I know it is a psychiatric Issue. Currently, Father is taking Quitipine SR 50(1-0-1) and nextop(topiramate) 25 in the morning and nextop 50 in the evening by our doctor(psychiatrist). He has improved a lot including his earlier behaviour manic phases where He is too overconfident and messes up . Father's Problem started just over an year now. He was taking topirol 50 till january 2010. but, It was stopped without consulting doctor.

-( This was an attempt by me to change to a lesser drug but it has back fired and now I've been put on Seroquel (quetiapine) to help me sleep (it has many other uses including treating the symptoms of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder but I was just using it in a low dose to help me sleep). Dippy1, you asked if it was SR and I'm not sure but I can't imagine taking the stuff during the day, being how powerful the sedation effect is! And you lost 70 lbs on it? Wow! I've yet to hear that, in fact only one person who posted on a site regarding Seroquel was only able to say they didn't gain weight, the rest did, many quite rapidly.
