all experts/members I am 64 year old man who is on medicine for HIGH BP, Diabetes and irrglar heart beat. I am taking Atenolol 25mg(OD),Ramipril 10mg(OD),Amlodipin 5mg(OD),ecospirin 75mg (OD),Telmisartan 40 mg(OD) for HIGH BP. I am taking Metformin 500mg(BD), Glimpride 1mg (BD) for diabetes beside taking Ayurveda medicine. I get -irregular heart beat every now and then which lasts for 24 hours.

5mg everyday, for to treat the diabetic nephropathy, i can get ramipril in my town but its 5mg ramipril capsule in the chemists, and his medications are over, so should i let him take the 5mg ramipril? my big concern is would the dose cause hypoglycaemia or any other effects as the dosage will be double the dose hid doctor prescribed? please help me on that, i will be grateful...thank you.

that is quite a high dosage of beta blocker and is likely to give the low pulse. Is the cardiologist aware of this pulse? The blood pressure medication is quite low and could be increased. Ask the Cardiologist if the beta blocker should be reduced and the Ramipril increased.

I have kidney failure (Gfr generally between 40 and 50 but recently closer to 40), and also crohns which has been in remission for years but has recently been shown to be very active. My problem is for about 12 months now I have been prescribed ramipril for my kidneys and high blood pressure, but in the last few months and weeks (it seems to me since crohns has become active) it is making me feel absolutely terrible.

29, albumine +++ and the doctor give me the drug that is telmisaratanHCT and tell me return after 2 week so i come back on that day and test same analysis the 2nd result is my creatinine lev, 1.38 and albumine lev, + finally why creatinine is still high and i am so confisuion???

Hello and hope you are doing well. Your blood pressure, urea and creatinine levels are within the normal range. Also, you are on telmisartan, belongs to the class of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors which may decrease the rate of decline in kidney function. However, levels of microalbuminuria above 30 are indicative of early kidney disease. Am not clear about the normal ranges specified by your lab. So, please discuss the possibilities with your doctor.

What exactly are the abnormal lab values that have lead to the diagnosis of MGUS and Proteinuria? Lab indicators of too much protein in blood and urine? If I am understanding correctly, they have no symptoms (other than possible tingling/numbness with MGUS), are not generally serious conditions, and are found quite secondarily of other lab tests. When you say, "...have felt like everyone else", do you mean muscle/bone pain, fatigue, and never feeling well again?

I just started to take ramipril at night and now my bood pressure is elevated in the morning. I used to take it in the morning and my bp was higher in the evening.

I live a healthy lifestyle (regular exercise, healthy diet). One year ago it was discovered that I had proteinuria. I had proteinuria on 2 subsequent tests and on my 24 urinalysis. I am confused by the drug RAMIPRIL. The leaflet in box and details in British Formulary list WEIGHT LOSS as a side effect (I have lost 6 kilos). On the Internet there are many letters regarding weight gain but nothing about weeight loss. Why is this?

This is accompanied by a foamy urine which could be due to proteinuria. Diabetes can affect the kidneys and cause nephropathy. The earliest indication of this is microalbimnuria. The hyperglycemia produces increased matrix production and thickening of the of the glomerular basement membrane (GBM). This causes the nephropathy. I was put on Ramipril 5mg as my BP was high. Wondering how long it takes to work. My pulse is low a 59 but my BP is still high. Is this normal? Im worried if they put the dose up my pulse will go even lower.

I am not familiar with Ramipril, so, unfortunately, can't speak to that. I've read posts here where people take a specific type of levothyroxine and have side effects from the dyes in the pill, so that's a possibility. However, I think further work up is probably warranted.

Your midwife will add your proteinuria levels to your maternity notes. The lowest is marked as a trace level, and anything higher is marked as one or more pluses. Ask your midwife to explain the result if you're not sure what it means for you. Depending on the proteinuria levels, your midwife may bring forward your next antenatal appointment. Also, I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure. I am currently taking levodopa and adalat xl and my blood pressure is controlled with restricted activity (140's/80's). However, when I walk short distances ie: bathrrom or kicthen my blood pressure shuts up to 160's/90's and above. What should be my next step medically? Hi there, I have always had bubbles in my urine, at least for the last 8 years. Recently I went to the doctor for a urinalysis because I read about the correlation between kidney disease and proteinuria. I'm unsure as to whether my bubbles are caused by protein. My test results indicated that no proteins were present in my urine specimen. My creatinine serum is 1.0. My GFR is 97.6 ml/min/1.73 msg. I'm wondering- will my GFR hold steady in the 90's?

Proteinuria caused by eating too much protein in your diet is, of course, temporary, and the proteinuria should diminish as you reduce the amount of protein you are consuming. Hope this helps. I would try cutting back your protein first and then consult a physician if it doesn't get any better.

Hello I have been diagnosed with LVH on echo and cardiologist said its ok and I am now on ramipril 1.25 mg. I have seen that ecg with inverted t waves and st-t but the doctors are brushing that away and saying to forget that. I am quite anxious and cannot trust.

My cardiologist put me on ramipril a few wks back and after 10 days ran blood tests whic came back normal. this morning I woke up with diarriah and some serious kidney pain on the right side.It doesn't hurt when I urinate or have a bowel movement although certain body movements cause it to occur. My question is can this be caused by ramipril along with my lasix and potassium with a delayed reaction or buildup?
