612551 tn?1450022175 I was recently prescribed 100 mg extended release beta blocker to increase my long time used 50 mg. Is it better to take 50 mg every 12 hours rather than 100 mg every 24 hours? If no, should I take 100 mg in morning or before bed?
Avatar f tn I am taking methadone 5 mg tablets 3 times per day and Ultram 100 mg in the morning, 50 mg in the afternoon and 100 mg extended release in the evening. The reason for the mixed up dosage on the ultram is I am trying to get off of the extended release due to the cost. The problem I have is that before when I was taking 100 mg Ultram ER twice a day with the methadone as listed above my pain was controled, but since I have tried going down on it I have pain all the time again.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried the extended releExtended release Xanaxase Xanax? I know it has been on the market for a bit but I haven't heard any feedback.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Has anyone tried extended release Topamax or Topiramate? It is called Trokedi XR. I am going to try it because my memory is so bad on Topamax. My neurologist said it might be better with Trokedi XR but it is very expensive. So if you can tell me before I buy it I would appreciate any feedback.
Avatar m tn I definitely need to go up at least to 50 mg, but should I do a 50 mg Metoprolol once a day, or can I take the 25 mg tablets twice a day (every 12 hours). My question is basically this: Would it be OK if you took a sustained-release medicine (that is supposed to stay in your blood for 24 hours) twice a day? Would there be a cumulative effect that could be dangerous perhaps?
Avatar n tn I am a 29 yr old male, had a superficial duodenal ulcer in 2005, My doc had suggested Rabeprazole sodium 20mg which worked well then, he suggested i use it when ever i felt stomach burning or nausea. I thought I would take just 200 mg tonight? what are your thoughts? Thanks! Carin I perused thru many old posts, but did not find infor on the Extended release ultram...
Avatar n tn Question : Can my mom take 40 mg of pantoprazole instead of 20 mg of teva-rabeprazole because she is out of teva-rabeprazole. It is extremely dangerous to substitute one drug for another. Your mom needs to go back to the doctor who prescribed her the teva-rabeprazole and tell him or her that her prescription is finished. The other drug you're asking if your mother should take i.e. the pantoprazole is also twice the amount of the other.
Avatar f tn I take 50 mg extended release to slow down tachycardia due to Afib. So my GUESS, is yes beta blocker is lowering HR. Too Low? I'd think, again guess, anything under 50, unless just waking up from a restful sleep, is too low. But I am not trying to argue with your medical advice, I am myself "just" a patient, a long time sufferer from Afib. This has been going on for 20 years or more and while it was under control for a few years I am now in permanent Afib.
Avatar n tn Toprol XL is metoprolol succinate and is an extended release prescription...the immediate release is metoprolol tartrate. If he was prescribed 100 mg Toprol XL once/day it should be the same as taking metoprolol tartrate 50 mg 2/day. We are not physicians nor pharmacists and you should consult one or both about drug substitutions and dosage equivalents.

981443 tn?1250115802 Opana ER, an extended-release form of oxymorphone, is available as tablets in strengths of 5 mg, 7½ mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, and 40 mg. Some resources assert that 2, 12 and/or 15 mg IR tablets and 25, 36 and 50 mg extended release tablets will be introduced although apparently the timeline on that is not known to the public at this time. Opana Extended-Release tablets are based on the TIMERx system developed by a consortium led by Endo and Penwest.
Avatar n tn lately, i cant brush my hair on the left side because it is so sensitive. Am i on the wrong meds? What do you think of the hydro 15mgs extended release verses the 7.5 mg of hydrocodone?
Avatar m tn I was taking 100 mg of atenolol when it went to 132. My doctor changed me to 50 mg a day since my b/p is much better now. Did this affect my sodium or do I just need to eat more salt?
Avatar n tn Ahh Pristiq, The new SSNRI. Actualy just a slight tweek on Effexor XR. Interesting fact about Pristiq..... Wyeth's newest Antidepressant medication Pristiq, is actually kind of a sister drug of Effexor XR. In fact in terms of the active ingrediants molecular structure they are about 98% the same. You know why the Drug Company Wyeth would produce a drug so much like Effexor XR?
Avatar m tn s from yesterday to today. Is this normal? I believed that the xl on the metoprolol was extended release, and that the dosage should do the same thing as far as hr and bp. by has gone from 116/68 to 138/89.
612551 tn?1450022175 I have been taking a beta blocker, 50 mg Metoprolol ER (Extended/Slow Release), for several years but have with my cardiologist approval today refilled my BB prescription with Metoprolol Tartrate (normal release) to be taken at 25 mg twice a day (every 12 hours). My reason is driven mainly by the fact the Tartrate is about 1/6th the cost of the Suc (ER).

Avatar m tn Thank you Teak for replying. Its big relief reading your reply. Thank you very much. I had sex with a prostitute. To eradicate my worry, I finally decided to go for a HIV test. I tested HIV non-reactive (non-reactive means HIV negative right ?) in 10 week. but couldn't stop worry as I tested in 10 week and not after 3 months. Also I'm taking 'Rabeprazole' 20 mg everyday empty stomach before meal. That day also, I took medicine and meal before HIV test.
Avatar f tn Would adderal Extended release be a better option for me? I have bipolar disorder, my psychologist describes it as bi-polar hypomania. I have always been an excessive sleeper no matter how much sleep I get I’m extremely tired. I take klamicital 200 mg daily and trazdone 100 mg at night along with remeron. I started the adderal 4 days ago, the first day I felt extremely jittery but today it’s better. But after the adderal “wears” off I am even more tired.
Avatar m tn If it is not extended release, I would cut them in half and do that every day for a couple of weeks, and then try to stop taking them. If you stop cold turkey and detox, it will increase chance of seizure and withdrawal effects. You will feel nervous for a while, have you looked into a daily SSRI or SNRI for anxiety? It is a much better way to go than xanax for long term, and not addictive.
Avatar m tn If a slow release is available (affordable, usually cost more for the meds I have taken) trying 50 mg once a day, or normal release 25 mg twice a day seems like a reasonable discussion to have with your EP. I was taking Propafenone (generic Rnythmol) 225 mg every 8 hours (yes, three times a day) to keep me in normal sinus rhythm following a successful electrocardioversion.
