t breathe and he just makes a wheezing sound with every intake of breath. When this occurs, I drive as quickly as I can to the ER where they give him racemic epinephrine and dexamethasone. He has had a complete work-up with ENT and lung doctors at CHOP as well as allergists. The conclusion is that this is just something that he will eventually outgrow.

Over the past few months I have been putting off major dental treatment as I had been finding I was having marked reactions to local anaesthetic -drop in BP, near sycope and increased heart rate -obviously made worse by anxiety as well! Even when the dentist tried different chemicals without adrenalin etc I was having unpleasant symptoms.
How have other people found they react to dental treatment and what ways have you found to cope?
m wondering with my heart problem how dangerous is it to get a dose of epinephrine and how will that affect my heart? I had an epinephrine dose in the early nineties due to a breathing problem, but that was before I was diagnosed with the mvp and atrial misfire.

A placebo-controlled phase 1 clinical trail of 37 subjects studied the effects of oral racemic LA in multiple sclerosis. Subjects were randomly assigned to 4 groups, including placebo. The other 3 groups received LA 600 mg twice a day, 1,200 mg once a day, or 1,200 mg twice a day, for 14 days. The study found LA to be generally well tolerated, but peak plasma levels of LA varied among subjects.
I had to get stitches last night, and was given 5-6 shots of epinephrine and lidocane. I told the intake nurse I was taking synthroid (which I presume implies thyroid problems). I felt a little "unusual" afterward (pounding heart, feeling calm and detached..), and was googling the side effects of the shot.. an article said this:

I had a 2nd trimester miscarriage the day that I had a mole removed at my dermatologist. They used Epinephrine and Xylocaine and when we received the autopsy report it revealed that my baby was perfectly normal and healthy without chromosonal issues prior to him dieing in my womb that day. Has anyone experienced this or known anyone who has? I researched on the web and found many warnings about pregnant women receiving Lidocaine from the dentist but not what they gave me.
So far I always got eye drops without epinephrine/or something equal to epinephrine, but this last eye doctor did not want to use any drops at all. He examined my eyes without dialating them.

It is a serotonin and nor epinephrine reuptake inhibitor. The name of the neurotransmitter is nor epinephrine it is different from epinephrine.
Most of the side effects occur during the period when one is taking the medication. But the important thing to remember is to follow the doctors instructions carefully. To reduce the incidence of side effects it is always started with a low dose and then it is gradually increased.
Can anyone here tell me if ms has any effect on either of the hormones epinephrine or norepinephrine?
U usually feel like that with the epinephrine in the numbing agent..it usually goes away. I'm a dental assistant so I see these kinds of things.

Hi there- I have the same thing going on- I can see my pulse - it is very strong-it moves both breasts and shakes my stomach,this started 3 yrs ago-Dr said it was anxiety and upped my xanax dosage. But I think this came from Levaquin (an antibiotic). It is very scary to me-had 2 echoes,holter monitor,event monitor,3-4 ekgs,an an aortic ultrasound.Everything came back normal.I was on 4 mg of xanax a day and still saw the heartbeat-sooooo,not anxiety.
My wife suffered over 10 years with intestal problem (deverticulites) they even priscribed her treatment for worms,I suffered shortness of breath and slight chest pain,after 6 months of tests, result, nothing wrong with you!!! How i cured my self, it was stress, and shortness of breath was mostly when southerly hot winds with Sahara sand. well sir won't keep you longer,Tks for your advise, hope to report back if any inprovement. I am new to this forman , I start treatment in Jan. the Dr told me my dosage is pegasys 180 micrograms once week and ribapack 400-400 2 ties a day. Does this sound like what most of you all are taking. He told me it will be 24 weeks of treatment. do any of you all feel well enough to work while you take these meds? Do you drive ? I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis or allergic reaction to the chlorine in the swimming pool water. Treatment includes epinephrine, antihistamines, or cortisone-like drugs. Take some oral antihistaminic like Benadryl and apply calamine lotion. Itching can be controlled with cold packs or commercial topical agents that contain menthol, camphor, eucalyptus oil, aloe, antihistamines, or cortisone preparations.
