Avatar n tn I am taking Quinapril and atenolol and one asprian a day I had open heart surgery in 1999 I never really had high blood pressure but my doctor said this was the normal for heart patients. I feel very tired all the time and have had some kind of chest pain that doesn't show any problems have had resent angio and stress test is ther mabe a better med.
Avatar m tn Have been on amlodipine and quinapril for about 6-7 years as well as other meds. My blood tests came back fine except for my RDW which is elevated. My NT-ProBNP was only at 6 pmol/L so very low. The Cardiologist immediately ruled out coronary disease - he said I was too young (40yrs old). Said it could be Atypical Angina that was causing the chest pain but no way to test accurately due to my age and said he he could not tell me it wasn't PAH.
Avatar m tn Showed mild RAE and Moderate LAE and my RV was upper limits of normal. Have been on amlodipine and quinapril for about 6-7 years as well as other meds. Avatar m tn Methadone has a slow metabolism and very high fat solubility, making it longer lasting than morphine-based drugs. Methadone has a typical elimination half-life of 15 to 60 hours with an average of i would say about 22. However, metabolism rates vary greatly between individuals, up to a factor of 100 ranging from as few as 4 hours to as many as 130 hours, or even 190 hours. So it's hard to say.
Avatar m tn The water solubility of bilirubin allows the bilirubin to be excreted into bile. (Bile then is used to digest fats.) Total bilirubin, if I remember correctly, is the conjugated hemoglobin, since there is also another portion that is not conjugated. What the elevated total bilirubin means at this point is 'something' is going on, but you may need more information before your doc can determine the cause.
Avatar m tn The main requirements for them are (1) high IFN-inducing activity, (2) absence of side effects, (3) wide spectrum of antimicrobial activity, (4) broad therapeutic security and, (5) good solubility in water and biologic liquids. IFN inducers stimulate IFN production in different cells and organs, and that determines the strategy for their application. Amixin (OOO "Lancepharm," Moscow, Russia) induces IFN-?/? production mostly in T cells. Cycloferon (NTFF "Polysan," St.
Avatar n tn However, factors that can affect absorption include oral pH, salivary enzymes, lipid solubility, and molecular weight (molecules may be too large to pass through the mucous membranes). A sublingual product, specifically created to ensure effective absorption, is recommended.
Avatar m tn my cholesterol is under control and at decent levels My blood pressure was borderline high in the past and I have been taking quinapril for a while now. (max dose). My blood pressure was better at ~ 120/90. I also take bupropion xl and was taking olanzipine. I have stopped the olanzapine, after long term use. Coming off the olanzapine, I have had more anxiety and more emotion, and have not slept very well. After stopping olanzapine, my BP was checked and was now high again at 148/110.
Avatar m tn I am thinking of holding off, telling my doctor what my resting pulse and bp is (I already take quinapril, 5mg per day). I have business travel coming up over several weeks and I think I will ask for a 30 day heart monitor test. I wonder how a 24 hour holter shows "normal" but now the doctor wants me on toprol? He said I can continue swimming but my performance won't be as good. And that I might have to drop quinapril if my bp goes too low. I will be taking 30mg (the lowest dose).
Avatar n tn (By the way, although losartan is currently being researched in Johns Hopkins clinical trials, other ARBs such as telmisartan are probably most effective given their increased lipid solubility and thus increased tissue penetration.) I strongly encourage you to visit www.marfanlife.net and find the very lengthy thread titled "Losartan" or something to that effect. Probably some of the most important reading of your life.
Avatar m tn the brain is affected quickly as alcohol will cross what is called the blood-brain barrier due to its solubility. this can compromise involuntary actions such as heartbeat, breathing and gag reflex. organs such as the liver and pancreas can suffer tissue destruction resulting in everything from lowered function and scarring to complete organ failure. for diagnosing existing damage, your doctor can order bloodwork including a liver panel to check things like enzyme levels.
Avatar n tn Insulin glargine is a human insulin analog that has been designed to have low aqueous solubility at neutral pH. At pH 4, as in the LANTUS injection solution, it is completely soluble. After injection into the subcutaneous tissue, the acidic solution is neutralized, leading to formation of microprecipitates from which small amounts of insulin glargine are slowly released, resulting in a relatively constant concentration/time profile over 24 hours with no pronounced peak.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have been on Levothyroxine since July 2011, 50 MCG daily, also 5mg quinapril daily since then. I was under the impression that synthroid improves cholesterol levels. My doctor told me. He also recommended fish two or three times a week, and lamb otherwise. I eat red meat once or twice a week and salmon three times. Physically, you would not think I need to be on these meds. I am thin and athletic, a swimmer's body. I work out six days a week.
Avatar m tn 5mg 2 per day, Omeprazole 20mg 1 per day, Furosemide 80mg 1 per day, Ferrous Sulfate 325mg 1 per day, Quinapril 40mg 1 per day, Hydroco/apap tab 10 mg 6 per day, asprin 81 mg 1 per day, Clonazepam 0.5mg 3 per day. He doesnt eat much and he has alot of trouble going to the bathroom the other way.
Avatar f tn I had been taking Ramipril for years. Went to a new Dr. who changed me to Quinapril twice a day because he said it was better for kidneys and added Metoprolol ER 50mg / day because my pulse was always around 90. My BP was usually 120 / 80 with the Ramipril. It's now down to 105 / 65 and my pulse is down to 70. BUT I can't stand how gassy the Metoprolol makes me. I am walking around passing gas all day without being able to control it.
Avatar m tn Hi & Welcome! A BB King fan, eh? Well, Congratulations on your 3 Days off Subs! While the majority of people I've known (including myself) to come off Bupe experience w/d's b/w 24 & 48 hours , some have reported that it 'ramps up'/intensifies between 72 - 96 hrs. Have you had any kind of opiate habit before? If not, it's just possible that you might experience milder w/d's than someone w/ a longer history.
Avatar m tn Because of its small size, Ru can be easily conjugated to any protein ligand using standard chemistries without affecting immunoreactivity or solubility of the protein. In a typical agent-detection assay, a sample is added to a mixture of capture antibody-coated paramagnetic beads and a Ru-conjugated detector antibody. After a short incubation period, the analyzer draws the sample into the flow cell, captures and washes the magnetic beads, and measures the electrochemiluminescent signal.
Avatar m tn t really have anything to do with fat solubility. Sometimes this happens easily, sometimes not, sometimes never for the really unlucky, but that's not common, but it is a good reason not to fool around with this. Better safe than sorry.
4031436 tn?1349148172 Hi Mylah. Some notable points to consider: The potassium to sodium ratio is of greater importance than just the the lower intake of salt in regards to heart and general body functioning. A ratio of 4:1 is recommended. Sodium (NOT from table salt, restaurant or "Industrial" foods, but from natural sources such as celery and carrots) assists in the solubility of blood minerals, helps repair hardened arteries, is a vital component of the lymphatic system.

Avatar m tn My D3 level went back up to normal. Meanwhile (long story) I had to go on low dose quinapril, the first time on BP medicine. While the doctor advised me on D3 I asked him for a thyroid blood test. A month later on my next visit he said I have to go on thyroid medication. I have the paper showing my TSH at 7.5. I did not look into the details. He said he will prescribe the lowest dose of thyroid medication for me and that I must see him in November for another blood test to check the levels.
Avatar m tn Hey there & Welcome! Congrats on coming off the Subs! Subs tend to be a lot less predictable in terms of return of energy & sleep than methadone or other synthetics that store in bone & other tissues because it has a much more variable fat solubility ratio from person to person. This means that in one person who's on it for a year, the subs might not store as rapidly in tissue as another person who does it for the same amt. of time at the same dose.
Avatar m tn Karenmaria, Hi & Welcome. Naltrexone will not 'increase' endorphin production or stop cravings. It will block opiates that you might take after detox. They give it in tablet form or in a monthly injection called 'Vivitrol'. As eagle 101 mentions Subs & Fentanyl are rough kicks. However, Methadone (particularly long-acting Methadone called LAAM) has the longest half-life.
