Avatar n tn Can my mom take 40 mg of pantoprazole instead of 20 mg of teva-rabeprazole because she is out of teva-rabeprazole. It is extremely dangerous to substitute one drug for another. Your mom needs to go back to the doctor who prescribed her the teva-rabeprazole and tell him or her that her prescription is finished. The other drug you're asking if your mother should take i.e. the pantoprazole is also twice the amount of the other.

Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 20 yr old (underweight) chinese female. I've been experiencing acid reflux for almost 3 months now. It sort of happened overnight with incredible stomach churning. At first I thought it was stomach flu until I realised that my throat was feeling weird and I was getting air involuntarily popping at my throat. (I hardly ever burp before this.) The docter prescribed me with Omeprazole for 2 weeks.

Avatar n tn I think it was, but the Dr. said she would let me know it there was a problem. I am currently on rabeprazole for a duodenial ulcer. Not working. I used to be on Prevacid for excess stomach acid, but stopped using it when I went on the rabeprazole. I have an appt. on Monday with Dr. and hope he can find a solution. In the meantime I am unable to eat and see no relief in site. Any suggestions? I am losing my mind !!
Avatar m tn Prilosec, Nexium and other PPIs work by reducing the amount of stomach acid produced by the glands in the stomach lining. These heartburn treatments also suppress the levels of nitric oxide in the cells lining the inside of the circulatory system. Lower nitric oxide levels have been associated with heart problems.
Avatar f tn Nitros oxide and oxygen mixed together. Happy gas lol.
Avatar f tn Anyone used nitrous oxide as a pain alternative during labor? My doctor suggested it today as an option for me because I'm not a fan of the epidural because I go completely numb and can't feel anything. I'm wondering if any of you have any experience with it.
Avatar m tn My89-year-old father just endured a series of excruciating catheterization procedures (he also has an infection) with no pain med. Nitrous oxide is a great tool for dental procedures; why can't it be used more widely? It seems that Great Britain uses it more; why do U.S. doctors continue to ignore the suffering of their patients?
Avatar n tn My question is can they use nitrous oxide for such a procedure? How safe is it? What are the other forms of anesthesia commonly used on toddlers at the dentist?
Avatar m tn My son started taking NO ten days ago. Shortly thereafter he began to experience "events." I witnessed two Grand Mal Seizures in one day. ER test results were negative. He has now been told he is epileptic and will be taking medication the rest of his life. I truly believe he has been misdiagnosed. My research indicates a link between excessive NO in the system and seizures. However, finding a neurologist who is open to the idea has been difficult.
Avatar m tn thanks. Have had electroversion 5x in 7yrs. Dr. put me on magnesium oxide 400mg every other day. What is its purpose/fuction and do I still need it. Last e.

When I announced my pregnancy to the 3 doctors I work with, 2 of them told me get out of restorative and go polish teeth (im certified for this too) or go upfront and help out.. one doctor (the main one i work with) told me she needed a doctor note stating i cannot work w/ n2o or take xrays.. my note said "duration of pregnancy"..

Avatar m tn ENT did a scope of throat, said it was inflammed and swollen and suspected LPR, gave me a different PPI rabeprazole and took it for 2 weeks. Still no improvement, having throat pain only on right side. Then gastro doctor did a 24hr pH monitoring test, mannometry test and barium test on me, I was off all PPI and stomach meds for 3 weeks before doing the 24hr test. Test result came back negative for acid reflux or hyperacidity.

Avatar m tn I live in Japan and while my care is excellent, it`s sometimes difficult to talk to my doctor. I`m taking Rabeprazole 10mg but the recommended dosage is 20mg in the US. I`m tall and weigh more than the average Japanese person, though I`m not fat. I`ve been taking it for about 3 weeks and I still have the saliva problem but it seems a little better. I also have allergies and am wondering if I should see an allergist about this problem, the saliva.
