Avatar n tn Hi, My son has just come out of Intensive Care for the second time and has severe croup. I too am looking for answers. He has seen an ENT, cardiologist, respiratory specialist all with no answers. I can't sleep at night for fear of an attack. He is on pulmicort nebs twice a day, Intal forte, nasonex and maybe singulair if decided by drs this week. Any advice would be so welcomed.
Avatar f tn I have experienced a small pleural effusion and lung collapse, and Swollen fingertips so I’m wondering if it’s lymphocytic bronchiolitis. Would my ct and X-rays be enough for a diagnosis?
Avatar f tn I was recently dignosed with Respiratory Bronchiolitis Interstitial Lung disease and even after talking to the doctor I don't know what to expect from this disease. Also what are the sympthoms besided shortness of breath and chest pain? Because I currently have several other sympthoms such as joint pain, muscle pain, severe fatigue, headaches, ligthheadness, and over feeling of illness. Also, are there any treatments for this disease? My doctor said nothing works.
Avatar n tn m very allergic to many things), asthma tests w/wo albuteral (positive for exercise induced asthma), many chest x-rays (positive for hyperinflated lungs), Sinus catscan (positive for some chronic damage). During the last 7 months, I've tried sinus rinses, Protonix, Prevacid, Symbacort, 2 different antibiotics, Singulair, Allegra, several steroid injections, various different steroidal nasal sprays. None of these medications have provided ANY relief. I'm at my wits end.
Avatar n tn But he/she has raised the question of what we call fixed or irreversible airways obstruction, for which there are a number of causes (including bronchiolitis) in the context of long-standing asthma. More information may be required before further speculation on what has transpired in your lungs since October and this may require a CT Scan or a lung biopsy. I am encouraged by the bronchodilator response of a 16% increase in FEV1.
Avatar m tn d not heard of this before but i found some information for you , it looks like it is still in early research stages for MS.... "Multiple sclerosis Animal data LA has been studied as an effective therapy in a rat model of multiple sclerosis and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. ALA dose dependently prevented the development of clinical signs in this model.
Avatar f tn I had to get stitches last night, and was given 5-6 shots of epinephrine and lidocane. I told the intake nurse I was taking synthroid (which I presume implies thyroid problems). I felt a little "unusual" afterward (pounding heart, feeling calm and detached..), and was googling the side effects of the shot.. an article said this: "Additionally, epinephrine and lidocaine usually aren’t used in patients with thyroid disease, or disease of the kidneys or liver.
1840402 tn?1355432565 His symptoms could be due to Bronchiolitis, which is a common lung infection, often caused by a virus. Bronchiolitis can cause bronchial spasm and repeated coughing, more so in the night. For therapy bronchodilators are given as syrups or inhalers. On initiating therapy with this, the cough symptoms are likely to increase in an effort to bring out the secretions. Repeated steam inhalations can help loosen up and bring out the secretions, though this should be done prior to meals.
Avatar f tn I have been having shortness of breath for a month I had a chest x ray which showed mild hyperearation of the lungs I then had a full pulmonary function test it was normal except for a mild increase in residule capicty....my doc says that I do not have copd/emphasima at this point and if I quit smoking it will not progress....ok so if this is true why Iam I short of breath?
Avatar f tn In my experience, the anesthetic without epinephrine is shorter acting, but it's been plenty for me for fillings and if it wears off, they can just give you another shot, no problem. I wouldn't worry about that at all.
Avatar n tn His cough could be due to Bronchiolitis, which can cause bronchial spasm and repeated coughing, more so in the night. For therapy bronchodilators are given as syrups or inhalers. Avatar n tn There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Epinephrine is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Avatar m tn The side effects stated are for the duration for the prescription period or are they long lasting ?. my doctor has recommended that i take it for 6 months (pardon me for asking such questions as i am curious to know as much as possible before i start the medication.thanks again for your time.
Avatar f tn So far I always got eye drops without epinephrine/or something equal to epinephrine, but this last eye doctor did not want to use any drops at all. He examined my eyes without dialating them.
1047019 tn?1256719961 More than likely you didn't have an allergic reaction, it's so rare for that to happen. The dentist probably injected the novacaine directly into the vein instead of into the gum like they were supposed to. This happened to me 2 years ago and I seriously thought I was going to do. If it wasn't injected into your vein then you are probably just hypersensitive to it. Your allergy to wheat and gluten probably has nothing to do with the novacaine.
Avatar n tn Hello ladies so its been a while since my last post and today i figured I'd ask for advice you see i have a 2 year old and my little nugget who is 6months old well when she was a newborn it seemed she would have a bit of a hard time breathing in her sleep it sounded like she would gasp for air with a high pitch squeal and omg i wouldn't sleep at night just being scared and worried she would stop breathing..

Avatar f tn re at the dentist and you need/want an anesthetic ask for one WITHOUT epinephrine. The medication generally takes a little longer to "kick in" and wears off faster, but your dentist will work with you for maximum comfort.
Avatar n tn Epinephrine is basically like adrenaline and for an adregenic afibber such as my self it is a definate no-no. I even have to ask for the Epi free form of novacaine at the dentist office. I would definately see a Dr and tell him my contidions and see what they say. De sure to tell him about your MVP.
Avatar f tn Just ask to have a shot without it, and they will give it to you. They have to have these shots available (without epinephrine) for people who have serious heart problems, blood pressure problems when having high anxiety like some people have when they go to the dentist.
Avatar n tn The symptoms could be due to Bronchiolitis, which can cause bronchial spasm and repeated coughing, more so in the night. For therapy bronchodilators are given as syrups or inhalers. They may cause dilatation of the airways, relieve bronchospasm and hence may be causing cough. This is important as it helps to bring out the secretions thus clearing the obstruction and the infection. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
