Avatar n tn Can my mom take 40 mg of pantoprazole instead of 20 mg of teva-rabeprazole because she is out of teva-rabeprazole. It is extremely dangerous to substitute one drug for another. Your mom needs to go back to the doctor who prescribed her the teva-rabeprazole and tell him or her that her prescription is finished. The other drug you're asking if your mother should take i.e. the pantoprazole is also twice the amount of the other.
Avatar n tn I am a 29 yr old male, had a superficial duodenal ulcer in 2005, My doc had suggested Rabeprazole sodium 20mg which worked well then, he suggested i use it when ever i felt stomach burning or nausea. I have been using Rabeprazole for 5 years now, was workin good, recently my symptoms were back and i started taking 2 doses 20mg each daily.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 20 yr old (underweight) chinese female. I've been experiencing acid reflux for almost 3 months now. It sort of happened overnight with incredible stomach churning. At first I thought it was stomach flu until I realised that my throat was feeling weird and I was getting air involuntarily popping at my throat. (I hardly ever burp before this.) The docter prescribed me with Omeprazole for 2 weeks.
Avatar n tn Hi All, I am a 30 year old male suffering from obssessive thoughts, I had a stomach ulcers 6 years back and i use Rabeprazole 20 mg daily as a maintenance therapy, My GP suggested escitalopram (Lexapro 10mg) daily, after 2 weeks using the medicine i feel much better and my thoughts have come down, however 2 weeks into the medication i started having severe stomach burning sensation especially in the upper stomach behind the breast bone and the center of the rib cage, i recognise its the same fee
Avatar n tn I think it was, but the Dr. said she would let me know it there was a problem. I am currently on rabeprazole for a duodenial ulcer. Not working. I used to be on Prevacid for excess stomach acid, but stopped using it when I went on the rabeprazole. I have an appt. on Monday with Dr. and hope he can find a solution. In the meantime I am unable to eat and see no relief in site. Any suggestions? I am losing my mind !!
Avatar n tn i have had alopecia that comes and goes since i was 14 years old,and i now am 20.is there anyway i could have developed it from my mother who has psoriasis?
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if Alopecia can effect testing results?? I forgot to mention to my doctors that years ago I had an episode of stress and was diagnosed with Alopecia. Can that give me a false negative? i've tested at 4 months negative. Am I going to have to go back at 6 months?? Please advise, anyone that has knowledge on the subject. thank you.
Avatar f tn I know that this condition is unpredictable but that certain risk factors are associated with developing severe alopecia and alopecia totalis/universalis. Of these, I do have allergic rhinitis but it is not horrible (unless I am around cats), i do not have other forms of atopy. Now that the condition has spread to another part of my body (nose), I was wondering if I am falling into the category for a poor prognosis. I have had no loss of my scalp hair throughout this ordeal.
1578576 tn?1297133437 Update: Yes, there is a relationship. I now have both vitiligo and alopecia areata. The doctors have confirmed that there is a relationship as well as the alopecia areata registry. In case anyone has the same question...now you know :) Thanks! Avatar m tn speaking for myself i do believe that minoxidil is a total failure and even so this may be controversial for its effect, still regarding the side effects it is not debatable, i ve tried many supplements and herbal lotions before and nothing changed, i lost hope but the PRP recaptured my interest, the effects are somehow deluding, some of the cases i saw improved pretty well (including alopecia areata) while others failed, the percentage of androgenic alopecia improvements is not pretty sufficie
Avatar f tn i jst discovered 2 lil' bald patches and I have PCOS.
Avatar m tn I noticed that there is a small patch on my left chin, where beard is scanty. It is not completely gone but the hair is scanty and the patch is obvious. I went to my dermatologist and he told me it is Alopecia Areata, though it could be in "initial stages" and it is "too hard to say anything". He told me to apply fluticasone cream twice a day, for a month. And if the hair doesn't grow back, he will give me steroid injections. Should I get those injections?
Avatar m tn My dermatologist preformed a scalp biopsy a few weeks ago and she told me that I was diagnosed with early stage female pattern alopecia. However when I read the pathology report it does not seem clear to me. In fact it seems somewhat contradictory. Any help is welcome! Results REPORT Corrected **** THIS IS AN AMENDED REPORT **** CLINICAL DATA: ?
Avatar n tn Has the alopecia simply been reported as persisting or what is the % reported of permanent hair loss?
Avatar m tn ENT did a scope of throat, said it was inflammed and swollen and suspected LPR, gave me a different PPI rabeprazole and took it for 2 weeks. Still no improvement, having throat pain only on right side. Then gastro doctor did a 24hr pH monitoring test, mannometry test and barium test on me, I was off all PPI and stomach meds for 3 weeks before doing the 24hr test. Test result came back negative for acid reflux or hyperacidity.
Avatar n tn Traction alopecia is a form of alopecia, or gradual hair loss, caused primarily by pulling force being applied to the hair. The use of thermal or chemical hair straightening, and hair braiding or weaving are examples of styling techniques that place African American women at high risk for various "traumatic" alopecias. Traction alopecia is reversible if diagnosed early, but may lead to permanent hair loss if it is undetected for a protracted period.
Avatar m tn He just recently (at 21 years old) was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and Alopecia. The steroid shots are not helping the alopecia, and he has been put on Synthroid. I am trying to help him figure things out with the Alopecia. Doctors just keep giving him the steroid injections but after a year NOTHING has gotten better. Any information would be truly appreciated.
Avatar f tn My 11-year old daughter was diagnosed with alopecia a few years ago and with the exception of the initial "outbreak" has not had any trouble with hair loss until about 9 months ago. In that nine months she has lost only a small, dime-sized patch of hair on her head, but cyclically loses and regrows her eyebrows and eyelashes. She has had her thyroid checked and has, in the past, been seen by a dermatologist.
