Avatar n tn For over a month now I have been suffering from stomach pain, nausea, a bit of gas and bloating, and food tasting really weird/gross. I've been taking prescribed antacids for it and lots of generic tums. A similar thing like this occurred a month ago, however, my stomach only hurt when I touched the very lower portion of it then. Today my stomach hurts when I touch it mostly in the middle and when I don't touch it. The pain feels like the inside of my stomach is just raw.
Avatar n tn Had IV fluids for a day and Cyclizine injections to stop sickness, plus Ranitidine antacids which made a huge difference for me. Will be on Cyclizine + Ranitidine oral tablets for the rest of my pregnancy, am 18+2 and looking forward to being able to enjoy it at last!
Avatar m tn i did an upper endoscopy and biopsy and just the proffesor doctor told me that i have h, pylori infection. he did not mention gastritis. i need to go to toilet many times during a day and sometimes mucous. bowel runling in addition to the symptoms i mentioned before.
Avatar f tn I'm on Cyclizine (anti-sickness) and Ranitidine (antacids), then eat little and often. 19+2 now and know what you're going through and how difficult it can seem, I've had days i've felt so low and dont know how I'm going to get through this pregnancy.
Avatar m tn I became dangerously B12 deficient because I took high doses of Ranitidine for too long. I stopped the Antacids all together and my B12 returned to normal. After stopping antacids and fixing the B12 I started to develop a problem with swallowing. I thought it was a problem from B12 deficiency since the symptoms were "Difficulty swallowing". I started having problems with acid again and this time the problems are in my esophagus.
Avatar n tn Nothing works, have tried omeprazole, famotidine, reglan, antacids, ranitidine, and others. My lower throat feels like it cramps and I can't breathe, then the blood and oxygen rushing to deal with that makes my heart start pounding. I am wondering: is there anything I can suggest to my doctors to look at next, or another drug I can try since the only thing that gives me relief is sublingual nitroglycerin and I go through 100 of those a month ? Thanks for ANY suggestions, I am desperate.
1701959 tn?1488551541 It went away and only flaired up a little here and there. This past week it came back and hurt like crazy again... to put pressure there causes discomfort and eating too much seems to make it worse. I've had the blood test for H. Pylori which was negative and am going to my GI doc in 2 days. Does this sound like Gastritis? I do take a lot of motrin as tylenol does not help. Just so worried!
Avatar m tn In mild gastritis over-the-counter antacids can help in neutralizing stomach acid and can provide fast pain relief. When antacids don't provide enough relief, medications such as cimetidine, ranitidine or famotidine that help reduce the amount of acid the stomach produces are often prescribed. Proton pump inhibitors may help in severe cases. It is important to confirm the diagnosis. I hope you find this information useful. Best luck and regards!
Avatar m tn And it was only once then. It just happened so suddenly, I was breathing find and then I lie down and immediately begin experiencing problems. I also have terriible posture and spend 5+ hours a day using the computer, sitting not up straight in a chair, not sure if that has anything to do with it either.
Avatar m tn Zantac Ranitidine (150mg), antacid zellox-II, Zecuf, antibiotic (cephalexin), paracetamol, and cough syrup. This is when problem occurred. I started to experience soft light yellow stool (very little as i didn't eat much), diarrhea (>3 times, little too) , indigestion, nausea, and bloat. I started to get worried and didn't take the medicine for the time being. Please advise me what to do now. Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn Antacids that neutralize stomach acid. Antacids, such as Maalox, Mylanta, Gelusil, Rolaids and Tums, may provide quick relief. But antacids alone won't heal an inflamed esophagus damaged by stomach acid. Overuse of some antacids can cause side effects, such as diarrhea or constipation. Medications to reduce acid production.
Avatar m tn I noticed that whenever I had no pains and I ate a meal, the pain would come together with the need to pass gas. And whenever I had pains, eating food and antacids would stop the pain. Today I went back to the hospital and a different doctor gave me the following meds: -omeprazole -suntacids -chlordiazepoxide she told me that it was still a gastric flu, but a different form from the usual kind of gastric flu.
Avatar m tn ve learned to supplement my Esomeprazole (none of the others work) with ranitidine over the few days and use antacids/Gaviscon advance as needed. Extra propping up when 'laying down' is also required. It really reinforces all the usual GERD management tips, like eat little plain meals to nourish, avoid greasy or strong flavours, avoid caffeine, avoid acidic (fruit juice) or fizzy drinks.
Avatar m tn Over-the-counter antacids in liquid or tablet form are a common treatment for mild gastritis. Antacids neutralize stomach acid and can provide fast pain relief. When antacids don't provide enough relief, medications such as cimetidine, ranitidine, nizatidine or famotidine that help reduce the amount of acid the stomach produces are often prescribed. An even more effective way to limit stomach acid production is to shut down the acid "pumps" within acid-secreting stomach cells.
Avatar m tn I have also noticed other symptoms working on me over the past 6months including - finding myself very tired to the point where i engage in day time sleep [this is not something i have ever done], very tight head aches up the left hand side of my head [near the back of my left ear - these can last for days], poor vision and burning feeling to my eyes, very painful neck, minor chest pain, lack of appetite [due to burning sensation in my throat] and tasteless sensation in my mouth.
1916673 tn?1420233270 ll find lots of info about it. Be aware that like most antiemetics and antacids, not all meds work on all dogs, so once you have found something that works its worth sticking with it. Zofran tends to be reasonably priced, so it may be worth giving it a try from that point of view.
Avatar f tn Also I've been taking it since early second trimester and im now due in less than two weeks and still take it when I need it
Avatar n tn I had my gallbladder removed and take antacids all the time, I would also like to know about this.
Avatar n tn Have a sensitive stomach and get burning pains especially if food has chilly or is strong in acid. Ranitidine has helped but from time to time suffer missing hearbeats. Having given up the drug for a while things improved but stomach started to suffer again and thus the reason to re-start the drug.
Avatar f tn I take mylanta notnsure if you have that in US and doc prescribed ranitidine 150mg twice a day safe during pregnancy. I was told by doc nexium isnt safe during pregnancy can cause birth defects and premature labor.
Avatar m tn ve never been officially diagnosed, just something my GP thought might be bothering me and prescribed me ranitidine... long story short, the ranitidine worked fine (150 mg/2x a day) and I was symptom free within 24 hours. Flash forward to 5 weeks ago, I thought I was developing a bit of a chest cold with some chest tightness. Figured the cough would come along later... funny thing, it never came.
