Quetiapine and sedation

Common Questions and Answers about Quetiapine and sedation

seroquel

Avatar n tn The newer antipsychotics such as Abilify, Fanapt and Saphris are less likely to cause weight gain and sedation. For myself, Lamictal was the best mood stabilizer in that regard and it stabilized mixed states and rapid cycling (which may be part of what you are describing but speak to your psychiatrist about that) but of course each person responds differently to each medication.
Avatar f tn s got 2 docs (the GP treating the thyroid, and the mental health team prescribing the Quetiapine), but they don't seem to be communicating at all. Does anyone have any ideas? The symptoms just don't seem to make sense, and she's getting really scared. Thanks a lot!
534105 tn?1226157177 Clonazepam is classified as an addictive drug and controlled substance. Seroquel isn't. I"m not sure why your doctor wants you to take seroquel -- you don't say why here. This is a drug intended for a limited purpose that was marketed illegally for all kinds of things, mostly for sleep because an unwanted side effect of it is a lot of sedation. You'd probably find quantitatively more problems quitting clonazepam, as it's one of the hardest of brain drugs to stop taking.
1052851 tn?1307741160 I did speak to my Dr about the weight gain and the side effects and she suggested I take 300mg of Quetiapine at night along with the Zeldox and Clonazapam to sleep, but it really didnt seem to work. I also wonder whether taking both Quetiapine and Zeldox together is a good idea?
Avatar m tn I'm in the Uk and currently taking Quetiapine, Depakote and Lamotrigine. The Quetiapine for me was prescribed for rage and agitation, I don't feel any anti depressant properties from it, but it has saved my life. Lamotrigine was prescribed 7 weeks ago and I feel a lot better, I am doing things that I didn't think I'd ever feel I could do again. Nobody has ever specified what type of Bp I have, I have symptoms from across the spectrum, I have mixed episodes.
Avatar f tn Has any one reduced and successfully stopped taking quetiapine? were there any horrible withdrawal symptoms or return of symptoms? I am feeling scared I must say.
Avatar f tn I was on lithium and seroquel. Worked wonders. Im only on seroquel now cuz im pennant and it.still works but not as.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking Lamotrigine, Prazosin, and Quetiapine. I have also been diagnosed with H. Pylori, I was wondering if I could take Prevacid with these other medications? I have tried everything else and this would be a last resort.
Avatar n tn Will I lose the weight I have put on whilst on citalopram and quetiapine once I stop taking these medicines?
1052851 tn?1307741160 I am currently on 200mg Quetiapine and 30mg Cipralex in the morning. 100mg Quetiapine at noon, and 300mg Quetiapine at night, along with 50mg Clonazapam. I tried taking Zeldox, as I gained a lot of weight from the Quetiapine, but the Dr. made it an add on and kept me on the Quetiapine as well. I had very bad side effects, and got off the Zeldox immediately. I told my doctor about it, and she changed the Zeldox, which was 80mg daily to Abilify, which I take 10mg in the morning and 10mg at noon.
Avatar f tn 50 every other day for about 4 months, my panic got so far worse than before, so i wen to see a neurologist, he put me straight away on valdoxan and quetiapine 25mg, took only valdoxan for 2 weeks i had'nt been able to have a good night sleep, my doc said to take half a quetiapine at bed time but also gave me zolpidem, my ansiety is great that none of these make sleep well, my question is: are this the withdrawal symptoms of the clonopil and how long will i have to put up with them?
Avatar m tn My sleep HR goes into the 50s and up and about is under 100, perhaps in the 70s if sitting and typing, like now. A resting HR over 100 should be treated, I understand.
Avatar f tn What is the lethal dose of aripiprazole, quetiapine and lamotrigine? Mix of them.
Avatar m tn I have a friend who years ago had several colonoscopies without sedation, and while they got thru it, it was unpleasant and something they do not wish to repeat. The exact opposite of those who get unpleasant side effects from Versed! So, I suppose they can cut off your arm without sedation, but you should at least get good and drunk before you go in! Ha! Just kidding.
1052851 tn?1307741160 I recently switched over from Quetiapine to Zeldox, as I had gained 30lbs in 2 mths with the Quetiapine, and this was affecting my self confidence, as well as not being able to fit into my jeans. I studied up on Zeldox, and it was promoted to give you the benefits of Quetiapine, but with minimal weight gain, so after discussing it with my Dr., I thought I would give it a try. The first month, I could not sleep.

Avatar m tn I was prescribed tramadol for pain do to an injury and I take citalopram and quetiapine for depression. I also have emphysema and use advair.
Avatar m tn If you need to have this procedure again, I would highly recommend against general anesthesia (totally asleep). This has a ton more risks then sedation and the entire procedure becomes more complicated. And when you wake up, your sore throat will be much worse because you will have the endoscope as well as a breathing tube down your throat. If you need this procedure again, I would recommend 2 things.
Avatar f tn Hey I am on them I take 100 mg at nite for my sleeping...
644988 tn?1236364548 I have been on Quetiapine for 3 yrs and have had the same problem. It doesn't matter what the temperture is I just break out in a sweat.. I'm still not used to it. I've tried getting my pdoc to take me off of it but he feels that it is working for me. So I just tolerate it.
Avatar f tn Many people have problems with twilight sedation, and the drug Versed has come up a lot as being the culprit. Therefore, you should ask the doctor to skip the Versed and instead use extra of the opiate type drug. You can find stuff online about Versed and print it out, in case you have to convince the doc of this. You should not have any problem whatsoever with opiates, they will make you feel wonderful, and there are no scary side effects.
Avatar n tn They were Able to rule out that he is not having seizures (although some of the nurses think he sometimes does) and said that they are myoclonic jerks. He is able to be on a low sedation now and he’ll be fine but as soon as they come off the sedation he begins to jerk again so they have to raise it up high to control it then they can come back down. Today is the 14th day in the icu. The neurologist comes every morning and he has since made progress with responding to pain.
