544430 tn?1283712658 ve read posts here where people take a specific type of levothyroxine and have side effects from the dyes in the pill, so that's a possibility. However, I think further work up is probably warranted.
Avatar f tn My cardiologist put me on ramipril a few wks back and after 10 days ran blood tests whic came back normal. this morning I woke up with diarriah and some serious kidney pain on the right side.It doesn't hurt when I urinate or have a bowel movement although certain body movements cause it to occur. My question is can this be caused by ramipril along with my lasix and potassium with a delayed reaction or buildup?
544430 tn?1283712658 i am taken 5mg of ramipril and 50micrograms thyroxine,daily..... i have an occasional cough...the DR says it is caused by Ramipril but cant change my med because im been treated for Excema which i've had now for 18 mths..
Avatar f tn I am confused by the drug RAMIPRIL. The leaflet in box and details in British Formulary list WEIGHT LOSS as a side effect (I have lost 6 kilos). On the Internet there are many letters regarding weight gain but nothing about weeight loss. Why is this?
Avatar f tn Ramipril is very capable of causing serious side effects including raising bp. It raised mine by over 80 points. The side effects of this drug can happen immediately or after a long period. Also I would question it's use in kidney disorders of any kind as it can damage kidneys and cause stenosis. Check out as much as you can about safer alternatives. As is common these days many GPs are unaware of the potential for damage that these drugs have.
Avatar f tn 5mg everyday, for to treat the diabetic nephropathy, i can get ramipril in my town but its 5mg ramipril capsule in the chemists, and his medications are over, so should i let him take the 5mg ramipril? my big concern is would the dose cause hypoglycaemia or any other effects as the dosage will be double the dose hid doctor prescribed? please help me on that, i will be grateful...thank you.
Avatar f tn I had to stop taking ramipril 1.25mg after a week due to various side effects. thurs I had severe shaking or chills etc. so stopped it on advice but 4 days later feeling bit better but I keep feeling funny. its like my head feels funny and the feeling like your lightheaded - going to faint or collapse but not quite and doesn't go away.
Avatar n tn I just started to take ramipril at night and now my bood pressure is elevated in the morning. I used to take it in the morning and my bp was higher in the evening.
1020296 tn?1251475359 that is quite a high dosage of beta blocker and is likely to give the low pulse. Is the cardiologist aware of this pulse? The blood pressure medication is quite low and could be increased. Ask the Cardiologist if the beta blocker should be reduced and the Ramipril increased.
Avatar m tn and everything came back normal. Also, my cholesterol is 137. I was taken off of the ramipril and put on 12.5mg of metoprolol twice a day. I started Monday and my heart rate hardly ever goes above 60 bpm; even standing and when I walk at a normal pace it stays in the 70's. I can't go for long walks without being exhausted, though today I was happy that I managed to get my heart rate up to 102 (at that pace it normally would have been at 118-124). I'm feeling tired often.
Avatar f tn Hello, If you Google for ' ramipril side effects ' or simvastatin side effects ' you will get more details. Ramipril has been indicated to cause sexual problems, but both these drugs can affect liver function and in turn affect sexual performance.Further more, statin drugs can cause muscle weakness and may lead to a drop in overall energy level.
Avatar f tn Hi is there anyone who can answer this for me. My mother in law is on ramipril and she has to have an angioplasty performed, should she stop this med before the test??
Avatar m tn One other thought, sometimes statins can have side effects I see she is taking Crestor and Ramipril check out thats not the cause .
Avatar f tn But generally yes the EF can sometimes go up, depending on the cause of the reduced EF. He should take the meds as prescribed and yes they all have side effects. Ramapril 5mg is not a very large dose, so it should settle. Woosy and fuzzy foggy head seem very common with these medicines. Also improvements in EF are a gradual process if they happen. It takes months rather than days to see any change. So stick to the docs orders! Go for further testing too. Has he had an Angiogram?
Avatar f tn I'm glad your BP is coming down. You were dangerously high and, actually, I hate to say it but you still are considered hypertensive. they will want to continue to lower your bp. I started bp meds the beginning of December. I noticed I felt very strange on the meds including dizziness and chest pain. For me, they were side effects of the medication. With your BP still being high, I'd check with the doctor. What medication did they start you on?
Avatar n tn After a long period of trying different combinations of medications I am now on 10mg of Ramipril twice daily which has not caused me any bad side effects, not even limp **** syndrome, and it keeps my BP at 120/80 like clockwork. Not all medications work the same for everybody but this is my saving grace. I understand Ramipril has a beneficial side effect of strengthening the interior walls of veins and arteries as well.
Avatar m tn Thanks for sharing and if there are any followup questions you are welcome to ask.
Avatar m tn My cardio gave me some samples of 10 mg coreg to take once a day and a prescription to fill if the side effects from the metoprolol do not get any better. The side effects from the metoprolol have gotten a little better - I don't feel as exhausted, though as I type this my heart rate is 52 bpm. Plus when I go walking I can't get my heart rate above 95 bpm. Does any one have any comments on the pros and cons of carvedilol versus metoprolol?
Avatar m tn You state what your heart rate is now, but what about your blood pressure. If your blood pressure is high and is then put to normal, your heart will not have to work so hard to push blood around your system. However, I had very high blood pressure for years and was also put on Ramapril. My blood pressure was higher than yours and I was on 5mg daily which seemed to be too much, it was reduced to 2.5mg. The only way to establish if the dosage is incorrect is to get your blood pressure measured.
Avatar m tn The only way to see is to visit your Doc and explain your symptoms. I think your meds are the key here but they shouldn't be given to you if they make you feel worse. The whole idea of meds is to improve you. You won't believe how many meds I've tried. For example, a few years ago my Doc said "I'm going to try you on Nicorandil, it's a blood pressure pill prescribed to old people and I've never had a complaint".
Avatar f tn m on Ramipril 5mg od, 81m ASA od and was prescribed Atenolol 25mg qam. Since reading the side effects I am very nervous to start this med. I love to run but am I at a high risk for stroke if I don't start this? BP readings are well controlled. Can I productively run, swim and bike still?
Avatar f tn his doctor put him on 40mg simvastatin ,2.
Avatar n tn I am 68 and taking 1.25mg Bisoprolol for high blood pressure and can't increase because of low pulse rate. I was also taking Ramipril but developed the terrible cough. My doctor agreed to me trying without this for a month. Two weeks in my BP is mostly between 125/67 and 159/75. The problem is that it does sometimes go higher and when it gets to upper 160s I get irregular heartbeat. I take garlic and Co enzyme Q10. What is the solution?
Avatar n tn Your pacemaker will help you out, let go. My husband and I read that if engaged in the act and the pacemaker jolts, the partner gets it too. SO, I say your partner should worry more than you!
