I am taking Quinapril and atenolol and one asprian a day I had open heart surgery in 1999 I never really had high blood pressure but my doctor said this was the normal for heart patients. I feel very tired all the time and have had some kind of chest pain that doesn't show any problems have had resent angio and stress test is ther mabe a better med.
Have been on amlodipine and quinapril for about 6-7 years as well as other meds. My blood tests came back fine except for my RDW which is elevated. My NT-ProBNP was only at 6 pmol/L so very low. The Cardiologist immediately ruled out coronary disease - he said I was too young (40yrs old). Said it could be Atypical Angina that was causing the chest pain but no way to test accurately due to my age and said he he could not tell me it wasn't PAH.
My dad has type ll diabetes, he is 60 yrs old and in the past year his health has gone completly down hill. He can hardly walk, he shakes really bad, his arms and legs jerk. He lost his sight in his left eye and has trouble seeing out of his right eye. He falls alot, he is very weak, and has lost alot of weight, he has no muscle tone. His doctor has him on so many different meds, Im not sure if his meds are causing this.

I am thinking of holding off, telling my doctor what my resting pulse and bp is (I already take quinapril, 5mg per day). I have business travel coming up over several weeks and I think I will ask for a 30 day heart monitor test. I wonder how a 24 hour holter shows "normal" but now the doctor wants me on toprol? He said I can continue swimming but my performance won't be as good. And that I might have to drop quinapril if my bp goes too low. I will be taking 30mg (the lowest dose).
My BP spiked at one point due to my panic attack of a diagnosis of hypertensive heart disease, and then I was put on quinapril. Months since, I feel great. Joint pain about gone, much improved digestion. TSH measured 1.83 in November. Blood pressure under control. I am an avid fitness swimmer and swim seven or eight miles a week. I run too.
My latest cholesterol level measures 235.
I'm 44 yrs old and experiencing problems with being extremely out of breath, finding it difficult to recover and catch back up during hard exercise. And I'm getting daylong headaches after these more trying bouts of exercise. I swim 5 days a week, 1.5 miles/day. During moderate to moderate to semi strenous swimming I seem to be OK, but still not recovering quickly and breathing harder than my peers. During the swim workouts, my HR is usually between 120-175.

Hypoglycemia is not the same as diabetes, but they both have to do with insulin and blood sugar. Type 1 diabetes is different from Type 2, too.
As I understand hypoglycemia, it is the condition where a person produces TOO MUCH insulin in response to glucose.
Type 1 diabetes is often called Juvenile Diabetes because most folks with it are diagnosed before adulthood.
My internist told me its muscular neuropathy caused by diabetes. Put me on citalopram and painkillers. My 2HR glucose was 117 and after 2hrs 170 .generally my sugar level is higher above 150 at random. I still have under arm pain and thighs pain though it has lessened now. But when it returns ,I feel bouts of anxiety and stress. I'm not on diabetes treatment. I believe I had diabetes since long. I have lipomas, when they form I'm in extreme pain.
Congratulations on trying to conceive! I was being treated with Metformin for my diabetes risk and irregular cycles. For women, Metformin can also make them super fertile (odd side effect) while regulating blood sugars. I'm not familiar with men and fertility issues, so I did a quick search and found this:

Let me try and answer your questions about exercise and diabetes. I am not aware of any connection between the onset of diabetes and over-exertion. Exercise helps people with diabetes keep their blood sugar in good control and within a normal range. Glucose is used while exercising, which would lower the blood sugar level, not raise it. If you are predisposed to developing type 1 diabetes, no amount of exercise will change this.

It just gives me the munchies which is not good when you are counting carbs.
There are many risks in being an insulin dependant diabetic and getting pregnant but many women do it and have healthy babies (me being one!) Studies have shown that effective control of diabetes during the periconceptional period (refers to the period of time three months before pregnancy through the first three months of pregnancy) in women with diabetes reduces the risk for birth defects in their children.
well i got digestinal diabetes while pregnant and my question is after i have the baby how do i know if the diabetes goes away do u eat normally like u ate before and check ure sugars to see if your body responds or do u keep yourself on the diet u have been and for how long after, also what could happen if u eat sweets right after delivery (craving cheese cake and icescream for the longest time)???
t getting any better. He also has a strong sensitivity to light and is always cowering away from it and covering his eyes. Please guys is there anyone out there who recognizes these symptoms or can offer any advice. I am actually writing this from along side his bed in hospital where they are telling me it's a gastro bug ! (I don't agree).
I have pre-existing diabetes, and my last baby came unexpectedly. I went for a regular checkup and her heartbeat was dipping too fast and too often, so they induced that day. I was totally blindsided and unprepared. So my advice would be to be ready for the unexpected. You could possibly have your baby early. Hopefully all goes well and your sugar will stay in control and lead to a healthy, full term baby.
Anyone with diabetes and pregnant.?. So I'm on the pump and latter this after noon I realized my sugar was staying elevated. (260) Now I check it it's 396 and this is as high as it's ever been sense being pregnant I'm flipping out because I don't want it to hurt my baby but my bf is saying it's OK cause this is the first time ever being this high. Advice? I'm nervous and scared.
