ramipril when to take

hello, my dad is a diabetic (type2), since last year, hes 46 yrs old, hes on metmorfin, the same last year he was also prescribed ramipril 2.5mg everyday, for to treat the diabetic nephropathy, i can get ramipril in my town but its 5mg ramipril capsule in the chemists, and his medications are over, so should i let him take the 5mg ramipril? my big concern is would the dose cause hypoglycaemia or any other effects as the dosage will be double the dose hid doctor prescribed?

I was put on Ramipril 5mg as my BP was high. Wondering how long it takes to work. My pulse is low a 59 but my BP is still high. Is this normal? Im worried if they put the dose up my pulse will go even lower.

I am not familiar with Ramipril, so, unfortunately, can't speak to that. I've read posts here where people take a specific type of levothyroxine and have side effects from the dyes in the pill, so that's a possibility. However, I think further work up is probably warranted.

The doctor was saying the cough will not stop immediately after stopping the Ramipril, will take at least a week to reduce. Is it correct?

Anyone have a related experience to share or know if weight gain is a common side effect of Ramipril?

I am too scared to take the new med as I read 5 mg is equivalent to Metoprolol 100mg. I am scared to take in the night due to the fear of hypotension and low pulse rate. But the doc assured that nothing would happen but I am too scared to take an initial dose of 5mg Bisoprolol straightaway....Want all you peoples help in this regard and advice me whether I could go ahead with Bisoprolol 5mg without any fear....Thanks in advance...

My cardiologist put me on ramipril a few wks back and after 10 days ran blood tests whic came back normal. this morning I woke up with diarriah and some serious kidney pain on the right side.It doesn't hurt when I urinate or have a bowel movement although certain body movements cause it to occur. My question is can this be caused by ramipril along with my lasix and potassium with a delayed reaction or buildup?

Hi members, I am a 32 year old male, recently diagnosed with Ischemic Cardiomyopathy with an EF<27%. I had 3 blocked arteries, 100%, 90% & 80% when diagnosed, got stents in the 80% & 90% ones. There also is a presence of clots inside the heart (one layered & others) with both parts of the Left & Right Ventricles affected. Currently I am on Dytor, Ramipril, Apixaban, Carvedilol, eplerenone, plavix, trivedon, ecosprin digoxin & ivabradine.

Taking Ramipril In morning for several years. Recently started taking Laxido & banana (for breakfast). About the same time started coughing frequently but intermittently & became slightly breathless when walking. 2 days ago doctor called Emergency as I had persistent chest pain & burping. No heart attack but abnormal ecg, which however improved after being in A&E for several hours. Wondering if Ramipril + laxido + banana too much potassium?

I just started to take ramipril at night and now my bood pressure is elevated in the morning. I used to take it in the morning and my bp was higher in the evening.

I also tale predisilon ,Azithiopring,Ramipril,Aspring.But my Doctor says i have to take this drugs for ever. Now they stopped predisilon . can't be HSP cure?

I'm on maximum of Ramipril at the moment and they are only dropping my BP a small amount. I won't take beta blockers because my resting heart rate is 66 and with an EF of 70%, it doesn't need slowing down anyway. I will think about it more and probably get some magnesium pills tomorrow to take. I'll have to be careful though because Magnesium is also used to empty bowels before surgery lol.

Hi there. I have kidney failure (Gfr generally between 40 and 50 but recently closer to 40), and also crohns which has been in remission for years but has recently been shown to be very active. My problem is for about 12 months now I have been prescribed ramipril for my kidneys and high blood pressure, but in the last few months and weeks (it seems to me since crohns has become active) it is making me feel absolutely terrible.

I had to stop taking ramipril 1.25mg after a week due to various side effects. thurs I had severe shaking or chills etc. so stopped it on advice but 4 days later feeling bit better but I keep feeling funny. its like my head feels funny and the feeling like your lightheaded - going to faint or collapse but not quite and doesn't go away.

We are observing that it becomes higher during the morning hours when it reached 160. This caused him to develop angina again. He is taking 5 mg ramipril in the morning with 2.5 in the evening. In addition his is also taking Lasix which was prescribed for a period of 2 weeks. Should we continue to take Lasix. Is the dosage of Lasix conflicting with the Ramipril in any way. Please advise.

i am taken 5mg of ramipril and 50micrograms thyroxine,daily..... i have an occasional cough...the DR says it is caused by Ramipril but cant change my med because im been treated for Excema which i've had now for 18 mths..

the readings at night were 180/110 peaking at 238/160 during mild excercise,they have adjusted my medicine to 10mg of ramipril and added 10mg of amlodipine daily with close monitoring.

my wife age 39 having diluted cardiomayopathy no symptoms of short breath, swelling, pain etc. docter says unknon cause. now treatment is carvedilol 12.5 mg twice. ramipril 2.5 mg once. spiromide 20mg once. loprin 75 mg once. q10 enzyme 50mg once. Is it a good treatment for the patient.

Any more would reduce my heart rate. I had to take ace inhibitors a couple of times over the years to reduce blood pressure and Ramipril was chosen. Bisoprolol has a long lasting action, so only one a day is necessary.
