quetiapine overdose serious

Does anyone find serequel/quetiapine is helpful within stabilising there moods.. My psych keeps going on about it as bein helpful but I never found it helpful with my mood swings, but wondered if it was just a dose thing? She's reluctant to put me on moOd stabilisers because im a big overdose risk apparently.. Advice?

my doc prescribed me seroquel/quetiapine 25 fto 50mg, but i took 75mg the first night cause i could not see it working at first, then slept for 15 hours and tired 3 more, then later at night i tried put it down to 50 mg and i was nearly at sleep 2 hours later but not in bed, so i drank a cola and some chips and the med didn't work an hour later(about 2,5 hours after i took it), now i took another pill about 2 hours ago and i can't seem to have it working, i'm still tired tho but not

My GP switched me over to Zeldox, as I was gaining weight rapidly on Quetiapine, however the side effects from Zeldox, such as not being able to sleep, vomitting, feeling like my throat was closing, shakes, dizziness, severe heart palpatations, I got off the Zeldox and went back on the Quetiapine. What is the ingrediant in Zeldox that would cause these hyper side effects?

Hi! I'm just trying to do some research for my friend ... She's been on Quetiapine (an atypical antipsychotic) for about 2yrs, but previous to this she was diagnosed with borderline hypothyroidism. Suddenly, she has fallen really ill and blood tests have confirmed minor hypothyroidism (T3 levels around 9)... but the symptoms look like hyper!

it depends how much your friend was consuming before he swallowed? i knew people who would sit and blow a 1/4oz in a sitting it deends on his tolerance.

I recently switched over from Quetiapine to Zeldox, as I had gained 30lbs in 2 mths with the Quetiapine, and this was affecting my self confidence, as well as not being able to fit into my jeans. I studied up on Zeldox, and it was promoted to give you the benefits of Quetiapine, but with minimal weight gain, so after discussing it with my Dr., I thought I would give it a try. The first month, I could not sleep.

I am currently on 200mg Quetiapine and 30mg Cipralex in the morning. 100mg Quetiapine at noon, and 300mg Quetiapine at night, along with 50mg Clonazapam. I tried taking Zeldox, as I gained a lot of weight from the Quetiapine, but the Dr. made it an add on and kept me on the Quetiapine as well. I had very bad side effects, and got off the Zeldox immediately. I told my doctor about it, and she changed the Zeldox, which was 80mg daily to Abilify, which I take 10mg in the morning and 10mg at noon.

I'm in the Uk and currently taking Quetiapine, Depakote and Lamotrigine. The Quetiapine for me was prescribed for rage and agitation, I don't feel any anti depressant properties from it, but it has saved my life. Lamotrigine was prescribed 7 weeks ago and I feel a lot better, I am doing things that I didn't think I'd ever feel I could do again. Nobody has ever specified what type of Bp I have, I have symptoms from across the spectrum, I have mixed episodes.

I hope you come back on and let us know your ok. This can be serious and hope you went to the ER to be safe. I have read about many deaths from someone swalling large amounts, but usually it was a drug dealer that swallowed a few grams so they won't get busted. Hope your safe.

Hi there. I have had tachycardia for a long time which is normally around 120 bpm but last night I took my pulse just before I went to bed and it was at 150 bpm. This was at resting. I had an ECG a while ago which was normal. Also I have lost a bit of weight recently and can now feel my pulse in my abdomen just below the ribcage. I am 29, am taking quetiapine as without I don't sleep at all and weigh around 90kg. Just wondering if I should do anything about this?

I was being overmedicated by my psychiatrist. I went from taking nothing to taking Klonipin 1mg 3-4x/day, Inderal 10mg 3x/day, and Lamictal. I got up to 150mg of the Lamictal after 7weeks. I had a dangerous and deadly reaction to the Lamictal. I was told to stop it suddenly. My life has been a disaster ever since. I feel I was better before I took all of this stuff. I have been suicidal due to the sudden stop of the meds. Last Saturday i tried to kill myself.

how much coke estamated for an overdose, ive been doin it for a while too i dont know if i have a brain hemorage or anything too my eyes and head hurts and sometimes its like my limbs go a little numb or feel like they fell asleep, my heart sometimes beats weird to. so what goin on? iam a little scared.

Read what it says on the prescription label as for a missed dose or call your doctor. If you took 100 mg. more it would be a serious matter. They can advise you how to proceed. If your doctor isn't available speak to your pharmacist.

Update. Hi. My dissociative moments have receded and I've ha a week or so of being in agood mood and really productive; more so than for over a year. I increased my bedtime dose of quetiapine but found I was feeling "wired" with irritability and anger in the afternoons/evenings. My sleeps are short (five to six hours at the moment despite the increased quetiapine). In view of this, I've re-added a morning dose of quetiapine and now things seem better..

Probably not, but see a doctor ASAP just to rule out any serious condition. Most likely you've got some anxiety which drives up the heart rate afterwards (caffeine should be out of the body long time ago), but we can't say for sure. Go to the ER and get this examined.

which was the dose? did you "overdose" on purpose or was it because you were sick from anything? what do you feel exactly?

Also if you are having symptoms that are causing problems do call the pharmacist and ask what the serious side effects are on your medicine. Any time you are having trouble with your medicine you should ask a doctor or pharmacist and if your doctor isn't asnwering you as you think, then the pharmacist is a good place to try.
