Avatar m tn Have been on amlodipine and quinapril for about 6-7 years as well as other meds. My blood tests came back fine except for my RDW which is elevated. My NT-ProBNP was only at 6 pmol/L so very low. The Cardiologist immediately ruled out coronary disease - he said I was too young (40yrs old). Said it could be Atypical Angina that was causing the chest pain but no way to test accurately due to my age and said he he could not tell me it wasn't PAH.

Avatar m tn If you search 'ketoconazole' online, the first link that popped up for me is from the NIH (National Institutes of Health in DC) and the second one is from the website 'rxlist', which is pretty good imo at explaining medical/scientific/pharmaceutical stuff at a high level but not completely over my head. Rxlist seems pretty well balanced, and I usually go there when curious about some medication I'm supposed to take.

Avatar m tn Nervous System Disturbances The NIH states that coma or convulsions could be a sign of Tylenol overdose. According to the RxList, such nervous system involvement is rare, except in the case of a massive overdose or if the person is also taking or has overdosed on other medications that may interfere with the nervous system. Coma can also occur during an overdose if the patient is going into liver failure.
Avatar f tn It can also cause fever and chills. The steriods do mask the sysptoms of chemo. rxlist has info about it.
Avatar n tn Stroke might refer to a blockade in some of the brain arteries (ischemic stroke) or to a bleeding of those arteries (hemorrhagic strokes). I think that Coumadin, being an anti coagulant, may cause strokes of the second type, in particular if associated with high BP. From the RXLIST: "Potential adverse reactions to COUMADIN may include: Fatal or nonfatal hemorrhage from any tissue or organ. This is a consequence of the anticoagulant effect.
Avatar n tn 09%), 2 X daily for 3 days prior to surgery. After looking on the RXlist medication information site, it says that Xibrom should be used only 24 hours prior to cataract surgery. Any longer could cause corneal adverse events......what kind of events? I'm really nervous about surgery and am beginning to question if I want to go through with it at this time.....What are preferred anesthesias? What do you think about injections, etc......
Avatar n tn This is what I scouted out on Rxlist . com , which is a decent site. Do a little research on the web from reputable sites and you'll get a clearer picture considering your own personal health situation. ----copied from RxList's site----- General: ROXICODONE® is intended for use in patients who require oral pain therapy with an opioid agonist. As with any opi-oid analgesic, it is critical to adjust the dosing regimen individually for each patient (see DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION).
Avatar m tn my cholesterol is under control and at decent levels My blood pressure was borderline high in the past and I have been taking quinapril for a while now. (max dose). My blood pressure was better at ~ 120/90. I also take bupropion xl and was taking olanzipine. I have stopped the olanzapine, after long term use. Coming off the olanzapine, I have had more anxiety and more emotion, and have not slept very well. After stopping olanzapine, my BP was checked and was now high again at 148/110.
Avatar m tn Benzodiazepines can very well be addicting meds, they are a schedule class III drug, the same category as Vicoden. From rxlist "Use of benzodiazepines, including lorazepam, may lead to physical and psychological dependence." So i would definitely talk with your doctor before stopping these meds, you might have to do a slow taper. Best of luck to you!
Avatar n tn You could try doing a search on the internet. rxlist might be a good place to start. They usually disclose what medications are indicated for. Did you challenge your doctor on the choice of med or mention your concerns?
1679876 tn?1304743615 I suggest to read the entry on Advert in RXLIST since it also can increase BP in addition of other issues that may be relevant to you. Is your cardiologist aware of all your medication?
Avatar m tn I am thinking of holding off, telling my doctor what my resting pulse and bp is (I already take quinapril, 5mg per day). I have business travel coming up over several weeks and I think I will ask for a 30 day heart monitor test. I wonder how a 24 hour holter shows "normal" but now the doctor wants me on toprol? He said I can continue swimming but my performance won't be as good. And that I might have to drop quinapril if my bp goes too low. I will be taking 30mg (the lowest dose).

Avatar m tn Hi, I have been on Levothyroxine since July 2011, 50 MCG daily, also 5mg quinapril daily since then. I was under the impression that synthroid improves cholesterol levels. My doctor told me. He also recommended fish two or three times a week, and lamb otherwise. I eat red meat once or twice a week and salmon three times. Physically, you would not think I need to be on these meds. I am thin and athletic, a swimmer's body. I work out six days a week.
Avatar m tn 5mg 2 per day, Omeprazole 20mg 1 per day, Furosemide 80mg 1 per day, Ferrous Sulfate 325mg 1 per day, Quinapril 40mg 1 per day, Hydroco/apap tab 10 mg 6 per day, asprin 81 mg 1 per day, Clonazepam 0.5mg 3 per day. Avatar f tn I had been taking Ramipril for years. Went to a new Dr. who changed me to Quinapril twice a day because he said it was better for kidneys and added Metoprolol ER 50mg / day because my pulse was always around 90. My BP was usually 120 / 80 with the Ramipril. It's now down to 105 / 65 and my pulse is down to 70. BUT I can't stand how gassy the Metoprolol makes me. I am walking around passing gas all day without being able to control it.
Avatar n tn I checked FDA and found hallucinations mentioned in relationship to having Serotonin Syndrome but not anywhere else. I checked an online PDR - rxlist and found research with 3779 people with MDD with no mention of hallucinations. Drugs.com also no mention of hallucinations. I did not say it could not be Cymbalta causing hallucinations, I said the PDR didn't include hallucinations. I said I didn't have hallucinations. I have now done more research. Where is yours?

428506 tn?1296557399 If I read correctly, Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is a fluoroquinolone, in the same family as levaquin, if that's useful data. Biggest downside risk seems to be risk of tendon rupture. rxlist ******* has the usual hideous rundown of possible side effects if you're so inclined. oh, and it slows clearance of caffeine? think about calling your Lyme doc about the reaction you are having, just to be sure it makes sense to continue with cipro. Not like there aren't other abx out there.
Avatar f tn I went to that page but could not find this statement but rxlist will have it somewhere there. Pretty low incidence but possible as it is with many A/D's. Like you, I had never had a hint of bi polar in my life until, at age 48 I had a 6 week hypomanic episode. I'm sure that was due to mal treatment as the pdoc at that location virtually gave me only one drug, a psychotic for anger.
