453798 tn?1262633421 My milk never came in and Alec is 8 days old. I finally gave up because he was getting frustrated and it broke my heart. Has anyone else had problems? It is kind of a letdown for me.
Avatar f tn I have been pumping and storing breast milk for my princess and it seams like the amount is slowing down what can I do to get it back up I do not want to give her formula at all!
2177836 tn?1355173877 ve been on for half an hour and not even to an ounce yet, my milk is coming out super slow and the pumping level if all the way up. How can I help myself produce more?
Avatar f tn Did anyone have any problems with these milk going away an if so what were the signs? I'm so afraid my is slowly going away an idk what to do!!! My breasts are slowly getting softer and when I squeeze milk doesn't come out or is just a little bit an she seems to be nursing a little more often!!!!!
Avatar f tn I just bought mine and I loved it. You pump more than you think! Especially when all that milk comes in. Breast feeding really is the best. The first two weeks are hard and kind of painful, but it will get better! Good luck!
Avatar f tn Usually pumping after nursing will help empty the breast. If you find that you are not pumping anything after nursing you can try pumping before nursing. Babies are much more efficient at emptying the breast than a pump so this may work better for some moms. 10. If your supply is low or baby is not gaining weight see a lactation consultant for help. 11. Make sure baby is latching on well. Try more than one technique to get your baby latched on. 12. Get support from breastfeeding moms. 13.
Avatar n tn Is it possible to feed baby solely on breast milk through expressing and not nursing? I'm just thinking if I don't manage to establish a proper nursing routine, is it possible to bottle feed with my milk? Or is this unrealistic? Any personal experiences or advice? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hello ladies...my daughter is 3 days old and i am breastfeeding...so far its not going to well :/...she's not eating a lot yet and my breast are producing so much milk that I even have to pump.....she is having a hard time latching and I gave in once and gave her a bottle....my breast are so hard and so sore I'm in tears! I was wondering would it be ok to just pump in the nights and bottle feed her and breast during the day?
2032629 tn?1329618488 hey, have you tried skin to skin breast feeding instead of pumping for a little bit. by pumping you are encouraging more milk and at a rate that the baby doesn't control itself. i think i would defer this question to the breast feeding forum here. they are full of information and great tips. perhaps one of the ladies there will be more helpful.
Avatar f tn So I was planning on breast feeding but I have NO BREAST MILK has this happened to any one else .
Avatar f tn Fennel or basil essential oil around the breast, not on the nipple.
Avatar f tn Do i have to take something so my milk drys up?...or...do i just stop pumping and the milk just goes away n stops comming in???
Avatar f tn I plan on also pumping and nursing and assume I will have enough milk based on what I had last time. I will go back to work when they are 3-4 months old. I am thinking of buying a Medela "pump in style advanced" or Medela "freestyle". What did you ladies do? Did you have enough milk for your twins? When did you return to work? Did you pump milk? If so, what Pump did you get?
Avatar f tn Idk if its just the breast pump I purchased that ***** or if im not producing enough milk.. I bought an evenflo electric pump from Wal-Mart it was only $60 so I didnt expect it to be amazing but at least get the job done. My baby usually drinks about 3 oz of milk when I pump and I can barely get that from one breast.
Avatar f tn I lost most of my milk because I was not pumping as often as I should have and now I have almost no milk, is it possible to get my milk supply back up????
Avatar n tn I started having breast pain on the left side while nursing my second child. My breast seemed to not be expressing the milk well--just one or two streams. I did all the treatments for clogged milk ducts/mastitis, but nothing really helped. The pain would come and go, but my breast never expressed like it had with my first baby. My left breast became noticably larger than my right. I thought the pain and swelling would go away after I stopped nursing/pumping.
Avatar f tn I got oatmeal and couldn't find any tea for milk and I'm pumping more, hopefully I make more soon
362119 tn?1223137936 It is because babies have a special way they suck milk out of you that the pump cannot imitate wich is why u cant get as much as u would like out
741877 tn?1265950200 i started pumping breast milk when hanna was 4 days old....
Avatar f tn Drink a lot of milk products to get the milk flowing. Your breast milk comes depending on amt your baby drinks. It might be too early to pump and freeze. I say wait a mth. If not use the oz u pump to feed your newborn n skip a feeding n pump so u can have more milk supply to freeze.
Avatar f tn 'Breast is best' is an old saying that rings true… I nursed all my kids and was able to pump when I returned to school (work really - I'm a teacher). Ultimately you're going to need to do what works for you. For me I had no idea if I was going to be able to nurse or wanted to or any of that… I took it one day at a time and had success. I found a ton of support on this sight as well. I reached out to those around me and took things one day at a time.
7385294 tn?1412105739 Well what you might be pumping is the "pre-milk" which I can't think of the name for it right now. And the baby really only drinks that until your milk supply comes in, hours/days after birth. I don't think your actual breast milk will come from pumping? So I don't know if there's an actual point to it (you might have to Google that) Nipple stimulation has been known to bring in contractions, and causing labor in the long run. Just do whatever you want to do.
Avatar f tn They let me put him to Breast a couple times but that was until he was a couple weeks old so I had been pumping my milk for him til then. He never latched after the one time so I exclusively pumped for a year.
Avatar f tn I made the decision to breast feed because it is the best thing for him, breast milk contains valuable antibodies, it is free, convenient, and I love the bonding experience. Although I am a huge breast feeding advocate, not every woman can or even wants to and they shouldn't be made to feel bad for that.
5143780 tn?1370557931 Try maybe for every three hrs to feed. Are you only pumping? Breast milk is a lot lighter on a babies stomach therefore they need to eat more its not heavy like formula.
8585833 tn?1399748005 So I pumped every 3hrs to make sure he had milk at the hospital when I was released. I was getting at least 5oz from each breast. Now he's home, I'm nursing exclusively, and pumping between feedings when needed, but now I'm only getting about 2oz per breast. Any suggestions on how to my supply back up our why it even dropped like that.
Avatar f tn Like is it bad to give formula AND breast milk? Can it make it to wear he wont want my breast milk? And as far as having to pump over nursing, will it lessen my supply?
Avatar n tn Also, make sure you are relaxing when you are nursing and pumping. Generally, a women gets more milk out when actually nursing as opposed to pumping, so she may be getting more from you when she is nursing. There is a natural tea sold at health food stores, it's called mothers milk I believe, I have heard that it works wonders.
