Avatar m tn I saw the doctor a few times and he put me as GERD and aeroflagia and prescribed Pariet 20 mg (rabeprazole sodium) and I am bit better but just lying on my side in bed (carpet or futon is no problem) is enough to bring up the gases. I had intense noticeable heart beats sometimes before treatment- now lying on my side gives me noticeable heart beats but its not really unpleasant.
Avatar n tn Can my mom take 40 mg of pantoprazole instead of 20 mg of teva-rabeprazole because she is out of teva-rabeprazole. It is extremely dangerous to substitute one drug for another. Your mom needs to go back to the doctor who prescribed her the teva-rabeprazole and tell him or her that her prescription is finished. The other drug you're asking if your mother should take i.e. the pantoprazole is also twice the amount of the other.

Avatar n tn Mix 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate, not baking powder) in an 8 ounce glass and drink it. If sufficient quantities of acid are present in the stomach, bicarbonate of soda is converted into gas, producing significant bloating and belching within 5 or 10 minutes of drinking the mix. Little or no belching is suspicious for low stomach acid.
Avatar f tn I know some people have said there are no side effects from Cortef and that it's probably my dose is too low, but I now have at least 10 of the side effects listed on the prescription information website. These also all start within minutes of taking a dose (I'm currently taking 25mg). I get headaches, become extremely thirsty, heart pounding, very dizzy and weak, feel like I'm going to pass out.

Avatar f tn I am free of HCV but I too have long term side effects. It startedwith pain in joints and fatigue. After a couple of years I could no longer work due to what I later found out was multiple chemical sensitivities. They were severe. I stayed home for over 10 years and completely eliminated fragrances and other products with VOCs from my life. Slowly over years of avoidance I felt like I was getting better. (I was turned down for Sadi and humiliated).

Avatar f tn He got a stomach flu the following week, his BP went way up again (170/100) and he went to the doctor. the doctor gave him bystolic to try.. to see if the side effects would be any more manageable for him. he has been on it for 3 days now and his BP has changed from 170/100 to 155/110 to 150/117 today... so the top # is going down, but the bottom # is going up... and I'm worried.

733744 tn?1337950650 all meds have side effects including aspirin. But i agree that BP meds can be more harmful but inevitable though. sodium valproate is known to cause ovary cist, thinning the hair and gain weight. But no one can argue with your pdoc as to why he chose this one. unless you are consulting a GP which is wrong the British medical guide always choose one of 3: tegretol or dapakote (sodium valproate) or lithium these are the 3 most classical that went for years. I myself am on antipsychotics only.
