Ive only heard of proton pump inhibitors reducing the effect of Clopidogrel (plavix) but only by a tiny amount. I do have to question though if Zantac is a proton pump inhibitor anyway? Isn't it just a H2 receptor blocker?

I'm a 20 yr old (underweight) chinese female. I've been experiencing acid reflux for almost 3 months now. It sort of happened overnight with incredible stomach churning. At first I thought it was stomach flu until I realised that my throat was feeling weird and I was getting air involuntarily popping at my throat. (I hardly ever burp before this.) The docter prescribed me with Omeprazole for 2 weeks.
After six years post MI and ef varying between 25-35%, my cardiologist now feels that I should shift from aspirin(150)+clopidogrel (75) to warfarin. Two years back he did tell me that he is double minded on whether to put me on warfarin. But this time he appears to be very sure and has insisted me to go for warfarin.
His justification is "that is what literature says".

Hi All, I am a 30 year old male suffering from obssessive thoughts, I had a stomach ulcers 6 years back and i use Rabeprazole 20 mg daily as a maintenance therapy, My GP suggested escitalopram (Lexapro 10mg) daily, after 2 weeks using the medicine i feel much better and my thoughts have come down, however 2 weeks into the medication i started having severe stomach burning sensation especially in the upper stomach behind the breast bone and the center of the rib cage, i recognise its the same fee
s like if I want some Clopidogrel (another form of anti platelet med) I could ask for either Clopidogrel or Plavix, Plavix is the brand name the drug company trades the medication under.
My father has gone thru angiplasy few months back and he started getting Red or purple spots on the skin. He is taking deplatt and atorvasatin. I heard this can be due to deplatt(Clopidogrel). I think it was, but the Dr. said she would let me know it there was a problem. I am currently on rabeprazole for a duodenial ulcer. Not working. I used to be on Prevacid for excess stomach acid, but stopped using it when I went on the rabeprazole. I have an appt. on Monday with Dr. and hope he can find a solution.
In the meantime I am unable to eat and see no relief in site. Any suggestions? I am losing my mind !!
