1052851 tn?1307741160 I did speak to my Dr about the weight gain and the side effects and she suggested I take 300mg of Quetiapine at night along with the Zeldox and Clonazapam to sleep, but it really didnt seem to work. I also wonder whether taking both Quetiapine and Zeldox together is a good idea?
1052851 tn?1307741160 This may be the reason that your doctor wants to add Abilify. Your doctor will be able to work with you and attempt to find a good balance that works for you. Abilify can be used as an add-on therapy for certain conditions, and it can also be used as maintenance therapy for other conditions.
Avatar f tn I am getting tired already tho and having back/ hip pain so hoping I can last that long at work. Work as long as I your body will let you.
Avatar m tn s hard to understand here though is the drug is long gone from your system. How could it be to blame for the low libido? You've had your testosterone level checked, correct? You say that is higher than normal. Do you suffer the originating disorder that caused the need for the antipsychotic? Do you see a psychologist?
Avatar n tn Hi, I am on celexa and alprazolam, and today I was prescribed quetiapine.... I'm not entirely sure why I was prescribed this medication. The reason I am not sure is because I just started to see a new doctor and it is hard for me to be in a big building that I'm not comfortable in because I have agoraphobia. She told me to take these pills at night time and not to drink alcohol with them.
Avatar f tn 25 mg at night and one in the morning. I really want to come off of the quetapine and I was wondering how to start coming off of it?
1052851 tn?1307741160 I recently switched over from Quetiapine to Zeldox, as I had gained 30lbs in 2 mths with the Quetiapine, and this was affecting my self confidence, as well as not being able to fit into my jeans. I studied up on Zeldox, and it was promoted to give you the benefits of Quetiapine, but with minimal weight gain, so after discussing it with my Dr., I thought I would give it a try. The first month, I could not sleep.
Avatar m tn I think you need to talk with your doctor about a medication to lower you heart rate. Beta Blocker is one commonly used and rather effective in controlling my atrial fibrillation driven heart rate. My sleep HR goes into the 50s and up and about is under 100, perhaps in the 70s if sitting and typing, like now. A resting HR over 100 should be treated, I understand.
644988 tn?1236364548 I have been on Quetiapine for 3 yrs and have had the same problem. It doesn't matter what the temperture is I just break out in a sweat.. I'm still not used to it. I've tried getting my pdoc to take me off of it but he feels that it is working for me. So I just tolerate it.
Avatar f tn Yeah I have only been on it for a short time but I have ran out before and I can't sleep without it. @freebird227: I worry about that too. That is one of the reasons the military is processing me out (medical board). Can't deploy to a combat zone if you can't wake up and go straight to work. Now that I am pretty much a civilian the only thing I worry about is not being able to sleep naturally without it.
Avatar m tn My most recent drug combinations are (1) 30mg Remeron/Mirtazapine, (2) 150mg Quetiapine/Seroquel, (3) 500mg Epilim/ Sodium Valporate everyday and (4) 10mg prozac every other day. This seems to work well, but I wonder what the long term consequences will be. Could you enlighten me?
Avatar f tn Hi! I'm just trying to do some research for my friend ... She's been on Quetiapine (an atypical antipsychotic) for about 2yrs, but previous to this she was diagnosed with borderline hypothyroidism. Suddenly, she has fallen really ill and blood tests have confirmed minor hypothyroidism (T3 levels around 9)... but the symptoms look like hyper!
Avatar f tn are this the withdrawal symptoms of the clonopil and how long will i have to put up with them? Right now i feel the left side my face swollen and numb my blood pressure is normal 128/83, would i get well?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone just an update, i have spoken to him today to ask how to manage the day to day, and he said that he wants me to go into hospital to have my treatment but i said i wanted to try the meds first but i dnt no wat to do:/ is it worth going into hospital or just seeing how i go?
534105 tn?1226157177 t going to happen here, it was a much more difficult med I was on for a long time, years, but it forced me to research this stuff more than I cared to and the one consistent thing about these meds is how inconsistent they are. A psychiatrist should be open to that possibility. But as you say, it is hard to know when the symptoms we get from withdrawal are often intensified versions of what we were feeling anyway that brought us to the drug in the first place.
Avatar f tn Started taking these meds see how they go,hope they will help as other meds havent, can anyone tell me anything bout em,anyone taking them or even been on them etc, thank you
Avatar f tn I fall asleep more easily, and sleep through the night much better than before the started the drug. However, when I search the internet for peoples reaction to Quetiapine I see mostly complaints of it making people really drowsy, and drunken feeling during the day. Also, that it makes people sleep way too long. My reaction is nothing like this so I am wondering if it is normal.
Avatar f tn The best thing to do is to follow your doctor's instructions. There are many medicines that don't work immediately. You are taking a chance at overdose when you don't follow the doctor's directions. Luckily for you, the overdose amount for seroquel is much higher than you took. I would suggest that you contact your doctor. He won't be happy with you taking more than prescribed but may increase your amount or try something else.
Avatar f tn I also have nausea and vomiting. But my question is how long until I will be able to get to sleep again? I am Bipolar 2 and am worried about getting unwell without sleep. All I have read says it could be 1-2 weeks. How does one manage this with a mood disorder and with trying to work etc??
Avatar f tn If your psychiatrist has authorized you to change medications, ask them exactly how it should be done and what to expect.
2102364 tn?1334181277 Oops wanted to add you to my watch list to hear how all goes for you and I forgot to put a check mark in the box--also apologies for such a lengthy post above--lol
Avatar m tn Oh my gosh, how frightening! I am new to hypothyroidism so I don't know the answer to your question, but since you have lupus, have you run this situation by your rheumie? Are the two docs exchanging info to best get all of this under control? I hope you begin to feel better soon. Good luck!
