Avatar f tn I hate to hijack this but I posted two questions and dont see them on here anywhere. also how does one ask the doctor a question.
Avatar f tn Tried Omeprazole 40mg, Pantoprozole 40mg, nexium 40mg, rabeprazole 20mg with domperidone, vocinti 20mg.
Avatar n tn You have to weigh the benefit of the drug against the side effects. PPIs have also been known to intefere with absorbtion of B12 and other vitamins.
Avatar f tn She was prescribed Kytril to take for 2 days with 12 hours interval to help with side effects. She still had bouts of vomiting during the night. Can Kytril be taken for another day or 2? Thank You very much. We're very concerned that she hasn't felt better so far.
Avatar f tn I found one study that says TSH increases in response to domperidone. "The rate of increase varies with the functional state of the thyroid, as confirmed by results obtained in cases of euthyroidism, primary hypothyroidism, subclinical hypothyroidism and subclinical hyperthyroidism." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/4094840 That said... Is TSH the only thing that's being tested, in relation to your thyroid?
Avatar m tn Glad the doctor prescribed Calcium... but she needs the magnesium in order to absorb the calcium properly. And it should be taken separately - at a different time of day with a meal. For example, she could take the calcium at supper time (best because women absorb vitamins better at this time) and the Magnesium with breakfast. D3 is also so important to build bones - I was found deficient in D3. So glad that things are going better for you. Give your wife a hug from me...
Avatar n tn Lexapro is actually helping me in curing my disease however the side effects are worrying me alot. I am now on 40 mg dose of rabeprazole and 10mg of Lexapro. Is the use of lexapro causing this ulcer related symptoms? Can i reduce the dosage of lexapro to 5 mg by breaking the tablet into 2 ?
Avatar m tn Amoxicillin-500mg bd and Metronidazole-400 mg td with 2.Rabeprazole+Domperidone bd, 3.Sucralfate anesthetic antacid suspension td for continuous 10 days helps to stop progression of disease.Further Multi vitamin and peptic enzymes may be prescribed as supplementary medications. Most of the people get relieved with this complete prescription.
Avatar f tn Domperidone has some dangerous side effects so you need to make sure you are following your doctors instructions. Is the Ph study the only testing he has had?
1442059 tn?1340240952 The main thing they are worrying about is a condition called tardive dyskinesia which causing involuntary movements. If you develop this from metoclopramide then it is usually permanent even if you stop the drug. I believe you are living in Canada, and you might want to talk to your doctor about taking domperidone instead of metoclopramide because domperidone is safe for long term use.
Avatar n tn That's a pretty open question. Chinese medicine practitioners claim that they have a fair amount of success with curing some types of gastroparesis, but a lot of it has to do with the reason for the condition. Is there an underlying condition in your case? (Diabetes is the most common, but there are others.) I have heard of a few successful cases of naturopaths working with the condition to improve it.
Avatar f tn I had a couple of adverse side effects, one of which caused me to discontinue the drug. On about day 4 of therapy my breasts became enlarged and exceedingly painful. This continued to day 7, when I discontinued the drug (on the advice of my doctor). This occurred very quickly (in ~48 hours) and was extreme (couldn't wear most of my bras and the pain was severe). Almost a week later my breasts are still not normal.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with gastroparesis 2 years ago as well. My doctor also prescribed Domperidone from a Canadian pharmacy. It has helped. It's worth asking your doctor about. Reglan has so many uncomfortable side effects.
Avatar n tn Hi, If you have a discharge from the urethra, a yeast (candida) infection needs to be ruled out. It is possible that you became infected befor symptoms became obvious in your girlfriend. Is it possible that the infection she had has not been completely eliminated? How was it determined that the infection had disappeared? Pain in the testicles and a whitish discharge are reasons enough for meeting your doctor and pursuing further treatment after the requisite tests.
Avatar m tn Stop the aspirin! I was taking only sporatic NSAIDS and I ended up with gastritis on top of my GERD. You do not want to develop gastritis or develop stomach bleeding.
Avatar f tn t keep the website address) with all intentions of ordering it, however, it listed such bad side effects that I decided not to order it after all. My husband warns me that our government has implements the FDA for the protection of American citizens and that I should not only not order anything from another country that has not been approved for sale here, but that I should not trust any doctor that wants to bypass our FDA and prescribe drugs in this manner either. He's right, you know.
Avatar f tn ) Unfortunately, Reglan is notorious for its side effects. If these are too much for you (and they sound like they are), ask the doctor to switch you to Domperidone. The drug is NOT available in the US, but is first-line treatment for GP pretty much all over the world. You can find Canadian pharmacies which sell to the US (prescription required) through PharmacyChecker.com, which is recommended by the AARP.
Avatar n tn Can my mom take 40 mg of pantoprazole instead of 20 mg of teva-rabeprazole because she is out of teva-rabeprazole. It is extremely dangerous to substitute one drug for another. Your mom needs to go back to the doctor who prescribed her the teva-rabeprazole and tell him or her that her prescription is finished. The other drug you're asking if your mother should take i.e. the pantoprazole is also twice the amount of the other.
Avatar f tn I saw my GI specialist and he recommended I start taking reglan again because the gastroparesis might be causing the reflux. However, I am aware of the dangerous side effects of reglan and am wondering if I continue to take the prevacid daily without reglan, could I still develop Barretts esophagus if the prevacid is stopping all the acid production in my stomach?
Avatar f tn I highly recommend an herb called shatavari, which mimics many of the effects of domperidone. Note that this is something you should keep in mind IF you decide to get off of the Domperidone, since they shouldn't be taken simultaneously. Acupuncture has been show to help improve the symptoms of the condition, so you'll want to investigate that route. In fact, the points used for gastric stimulation were derived from points used by acupuncturists for conditions such as dyspepsia.
229857 tn?1319029907 Domperidone is also used for women who wish to breastfeed adopted babies, so it should help for getting your milk supply up. It is apparently very safe with very few / infrequent side effects.
Avatar f tn Currently my prescribed med i take are spironolactone 100 mg/day, bupropion 400 mg/day, domperidone 40 mg/day, rabeprazole ec 20 mg/day, arthrotec 100 mg/day, Trazodone 200 mg/day, ducosate sod 200 mg/day, and citalopram 60 mg/day. exlax is extra strength and i take two/day and the diurex is 200 mg and I take 1/day. Just a little history on me for such a short question I want to ask, but I want you to have all the info.
Avatar f tn Now I am on a Canadian med- Domperidone (Yes like the champagne), which have less side effects than reglan but helps w/nausea. I feel ok still not exercising b/c I'm too tired still. So, now my GI doc believes it is time to try surgery! I kinda agree. I'm scared of the thought but feel it is my best option at this point. I have met with a surgeon here in Boston, who is doing the TIF procedure (the only MD in Boston doing it that I know of), he has done 20 TIF's.
Avatar f tn metoclopramide (metoclopram) IS a Reglan generic. As for side effects, about 10% of people show some type of side effect, and the longer you use it the more likely it is you'll have some side effect. For most people in that 10% category the side effect is fatigue and restlessness. However, other side effects are possible and you should contact your doc at the first sign of trouble.
Avatar f tn awesome on nausea, side effects are hell!) except domperidone stays out of your brain so the only side effects you get are hormonal (light/irregular periods, bigger boobs - bad if you're a guy! - and, yup, breast milk sometimes, ha, oh boy). Oh, and when you start up on domperidone, a lot of people notice serious stomach cramps, but from what I've heard it pretty much always passes in a couple weeks. It did for me, and it was SO worth it!
Avatar m tn Personally, I think that reglan has a lot more scary side effects (tardive diskinesia) than domperidone, and for some people, domperidone works a lot better. Is his diet low-fat?
