1052851 tn?1307741160 Can you tell me what is in Zeldox that is not in Quetiapine, and if there are any other meds I could try that wouldnt cause these side effects but also not make me gain such a massive amount of weight?
Avatar n tn Hi, I am on celexa and alprazolam, and today I was prescribed quetiapine.... I'm not entirely sure why I was prescribed this medication. The reason I am not sure is because I just started to see a new doctor and it is hard for me to be in a big building that I'm not comfortable in because I have agoraphobia. She told me to take these pills at night time and not to drink alcohol with them.
Avatar f tn Hi! I'm just trying to do some research for my friend ... She's been on Quetiapine (an atypical antipsychotic) for about 2yrs, but previous to this she was diagnosed with borderline hypothyroidism. Suddenly, she has fallen really ill and blood tests have confirmed minor hypothyroidism (T3 levels around 9)... but the symptoms look like hyper!
Avatar f tn What is the lethal dose of aripiprazole, quetiapine and lamotrigine? Mix of them.
1052851 tn?1307741160 Finding the right mood-stabilizer, if that's what your doc. is prescribing it for is really like looking for a needle in a haystack.....Even for an excellent, experienced Doctor like I have. I am extremely sensitive to meds and just taking a few mgs. it acts (so my doc. informs me) like a lot more on most other people. Tried Abilify and Lamotragine as adjunct to my anti-depressant hoping it would give me more energy and although I'm slim, I didn't want the wait gain.
644988 tn?1236364548 ve tried getting my pdoc to take me off of it but he feels that it is working for me. So I just tolerate it.
Avatar f tn Hey I am on them I take 100 mg at nite for my sleeping...
Avatar f tn Next question: you said klonopin made you sleep well, were you taking them for sleep at night or through the day for anxiety? Benzos make a long-term bad choice for sleep, as they do exactly what you're encountering if used for that purpose.
1255936 tn?1296623461 I took 25 mg of Seroquel for GAD and it did wonders! I took it for a year and recently got off because my stresses are gone.
Avatar n tn The most important thing is to remember that you are not alone! There is help, it takes toughness to live each day without a diagnosis and reach out for help. Do not stop asking for help from trusted advisors and people who have knowledge. Continue to look for avenues, such as this website, to gather information and go informed to your healthcare providers and don't stop until you get answers.
644988 tn?1236364548 It sounds like your disorder is not BP in nature, Seroquel aka quetiapine works as an anti-psychotic, so if you are having delusions and serious disassociation, it will definitely help level you out. You mentioned you have pnurse, but do you have a pdoc who can do a full diagnosis? It's hard to really judge or expect what will go on with you unfortunately. You may have more then a couple of disorders going on.
534105 tn?1226157177 Thanks a lot Paxiled. My Dr is not a psychiatrist, it a general Practitioner. I think you are absolutely right. I am hesitant to take Seroquel because its powerful properties. I prefer to slow down a bit my taper process. I am now at 0.085mg/day which is almost nothing. Maybe I have to updose a bit to , perhaps 0.2mg and restart again the process at a slower pace. Do you think is a good idea to updose? Should I stay at my current dosage? (almost nothing).
1052851 tn?1307741160 s are not terribly familiar with it - your health is up to you. Check it out and talk to your Dr. about it.
534105 tn?1226157177 If you stop a medication and right afterward get symptoms you've never had before, it's withdrawal most likely -- never overlook the obvious. Your doctor will, so you have to look out for things. The fact the symptoms are diminishing may mean the withdrawal is passing, assuming that's what it is.
Avatar f tn Have to be honest I was only on that for a while because it was activating and kept me up at night. I also had a problem with heart palpatations (I believe everyone has to get an EEG first as I did) so I had to discontinue it and change back to a previous medication with my psychiatrist's superivision. But some people have done well on it so it depends. It is often activating though so if you have that problem you could ask your psychiatrist if you could take it in the morning.
Avatar f tn t like about it and this is something to look at if you start experiencing this, is it gives me very vivid nightmare.
Avatar f tn Who prescribed the quetiapine? If it was a counselor or therapist, what kind of help does he or she suggest, and is he or she any help? You are totally within your rights to find a new doctor if not. Also, get going on an exercise regime. It can do wonders for emotional issues. No matter what has happened to you in life, you still have a choice about the person you turn out to be.
990380 tn?1249584544 I take it as needed for anxiety and sleep on occaission.- not for the mood highs and lows. It helps a lot, but my pdoc has suggested that I only use it in the daytime only if other anxiety skills don't work. but he says it's ok to take it at night when sleep is particularly difficult. what other meds do you take? Mood stabilizers?
Avatar f tn s taken a while for my doctor to let ME be the judge of how the medication is workiing. The main benefit for me on this drug is that it puts me to sleep, which is why I take about an hour before bed time... I've noticed that it does help reduce anxiety levels, but have never heard of a pdoc just prescribing it for someone on an "as needed" basis... Like any drug, it takes a few weeks to really get into your system.
