At day 22, i took raltegravir from the box but im not sure whether i drank the pill with the water or not. Normally, I remember the pills that I drank through glass of water but i cannot remember this time whether i drank this pill with glass of water or not but i counted pills and i concluded that their numbers are as expected.
I searched couple of papers and i concluded not to double the dose in the case of i used that pill.
I am currently taking truvada and isentress (raltegravir) is this enough I couldn't get my prescription for dolutegravir filled...is this pep enough?
In the following day, I finally could find a very good hospital with a specialized area for HIV treatment, and the doctor was quite surprised that they had given me just a Truvada. She added a Isentress (raltegravir) to my Pep treatment. But I could realized that she was quite worried because I had had only Truvada in the begining of my treatment and in the very deadline edge.
Should you be with her again or have other partners in the future who disclose to you that they have herpes, I would suggest that you ask them in they have had recurrences or not. If they do, this means that they are likely to recognize their recurrences and therefore you can avoid sex if an exposure has occurred. This too helps to reduce risk for transmission.
I started PEP (Truvada and ISENTRESS which is Raltegravir Potassium Tablets) in 47 hours. I also saw some case about PEP with blood transfusion. A 12 years old girl had a blood transfusion with hiv blood, she took PEP( tenofovir, emtricitabine, ritonavir-boosted darunavir (subsequently changed to lopinavir) and raltegravir) after 24 hours and had these PEP for three months. This girl also has cssr5 dna which is a dna that hard to infect hiv.
should I take Isentress again at 7;30 am so that I maintain the 7:30am/7:30pm timeline for Isentress? The pharmacist and lots of online resources stressed the importance of taking the pills on time each time.
I had a risk exposure and had a base hiv test 4th gen ab/ag 25 hours after pep or after 2 truvadas and 3 isentress. Could this affect the negative result of the base test? Is the base test considered conclusive? The only risk exposure is no longer since the other party hiv test was negative and the exposure was low risk.

Hi, after being exposed to HIV 15 days ago, I'm on day 14 of PEP (Truvada & Isentress). I wonder if facial lipoatrophy (sunken cheeks, temples, eyes, etc) can develop as early as two weeks of being taking these meds. I'm a male model and I make a living of my face. Last week I was fired from 3 photo-shoots in a row. I don't know if I'm really experiencing facial fat waste, or if my face just reflects all the emotional distress I've been through for the past 2 weeks.
I had a sexual encounter and they have put me on truvada and isentress for 4 weeks. It is one week over but I have very bad stomach. I usually have a chronic gastritis due to helyco bacter that I have not managed so far to get rid of.
My doctor said I could take Nexium 20 which is my usual medication for this matter but to try no to take it everyday beacaus of interaction with isentress but he is gone on vacation now and I have a really upset stomach and I dont know what to do.

Be advised that pep is given to those that have been exposed to a tested HIV positive person. It does not affect masturbation.
I started PEP 2 hrs later (truvada, norvir, raltegravir, and preszita), my initial results are negative. I do not know the viral load of the patient yet, i can only pray that it is low. I know odds are 0.3% but that doesnt settle my fears, i am young and want to live a happy healthy life with KIDS! I put two fingers in the anus of one of them (who, I am almost sure, is HIV+), practiced rimming and kissed his balls and his underwear (both were wet, not sure it it was because of water, gel or of pre-cum though the two first ones seem more evident). This guy cleaned his anus and his genitals before we had sex, so I thought it was not too risky. However, the second guy penetrated him later and saw blood on this penis. I don't think that I saw blood when I penetrated him with my fingers.

Hello - I understand that oral with a person who is HIV+ is low risk, but would it be a good idea to take PEP anyway? My concern is the side effects of the Isentress and Truvada combination. I have the medication, but if infection is very highly unlikely, I think I shouldn't. Friends are telling me not to worry and doctor says it is up to me (which I know). Opinions?
I appreciate your blunt response. I was prescribed Truvada + raltegravir (PEP) but could not obtain raltegravir in Europe. To be fair, I called the US PEP hotline who told me that I could take Truvada as PEP as there are no studies that prove it’s ineffective, so I didn’t start it without advice from the US HIV experts. I agree my anxiety is an issue but I legitimately was seeking an answer.
I panicked and 13 hours later I was at a clinic where I received PEP (Tenvir which is the same as Truvada and Isentress). The doctor told me to take Tenvir once a day for 30 days and Isentress twice a day for 30 days, I want to know what is my risk of exposure to HIV, and did my risk require PEP? Does PEP lower my risk to 0? Do I need to finish my PEP treatment?
m not sure if I had any cuts or abrasions plus I had figured one of the guys. I freaked out and rushed to the nearest emergency room and I was put on pep within almost 2 hours after (truvada and isentress) but I read pep is not 100% and not really tested for non occupational exposures ....am I at high risk?????
