Avatar f tn more and more i see ramipril 2.5 ordered to help kidney function...could you elaborate for my own knowledge please...
Avatar f tn My cardiologist put me on ramipril a few wks back and after 10 days ran blood tests whic came back normal. this morning I woke up with diarriah and some serious kidney pain on the right side.It doesn't hurt when I urinate or have a bowel movement although certain body movements cause it to occur. My question is can this be caused by ramipril along with my lasix and potassium with a delayed reaction or buildup?
Avatar f tn Hello, If you Google for ' ramipril side effects ' or simvastatin side effects ' you will get more details. Ramipril has been indicated to cause sexual problems, but both these drugs can affect liver function and in turn affect sexual performance.Further more, statin drugs can cause muscle weakness and may lead to a drop in overall energy level.
335873 tn?1264913469 I would be very aggressive with your blood pressure control. You should probably try the ramipril or an alternative ace inhibitor and have your kidney function monitored to look for problems. You could also consider being on an ARB or a diuteric.
Avatar f tn 4, the nexrt test was 5 he was okay about it, four weeks ago was put back on high blood pressure tablets but prior to starting them they carried out another Kidney blood test and four weeks later l was told bp down to 134/84 on 5mg ramipril but the blood test four weeks ago was high again and has to be repeated.
Avatar m tn Raised creatinine levels are caused by kidney disorders. There are two types of kidney diseases acute and chronic. Chronic kidney disease is caused by diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, polycystic kidney disease and some medications like pain killers. So, treating the kidney disorder can help control creatinine levels. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Medication can be totally unpredictable. For example, from 2007 to 2010 I was on blood pressure medication Ramipril with absolutely no problems. In May 2011 I was asked to go back on them because my BP was borderline, but for reasons unknown, they gave me lots of chest pains. At first nobody knew what it was, but after three days I stopped the Ramipril and the pains stopped. So even the same medication we have taken at some point in the past can have different results.
Avatar m tn Best thing you can do to help your kidney function is to get your blood sugars down to normal (ie. 80-120 range, or as close to this as you can safely manage). I don't know of any OTC meds to helps. Maybe a good moisturizer will help a little. You can also ask the pharmacist to recommend. You can also ask the pharmacist about alternative meds to ramopril if this is what you are reacting to.
Avatar f tn I NEED INFO!!!!......ok i have been prone to UTI's for about 2 years, but last UTI was about 4 months ago and it lasted 4 weeks if not more, i took AZO for 3 weeks and cranberry supplements since, i was really worried but dont have health insurance and im also a nursing student. Avatar n tn Down to 95/65 from normal of 110/70. This is creating problems for me. I feel tired, stomach upset and dizziness, necessity to clear my throat constantly. Over last 3 yesrs I have gradually reduced my ramipril (ACE-I) dosage from 2x6.25 to 2x1.25. So I am already low on ramipril. I cannot go down further on ACE-I. My EF is 30-35%. I had MI in 2007. My question is, can side effects of carvidilol become severe even after its trouble free (almost) use for three years?
Avatar f tn 5mg everyday, for to treat the diabetic nephropathy, i can get ramipril in my town but its 5mg ramipril capsule in the chemists, and his medications are over, so should i let him take the 5mg ramipril? my big concern is would the dose cause hypoglycaemia or any other effects as the dosage will be double the dose hid doctor prescribed? please help me on that, i will be grateful...thank you.
Avatar f tn I am confused by the drug RAMIPRIL. The leaflet in box and details in British Formulary list WEIGHT LOSS as a side effect (I have lost 6 kilos). On the Internet there are many letters regarding weight gain but nothing about weeight loss. Why is this?
Avatar f tn I was put on Ramipril 5mg as my BP was high. Wondering how long it takes to work. My pulse is low a 59 but my BP is still high. Is this normal? Im worried if they put the dose up my pulse will go even lower.
544430 tn?1283712658 I am not familiar with Ramipril, so, unfortunately, can't speak to that. I've read posts here where people take a specific type of levothyroxine and have side effects from the dyes in the pill, so that's a possibility. However, I think further work up is probably warranted.
Avatar m tn Still no proper cure. She takes insulin, Cresto and pressure medication Ramipril. She does annual checkup with Cardiologist too. Please advice.
1020296 tn?1251475359 doctor prescribed some medicines which includes baclofen, ramipril, clopidogrel, amolodipine , atenolol, atorvastatin and escitolopram. after taking medicines her pulse rate has gone to 45-50 range and blood pressure is still 160/120. I'd like to ask why pulse rate is going low..is it due to side effect of medicines..
Avatar m tn People with asthma need more fluids than normal people (however do not go overboard, see he drinks 8-10 glasses of fluids in a day). Other causes such as polycythemia vera, kidney problems and the possibility of a heart disease should also be looked into. Hope this helps. Do discuss this with your doctor and get your husband examined. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
976897 tn?1379167602 My Ramipril is hardly working now, it looks as though I'm becoming immune to its effects. My current BP is around 145/105 and sometimes higher. Is there a natural substance which helps with BP that anyone knows of? Or, do I need to ask the Doctor to change me to another med?
Avatar m tn Taking Ramipril In morning for several years. Recently started taking Laxido & banana (for breakfast). About the same time started coughing frequently but intermittently & became slightly breathless when walking. 2 days ago doctor called Emergency as I had persistent chest pain & burping. No heart attack but abnormal ecg, which however improved after being in A&E for several hours. Wondering if Ramipril + laxido + banana too much potassium?
Avatar m tn Thank you jrbon. Yes, we are completely aware the part/size of damage of the heart muscle will have the impact on the LVEF. You have mentioned the biggest part of recovery takes place between 6-3 months. After the HA she had, last week was the first time we took the echo, which is precisely 3 months and 2 weeks after the HA, with an increase of 2%. Is it too early to predict by looking at this measure? I heard the ejection rate anything greater than or equal to 50% is good.
544430 tn?1283712658 i am taken 5mg of ramipril and 50micrograms thyroxine,daily..... i have an occasional cough...the DR says it is caused by Ramipril but cant change my med because im been treated for Excema which i've had now for 18 mths..
Avatar m tn these tablets are not for bp any way there for water balance, she must take ace inhibtors in kidney disease, ramipril is a good one, renal diet is essential, low salt low spice low potassium low fat, LOW PROTEIN, less oil, currys must be watery not spicy, i would limit protein to 40 grm a day or less, go and see a nephrologist, search the net for a good one,
529932 tn?1212867390 Aside from cutting back on the salt and drinking plenty of water, specific foods will also reduce protein the urine and even restore Kidney functions. People have restored their kidney function completely. Here's the program that seems to be getting the best results. Check it out, there's nothing to lose.. http://tinyurl.
Avatar n tn Hey- just a quick question, can any of the tx meds for Hep C cause kidney problems? I just have had some issues lately and was wondering if they could be linked to tx.
