Avatar m tn If you truly have gynecomastia then the only thing that will help is surgery. My son had gynecomastia and he had surgery and looks great. If this is going to mess with your life, then have the surgery!
Avatar f tn Lymphnodes clear and had five weeks of radiation treatment. Tried Tomxifene but made me ill. Dr, recommended Raloxifene. does Raloxifene prevent the recurrance of my type of breast cancer? Marian This discussion is related to Aromatase vs. Raloxifene.
Avatar f tn So I feel comfortable waiting for the flashes to settle down before trying the Raloxifene and if needed, Effexor. Dr also gave me a back-up prescr for Clonidine, which she says is good for flashes. I'm going to ask her about Celexa and Lexapro in lieu of Effexor. I don't want to take any of that cr*p. I always seem to get the bad side effects from any meds I try. The only bad thing about waiting to start the Evista is that I have already jumped from osteopenia to osteoporosis.
Avatar m tn s gynecomastia for sure because fat deposits are symmetric. Gynecomastia can often be unilateral. You probably have "permanent" gyneomastia on that side. Surgical excision is the only remedy I am familiar with for that. If occurring due to a particular medication or frequent pot use, cessation of that agent may possibly reduce it (at least reduce the tenderness part).
Avatar f tn A woman with ADH as well as other risk factors may have a risk that is high enough to consider medications. The medications currently FDA approved as chemoprevention for breast cancer are tamoxifen and raloxifene. Decisions to use a medication as chemoprevention would be made based on weighing the risks and benefits to the individual patient.
Avatar f tn Hai, would like to know it dangerous for 10 year old boy is having lump that is underneath the nipple?
Avatar m tn I have had this problem for about 6 months and I am wondering whether it is a side effect of the drugs i used to take for my epilepsy - Tegretol Retard and Epilim Chrono. I took them for about 3 years and have been free of them for about 3 years also. Is this Gynecomastia, cancer or another syndrome and will it disappear soon enough. I have been worried about going to a doctor because i am embarassed to tell my parents. My friends comment on them and I am embarrassed to do anything.
Avatar m tn Your future wife should love you for who you are! not because you have gynecomastia. Only surgery will work!! It won't effect you from having sex or children.
Avatar m tn Hello! I am 25 year old male who looks like 15-17. I've had gynecomastia since i was 15 and also havent grown since that age. Tbh my body havent really changed at all. My bones didnt grow larger or increase of muscles though i trained alot and went through a mandatory 2 years of national service. I still look very young and feel very depressed because of this.I researched about this online and found about hypogonadism. Is that the case or am i suffering from something else? Thank you!
Avatar m tn Yes, since you smoke and you are overweight you are in high risk for ED (among other much more serious conditions). But gynecomastia may indicate a hormonal disorder, so you have to wait and see the results. In some cases no apparent cause can be identified. If you need a lifetime fix or not depends on the exact nature of the cause of your symptoms. So, again you have to wait for the results of the test.

Avatar f tn ” “ The causes of the gynecomastia can result as a side effect of numerous medications and drugs of abuse, for example: Corticosteroids and anabolic steroids. Antibiotics. Herbals like dong quai, tea tree oil, and lavender. Opioids (narcotic drugs) Estrogen (including those in soy products) Heartburn drugs.” https://www.medicinenet.com/gynecomastia/article.
Avatar m tn I am a 26 year old male that suffers from Gynecomastia. I have had this issue pretty much all my life but I am sick of trying to hide it. I am not overweight infact I regulary excersize and go to the gym but nothing seems to work. Its not because of any prescription drugs because my brother suffers from it also. I was wondering if the Gynecomastia pills can reduce this. The surgery is quite expensive and I would like to avoid it if possible.
Avatar m tn 5 mg capsule every other day for 5 years and I am very pleased with the results. When I developed gynecomastia (which is minor and I ignore) I lowered the dose of AVODART to one twice a week which is 8/month (from 15/month). AVODART has a long half life. Will 8/month still work? I wrote to GLaxo who make Avodart and they said what you said "ask your physician". My physician is very busy and I don't want to waste his time.
Avatar n tn gynecomastia .
Avatar n tn Hi, I went to a Mastologist to see if I had gynecomastia, since my nipples appear puffy, but they aren't hard, the nipples themselves are soft, and after I went to the consultation, I was told that it's not gynecomastia, and it's only fat. But my question is, can just fat cause the nipples to be puffy like it would appear if it's gynecomastia?. Additional information: I'm 18 years old and was overweight at around 12 years, when it appeared the puffy nipples.
Avatar n tn I am often called by patients who go out of the country for surgery and are experiencing problems. They end up paying more for follow-up care and revising procedures, than they would have if they had the procedure performed locally.
Avatar m tn Slight gynecomastia, fit and healthy and its noticeable. I visited the doctor about lumps behind the nipples, and got ignored basically. I would like to go again, but am afraid i will be treated the same way. Is there anything i can demand, or can i bypass the GP and see a specialist?
Avatar m tn Thanks for your information but I would like to confirm is there any pain for gynaecomastia? Other than that, as for the problem of frequent urination, I had done the urinalysis test thrice but all the results came out negative. Does anyone has any idea of what I'm going through?
Avatar f tn My mom 50 yrs old underwent mastectomy in the right breast for 0.7cm DCIS In-Situ. The lymph nodes tested negative and they said lucily the cancer has not spread to any part of the body. (We were scared of lumpectomy because of the radiation follow-ups and also thinking the cancer might return) She has tested ER+ though. Is this something to be very worried of? Is there a chance of the cancer occuring in the other breast?
Avatar f tn 2weeks ago in followup they found 5*7mm mass and in coreneedle biopsy they found atypical hyperplasia and do surgery for exisional biopsy, and administer raloxifen, but i am not sure to use it because i know it dosen't affect on breast cancer or prevention of it what must i do?
