Avatar f tn more and more i see ramipril 2.5 ordered to help kidney function...could you elaborate for my own knowledge please...
Avatar m tn I had an exercise stress test, which came back normal, and an echocardiogram. Overall the echo was fine. My EF was 53% and and the summary said I had sinus tachycardia. In addition, the results stated that I have borderline global hypokinesis. The size of my left ventricle is normal, but it isn't moving optimally (left ventricular systolic function is borderline reduced). I have always had high blood pressure readings, generally over 130 and in the upper 80s, sometimes over 140.
Avatar m tn trace mitral and tricuspid inefficiency, EF 53%, borderline global hypokinesis (my left ventricular motion is borderline reduced, but structurally normal). Overall, the doctor said I was fine but hypertensive, so he put me on 10mg of Ramipril for my BP. Recently, I've had continued issues with anxiety during exercise and palpitations. So I was told to come in for another stress test. I took it and they saw ST depressions.
Avatar n tn Hello, Your blood pressure is obviously high but you have started with the lifestyle modification with exercise and dietary changes. Moreover ACE inhibitor drugs like Ramipril is a good antihypertensive and should lower the blood pressure. However ensure that you take this drug regularly as prescribed and get your blood pressure monitored at regular intervals.
976897 tn?1379167602 My Ramipril is hardly working now, it looks as though I'm becoming immune to its effects. My current BP is around 145/105 and sometimes higher. Is there a natural substance which helps with BP that anyone knows of? Or, do I need to ask the Doctor to change me to another med?
Avatar f tn 5mg everyday, for to treat the diabetic nephropathy, i can get ramipril in my town but its 5mg ramipril capsule in the chemists, and his medications are over, so should i let him take the 5mg ramipril? my big concern is would the dose cause hypoglycaemia or any other effects as the dosage will be double the dose hid doctor prescribed? please help me on that, i will be grateful...thank you.
Avatar m tn In addition to my original post, I am 32 years old, sort of healthy? I'm 280lbs, 6'1, obviously overweight, I am quite muscular due to being very physically fit at one point in my life, so more muscle than flub. I'm slightly inactive although I go through periods of exercise and then no exercise for the past few years. I have asthma and high blood pressure, I'm also being treated for depression and anxiety.
Avatar f tn I am confused by the drug RAMIPRIL. The leaflet in box and details in British Formulary list WEIGHT LOSS as a side effect (I have lost 6 kilos). On the Internet there are many letters regarding weight gain but nothing about weeight loss. Why is this?
Avatar n tn Since my high blood pressure just reach 150, I would like to know how I can effectively treat or control the hypertension, medicine, exercise or what else? My weight is 183lb and I never smoke. I have no other disease. Thank you for your answer.
1567714 tn?1318573193 The lowest bp reading yesterday was 140/90 pulse 64. I take 2 medications daily, Ramipril 10mg per day, Atenolol 50mg per day. I also take thyroxine 200 micrograms per day. I had a TT in April and radioactive iodine treatment for thyroid cancer in July. I have really bad fluid retention. I wake with puffy legs and by the end of the day they are so puffed up that it is hard to walk and they ache. As of October 1st I have started to walk on the treadmill for 15 minutes each day slowly.
Avatar f tn I was put on Ramipril 5mg as my BP was high. Wondering how long it takes to work. My pulse is low a 59 but my BP is still high. Is this normal? Im worried if they put the dose up my pulse will go even lower.
544430 tn?1283712658 I am not familiar with Ramipril, so, unfortunately, can't speak to that. I've read posts here where people take a specific type of levothyroxine and have side effects from the dyes in the pill, so that's a possibility. However, I think further work up is probably warranted.
1020296 tn?1251475359 doctor prescribed some medicines which includes baclofen, ramipril, clopidogrel, amolodipine , atenolol, atorvastatin and escitolopram. after taking medicines her pulse rate has gone to 45-50 range and blood pressure is still 160/120. I'd like to ask why pulse rate is going low..is it due to side effect of medicines..
Avatar m tn 13 months ago I had a HA. 100%blockage of the ALD. Stent was inserted. Prior to this event I had low BP, Low cholesterol, don't smoke, exercise and no family history of heart disease. Ef was 20-25 after the HA. last Echo put EF at 35-40. Stopped taking plavix after one year, now taking 81 aspirin every other day. Stopped taking beta blocker at one year. Still taking 2.5 Ramipril twice a day. My BP can run 95/65 & Heart rate 60 when resting.
Avatar m tn We know that blood pressure dynamics during exercise are well established. When heart rate increases with exercise systolic blood pressure rises steadily during exercise. Within certain parameters this is a desired effect. Systole BP may rise from 120 mmHg during rest to greater than 250 mmHg. At the same time, little change is noted in diastolic pressure. Typically there is very little change or a drop less than 10 mmHg.
Avatar f tn I have kidney failure (Gfr generally between 40 and 50 but recently closer to 40), and also crohns which has been in remission for years but has recently been shown to be very active. My problem is for about 12 months now I have been prescribed ramipril for my kidneys and high blood pressure, but in the last few months and weeks (it seems to me since crohns has become active) it is making me feel absolutely terrible.
Avatar m tn t sound like my heart but out of due diligence I should have a stress echo done. The exercise part of the test was fine - normal response to exercise, as expected because I cycle, had been lifting weights and used to do a lot of kickboxing. The backpain subsequently disappeared after a couple of manipulations by the chiropractor. It was the resting echo part of the test that suggested the enlargement of the left ventricle, The LV is about 6.3cm when relaxed.
Avatar f tn My cardiologist put me on ramipril a few wks back and after 10 days ran blood tests whic came back normal. this morning I woke up with diarriah and some serious kidney pain on the right side.It doesn't hurt when I urinate or have a bowel movement although certain body movements cause it to occur. My question is can this be caused by ramipril along with my lasix and potassium with a delayed reaction or buildup?
Avatar m tn Taking Ramipril In morning for several years. Recently started taking Laxido & banana (for breakfast). About the same time started coughing frequently but intermittently & became slightly breathless when walking. 2 days ago doctor called Emergency as I had persistent chest pain & burping. No heart attack but abnormal ecg, which however improved after being in A&E for several hours. Wondering if Ramipril + laxido + banana too much potassium?
Avatar m tn Thank you jrbon. Yes, we are completely aware the part/size of damage of the heart muscle will have the impact on the LVEF. You have mentioned the biggest part of recovery takes place between 6-3 months. After the HA she had, last week was the first time we took the echo, which is precisely 3 months and 2 weeks after the HA, with an increase of 2%. Is it too early to predict by looking at this measure? I heard the ejection rate anything greater than or equal to 50% is good.
Avatar m tn I am very slightly overweight, but exercise everyday for an hour on the stair master and elliptical trainer at moderate intensity. I weigh 205 pounds and 6ft 1" tall. Here are the results: ECG - Normal Carotid Doppler Carotid Bilateral - Normal, both sides clear, normal waveforms ECG Stress Test - Normal functionality. Reached target easily. No breathlessness. Echocardiogram - All normal, normal sizes and areas except left ventricle wall thickness moderately thick at 1.
Avatar n tn This person should cut out as much salt in the diet, and will prob be put on bisoprolol and ramipril...give it a year or so, they' ll be much better. I know, because it happened to me last May 2012. I'm so much better now. But I've worked hard on staying healthy. I.
544430 tn?1283712658 i am taken 5mg of ramipril and 50micrograms thyroxine,daily..... i have an occasional cough...the DR says it is caused by Ramipril but cant change my med because im been treated for Excema which i've had now for 18 mths..
Avatar n tn I just started to take ramipril at night and now my bood pressure is elevated in the morning. I used to take it in the morning and my bp was higher in the evening.
Avatar m tn I also tale predisilon ,Azithiopring,Ramipril,Aspring. But my Doctor says i have to take this drugs for ever. Now they stopped predisilon . can't be HSP cure?
Avatar f tn That's what we're wondering. The doctors said the ramipril is not just for blood pressure but is also for his weak heart to see if it improves the EF. They've sent him for additional tests and even recommended a higher dose of ramipril despite the fact that his oxygen level was 114 when he did the bicycle test. The doctor kept talking about him being in a state of heart failure which is very unsettling.
Avatar m tn As for your blood pressure during exercise, it is common for your blood pressure to increase with exercise (it is actually abnormal for it to go down). Your blood pressure should only be checked after you have been sitting, quiet and rest for 5 minutes. Hope that this helps.
Avatar f tn I have high blood pressure 170/90, I take ramipril 10mg, and I am seeing my gp on Tuesday, anyone got any suggestions that willl help me to get it under control. I am not over weight.
