years later my gastritis symptoms have come back (heartburn and nausea), and I read somewhere that I can take omeprazole AND ranitidine on the same day (but not the same time) so I've been taking the 20 mg Omeprazole in the am before breakfast and a 75mg ranitidine in the pm before dinner, which has worked quiet well.
1088529 tn?1256844030 Avoid heavy meals and take frequent small ones. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Go to bed at least 2 hours after food. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
520191 tn?1355635402 t take that and i took the ranitidine, within 30 min of taking i had more and more problems breathing, i felt like i was suffocating. i rang my doctor as i didn't know what to do and she put me through as she could tell i couldn't breathe even through she couldn't understand me. By the time the ambulance arrived my lips and neck has swollen, i could barely say a word let alone a sentence. i had a rash around my neck and my oxygen saturation was low.
Avatar f tn When you get chest pains, make sure to take an extra strength aspirin just in case. I myself get chest pains and have normal EKG. EKG will show if there is anything going on and an echocardiogram will show how your heart it working. Some symptoms when having a heart attack are chest pains, pain in the arm, sick to your stomach, sometimes the back even shakes or vibrates. You may want to ask your doctor about an echocardiogram if only just to put your mind at ease.
Avatar f tn Some doctors have felt that Fibromyalgia is, basically, un or under-treated hypothyroidism, since Fibro and hypothyroidism share many symptoms and many/most of the symptoms go away if the patient is treated adequately with thyroid hormones. From the reading I've done, there's no benefit of taking ranitidine for EBV when mononucleosis is active, therefore, I can see no benefit of it 15 yrs later, either.
15695260 tn?1549593113 gov/news-events/press-announcements/statement-alerting-patients-and-health-care-professionals-ndma-found-samples-ranitidine The amount was very small and barely more than the amount of the chemical you might expect to find in common foods but the general public needs to feel safe in the medications they take. However the FDA didn't recommend people not take the medication they currently have.
2006603 tn?1331329327 Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I am 33w4d and yesterday my doc prescribed me 150mg tablets to take twice a day for heartburn. Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I just want to make sure its safe.
Avatar m tn To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so. I also noticed when taking TUMS that I only need to take less than one tablet for it to be effective (say about 500 mg /day. Occasionally 750mg). One question I have is would it be better to only take Tums instead - even if I need to use ~500mg each day?
956351 tn?1246927519 My grandfather is 84yrs old, he said he is experiencing some abdominal pain and assume it is some reaction with acid reflux? I explained to him that with his age and other medical problems, it could be a number of issues. He has prostate, high blood pressure, and acid reflux that he is being treated for as we speak. But he explains that the acid reflux is what he is assuming is the reason behind his newly shown symptoms.
Avatar f tn Because of my remote location, a trip to the ENT was very expensive and I declined to go. Eventually it did clear up and heal and go away, and I went on with my life. Fast forward to last week, I've been feeling a bit stressed and noticed my heart burn and IBS acting up a bit. I did basically nothing for it, hoping it would just go away. The post nasal drip / throat clearing and dysphagia started again a few days ago.
Avatar n tn I'm in panic mode, as far as cancer goes. I have a mass seen by mammogram, ultra sound, and MRI. I take high risk medication and also I've been taking the highly talked about ranitidine(prescribed to me) for the past 5 or 6 years.
