ramipril weight gain

Anyone have a related experience to share or know if weight gain is a common side effect of Ramipril?

I have not felt right for well over a year and dr told me all down to menopause but somehow l have felt it could be something else, had upper left ultrasound and all okay, l do nto have a gallbladder and have recently put weight on without eating extra and was told menopause, feel very low, weight gain, also cold fingers and toes and heavy feelign in ankles and back just generally out of sorts, could this be the high potassium, l do not eat a lot of foods containing high potassium, l have a bl

The lowest bp reading yesterday was 140/90 pulse 64. I take 2 medications daily, Ramipril 10mg per day, Atenolol 50mg per day. I also take thyroxine 200 micrograms per day. I had a TT in April and radioactive iodine treatment for thyroid cancer in July. I have really bad fluid retention. I wake with puffy legs and by the end of the day they are so puffed up that it is hard to walk and they ache. As of October 1st I have started to walk on the treadmill for 15 minutes each day slowly.

I imagine they're trained to know which medications work best for which heart problems. As for dosage, I'm not sure. If you look at a PDR the book mentions standard dosages for children, adults and geriatric folks. I know with the antibiotics I use at work we choose which antibiotic works best for which type of injury or specific bacteria. I always calculate dosage according to species (mammals have a different calculation compared to birds or reptiles) and weight.

I don't know anything about Atenolol and I haven't looked it up, but if possible side-effects listed include weight gain, I think it worth your time to see what you doctor can recommend as a good change (lower dose, or alternative medication). At 6' I think you should target getting more than 20 pounds off, I'd think you'll feel better and have less diabetes risk if you get down to about 200.

5mg everyday, for to treat the diabetic nephropathy, i can get ramipril in my town but its 5mg ramipril capsule in the chemists, and his medications are over, so should i let him take the 5mg ramipril? my big concern is would the dose cause hypoglycaemia or any other effects as the dosage will be double the dose hid doctor prescribed? please help me on that, i will be grateful...thank you.

I was put on Ramipril 5mg as my BP was high. Wondering how long it takes to work. My pulse is low a 59 but my BP is still high. Is this normal? Im worried if they put the dose up my pulse will go even lower.

I am not familiar with Ramipril, so, unfortunately, can't speak to that. I've read posts here where people take a specific type of levothyroxine and have side effects from the dyes in the pill, so that's a possibility. However, I think further work up is probably warranted.

doctor prescribed some medicines which includes baclofen, ramipril, clopidogrel,amolodipine , atenolol, atorvastatin and escitolopram. after taking medicines her pulse rate has gone to 45-50 range and blood pressure is still 160/120. I have kidney failure (Gfr generally between 40 and 50 but recently closer to 40), and also crohns which has been in remission for years but has recently been shown to be very active. My problem is for about 12 months now I have been prescribed ramipril for my kidneys and high blood pressure, but in the last few months and weeks (it seems to me since crohns has become active) it is making me feel absolutely terrible.

My cardiologist put me on ramipril a few wks back and after 10 days ran blood tests whic came back normal. this morning I woke up with diarriah and some serious kidney pain on the right side.It doesn't hurt when I urinate or have a bowel movement although certain body movements cause it to occur. My question is can this be caused by ramipril along with my lasix and potassium with a delayed reaction or buildup?

Taking Ramipril In morning for several years. Recently started taking Laxido & banana (for breakfast). About the same time started coughing frequently but intermittently & became slightly breathless when walking. 2 days ago doctor called Emergency as I had persistent chest pain & burping. No heart attack but abnormal ecg, which however improved after being in A&E for several hours. Wondering if Ramipril + laxido + banana too much potassium?

i am taken 5mg of ramipril and 50micrograms thyroxine,daily..... i have an occasional cough...the DR says it is caused by Ramipril but cant change my med because im been treated for Excema which i've had now for 18 mths..

I just started to take ramipril at night and now my bood pressure is elevated in the morning. I used to take it in the morning and my bp was higher in the evening.

That's what we're wondering. The doctors said the ramipril is not just for blood pressure but is also for his weak heart to see if it improves the EF. They've sent him for additional tests and even recommended a higher dose of ramipril despite the fact that his oxygen level was 114 when he did the bicycle test. The doctor kept talking about him being in a state of heart failure which is very unsettling.

Well I'm 7 months that means I'm 27 weeks and I have only gain 1 pound my midwife said it was OK 4 me to not gain weight bcz I'm over weight so u girls tell me it seems like I won't have to do a lot of weight loss. How far are u nd how much you gain?

hi i have been told i have hypertension from my gp who has gave me ramipril 5mg . im not sure whether to take them im 17weeks postpartum . i had high bp in hosp 140/96 my surgeon who was looking after me put it down to white coat syndrome as when i was relaxed it came down .

You gain the most weight in the last 8 weeks. So you might barely gain now, and then pack it on fast toward the end which is normal.
