oxycontin

8265858 tn?1403378544 i,ve had a very hard road with addiction.the 3 yrs i was on suboxone were normal and productive. i quit suboxone ,i was down to 2 mg a day anyway no w/ds relapse came and i was off to the races again.taking 2 mgs of sub vs a handful of something else makes sense to me regardless its my decision if i choose to go back on subs. i,m trying not too ,i respect your opinion please respect mine.i,ve told no one to take suboxone just giving my opinion how my experience was on it.
Avatar n tn I never took full prescribed dose of 3 8 mg/day Suboxone after quitting + 200 mg Oxycontin/day. I also took in halves & just weeened off. Prior experiences w/ other Dr's/clinics made me feel like they were perpetuating the Suboxone. Again - ask your Dr. or get other professional opinion.
214607 tn?1287677559 I have been on the forum for about a year now. I am currently taking Suboxone and trying to rid myself of a 3 almost 4 year, 1600mgs a day, oxy contin addiction. I have had a few real attempts at quitting, but I pray this is it for me. I hope all of my dear friends are well and I love and miss you all, and I welcome all new comers...good luck and love to all...
Avatar f tn As some of your know, I have been using suboxone 16-8mg/day for about 1 year now, to get off of my DOC- evil oxycontin. I have been tapering my dose - and i am feeling pretty crappy right about now. It makes it harder that i have no one to taper my dose and dispense it for me, But as encouraged by others - I write everything down. But there is always this voice in the back of my head saying, "come on, alittle bit more wont hurt you" I am taking 2mg /day right now.
Avatar f tn ll have to agree with these latest posts. The suboxone is like a last resort. There are many, many who are addicted to it and say it is harder to get off than their DOC. If you have kicked the getting high part and mental stuff with it, you may want to wean yourself off slowly and the withdrawl is not nearly as bad. Except that is hard to do with oxys. I wonder if you could switch to vicodins or hydrocodones to tapper with.
Avatar f tn I am assuming that he will have w/d symptoms if his brain is not flooded with oxycontin on a steady basis. The fentanyl patch is the strongest medication in the world and he does not want this b/c for some reason should he have to go off this, he could not go through such intense w/d because subs won't be strong enough to cover this, only methadone will according to the suboxone doctor on here.
Avatar m tn Theres quite a few of us ex-suboxone ppl along with a bunch of ppl currently on sub wondering all the same things you are. So just know that there are always people here than you can come to about your questions and concerns that have been in your shoes and will tell you the truth. I personally had a fairly positive experience, somewhat moderate w/d's, not easy at all but not as bad as I was expecting either.
3060236 tn?1340594292 I totally agree with using the full opioids to get off the suboxone...suboxone is 70% stronger then full ant. From what I am seeing I have been on subs longer then anyone I know, There are docs who are using the finishing off where u started method to get off subs... think I a going to go for it!
Avatar m tn I spent 9 months and about $2000 on Suboxone!!! I have realized that Suboxone is a maintence medicine if you cannnot keep yourself from using. I just wanted to be done with pills and had no urge to go back. I go to my Sub doc on friday, tell him I am quitting on Sunday. He gives me a script that cost $10 to fill. It is tuesday, I have taken .1 mg of clonodine in the morning and .1 mg clonodine at night and I feel great. I am actually headed to to gym right now. I guess my point is...
Avatar m tn its really hard, and msot truly cant honestly say that, i know i couldnt for almsot the first whole year, yeah i was clean but i knew if i could get some or was fofered for free there was a good chance i would be railing it up..
Avatar m tn I have started taking the drug oxycontin (about 1month) -which I am ABSOLUTELY for my job next week for good (so no need to tell me it is dangerous, I am well aware and I will be quitting the drug asap).
Avatar f tn s a lot easier to deal with these suboxone withdrawals and I know I can make it through with some help. I just need to know how long until these weird feelings in my head will go away? I also feel BRAIN DEAD.... I liked doing suboxones because it made me feel lightweight and full of energy. I was more sexually active and more talkative on it. I also have a small case of ADHD so I don't know if that has something to do with how I react to it.
864730 tn?1239484706 When it comes to suboxone/subutex it seems the lower the dose you can get down to before quitting does help lessen the w/d's to a degree. I personally was on sub for 5months, started at 8mgs and tapered down to about .25mgs, just a tiny little crumb before I jumped. Although it wasnt easy by any stretch, I didnt find it quite as hard as coming off methadone or oxycontin.
Avatar n tn hey i have a question...has anyone ever had after quitting oxycontin full body shakes?
Avatar f tn Hello, I've never posted my problems on a forum before and I'm a little nervous about it. I've had a problem with oxycodone for about 2 yrs now. I am prescribed pain meds for 2 herniated disks but I've been taking the pain meds since before then. I want to quit on my own and I've quit here and there a few times for a few weeks but somehow end up taking them again. My bf of 3 yrs also takes them. Which I think makes it even harder to stop.
Avatar n tn I am coming of 1/12 strip of suboxone. i started with a whole one +, then every 2 weeks I cut back 1-2/3-1/2-1/4-1/8/1/10/1/12. I have som MS Cotin 30. When the withdrawels get bad.I take 1. (about 1 every 30 hrs.) I am now on day 5. I would think that the MS Cotin shouldn't be a problem as I am only taking 1 every day to 1 1/2 days until the suboxone is out of my system, then I will just fall off the MS Cotin. Shouldn't be withdrawal from them as they are spaced out so far. Opinions?
Avatar f tn Yeah in america thats what they are doing also but what the wont admit is that suboxone does help with pain quite a bit.
Avatar n tn yea i planed oni going on suboxone when i get down to a small amount of oxycontin. i cant go on it now because i get sick everytime i try becasue i have to many opiates in my system. i was wondering if you knew anything about suboxone ? what amount i should be at before i start the program ?
Avatar f tn I'm not too familiar with oxy or suboxone, but I take norco, and I hear that suboxone is a good treatment if used correctly. I know it's hard to stop opiates, but you could try tapering if he's willing. It's a little easier than going cold turkey, but takes a lot of dicipline.
Avatar f tn Hi I dont know if anyone can help me but i am hoping someone can, In Jan 2007 i was diagnosed with Giant Cell Tumor (one in a million they say) in the T6 T7 vertabrae by the time they had found it i had fractured my spine. When i left hospital they put me on Oxycontin 20mg and Oxynorm 40mg it has now been well over a year and i am still on them. They are taking over my lifoe andi dont want that no more i want my life back.
Avatar n tn There will be no withdrawal with the Suboxone since you are only on it for such a short period. I was on it 16 days, and I had no withdrawal. So, once the physical is over, be very careful of the mental withdrawal, i.e., cravings..etc. You should have a plan in place to deal with that.
Avatar m tn I was a chronic user of both oxycontin and oxycodone. It was prescribed to me for a shoulder injury. I have never used illegally. My dr. never tried to stop or taper me down only the opposite. Within two years I was up to 360 30mg ocodone and 60 60 mg oxycontin a month not to mention soma and 3 xanax bars a day. I never filled the xanax or the soma due to the fact that I had already realized what a monster the pain meds had become (thank god). I had spoken to the dr.
