Ramipril and metoprolol

Common Questions and Answers about Ramipril and metoprolol

altace

Hi, can you tell us the difference(s) between Altace (ramipril) and metoprolol? What different effects do they each have that are different from each other? Are there any long-term bad side effects to ramipril? And your opinion to a combination of aspirin and Plavix to decrease the bloodclotting potential of just aspirin alone? Thank you. Ross I.
and everything came back normal. Also, my cholesterol is 137. I was taken off of the ramipril and put on 12.5mg of metoprolol twice a day. I started Monday and my heart rate hardly ever goes above 60 bpm; even standing and when I walk at a normal pace it stays in the 70's. I can't go for long walks without being exhausted, though today I was happy that I managed to get my heart rate up to 102 (at that pace it normally would have been at 118-124). I'm feeling tired often.

So, my cardio took me off of the ramipril and put me on 12.5 mg of metoprolol twice a day and in addition to my 12.5 of HCTZ. However, after a week of feeling exhausted, having a resting heart rate consistently in the low 50s, and not much higher otherwise, I complained during my follow up. My cardio gave me some samples of 10 mg coreg to take once a day and a prescription to fill if the side effects from the metoprolol do not get any better.
But I am an anxious person and was prescribed beta blocker(Metoprolol ER 50mg and Amlong which was changed to 25mg metoprolol ER and Losartan 25mg after 4 years). Yes I dont have any heart problems and nothing in my family and also not diabetic. My age is 40. Still taking metoprolol only and will go for a review soon and would sort things out. I am happy with metoprolol 50mg ER to Bisoprolol 5mg...
Sounds like you are connected to the best advice available, a cardiologist and lots of tests. Metoprolol is also prescribed for HBP, so you are getting two treatments for HBP... hope that has you BP down to a good range. Others may be able to come up with more comforting words than my opening statement, I hope so as most of us who have heart rhythm problems need to know that these are usually benign and while they cause us concern, they are not likely to do us any additional harm...
I'm also on aspirin, ramipril, and metoprolol. I started having moderate chest pains in Nov/Dec 2012 and my BP spiked to 150/110 max with a 130/90 min. I had also noticed that my blood was clotting almost instantly after a wound. I have a cat with claws so blood-letting is common in my home. In February, my cardiologist refused to renew the prescription for Pantoprazole, so I discontinued use on 2/4/2013.
5 mg, Atorvastatin 10mg, Aspirin 75mg,and Telmisatan 80 mg every day. I am also suffering from Hypothyroidism since 1980 and taking 125mg Thyroxine Sodium. I suffered from Gout in the year 2007 and am taking Allopurinol 100mg (tab.zyloric). Please advise if the medication stated above is correct. My breathing becomes heavy on physical exercise. My age is 60 years and I have recently superannuated from a responsible Givernment service. SATISH23.
Plavix works much like a blood thinner to keep blood cells from sticking together and forming additional clots. The Metoprolol and Ramipril are both used to control your blood pressure by slowing down your heart rate and keeping your heart from being "over worked". These can be difficult to get used to and can cause fatigue, dizziness and a feeling of being disconnected.
Some of these medications should be uptitrated by his cardiologist to allow for the maximum dose as he tolerates them (namely, Ramipril and Metoprolol). His Plavix should continue for either several months up to 1-2 years depending on the type of stent he received at the time of his percutaneous coronary intervention (bare metal stent vs. drug-eluting). As with most medications, daily compliance with all of these is imperative for maintaining healthy cardiovascular fitness.
I've been on metoprolol since October and I've been having ICE cold toes and fingers. The cold feet can be so annoying, socks don't help. Cold just radiates off of them. Are there any beta blockers that won't cause these ice cold toes?
who changed me to Quinapril twice a day because he said it was better for kidneys and added Metoprolol ER 50mg / day because my pulse was always around 90. My BP was usually 120 / 80 with the Ramipril. It's now down to 105 / 65 and my pulse is down to 70. BUT I can't stand how gassy the Metoprolol makes me. I am walking around passing gas all day without being able to control it. I also have had terrible dreams and think I am feeling depressed.
Hi i have recently noticed that when i squeeze one of my nipples a dark browny/bloody discharge comes out. I am 28 years old and I currently take metoprolol for high blood pressure, I have read that some blood pressure medication can cause nipple discharge, do you know if meteprolol is one of these? I am a bit concerned and havnt been to my gp yet.

The next day after I left the hospital my cardiologist performed nuclear imaging with stress test and the results were normal (no dead heart muscle or any dark area in the pictures). Ecg also looked normal as well. I've been on Ramipril, Metoprolol, and Aspirin since. I was told to go back and see him in a month. Yesterday suddenly I felt very dizzy and fainting and for a few minutes my heartbeat went way up. So, I went back to the ER to get checked.

All was pretty normal with the exception that I have mild diastolic dysfunction which a cardiologist told me is not considered heart disease. I have high blood pressure and take Metoprolol to lower my heart rate and also ramipril. Recently I have had a couple of EKG's that have shown non-specific ST abnormality but no one seems to be concerend about this. Most recently (last couple of months) I have noticed that I get alot of what feels like skipped heart beats.
Following surgery and recovery I lost 37 lbs and have kept it off and I was put on a drug regimen of metoprolol and ramipril (ace inhibitor). After 6-months we cut the amount of metoprolol in half. My typical blood pressures for the last 2-years have run 115/65. Suddenly in the last 2-weeks my pressures have shot up and I'm now running as high as 170/100. My stress test is clear.

Then then started her on lovonox 30, carvedilol and ramipril. We didn't see another doctor until Monday before her test at 8am then she returned to her room at 11:30. At 2:30/3pm we got a call from her pcp stating she needed to be taken via EMS to another hospital with a nationally ranked cardio unit for a catherization. After many bouts with a nurse giving us the wrong times and many other problems with that nurse, she was taken up yesterday at 7:30am with the procedure at 10am.

He has had two other jobs since Dollar General and has lost them both due to his every buddy is picking on me attitude. He is 55 years old and has worked his tail off without this problem all of his life. Could someone shed some light on this. Could the drugs that he is taking cause this behavioral changes.
I am on Lipitor, plavix and metoprolol. Prior to surgery for the AAA, I was on an ACE inhibitor(ramipril). Surgeon switched me to beta blocker post surgery. I am intolerant to NSAIDS, otherwise would have been taking aspirin, too. Treated for GERD for years.
