2032629 tn?1329618488 hey, have you tried skin to skin breast feeding instead of pumping for a little bit. by pumping you are encouraging more milk and at a rate that the baby doesn't control itself. i think i would defer this question to the breast feeding forum here. they are full of information and great tips. perhaps one of the ladies there will be more helpful.
453798 tn?1262633421 She had Jaundice in the first week so on day 4 I began pumping for her so we could make sure she was eating enough to get rid of it. personaly i like pumping better so dh can help with feeding. theres a pill they can give you to increase milk supply, i had a friend who had to use it. i wouldnt give up just yet if you havent sought help.
Avatar f tn I have been pumping and storing breast milk for my princess and it seams like the amount is slowing down what can I do to get it back up I do not want to give her formula at all!
561093 tn?1237429410 So when we got out of the hospital we stopped by CVS and got an Evenflo breast pump. I decided I would just pump instead of breastfeeding. This way I knew how much milk he was getting and could get his weight up. At first it was going really well! My milk all came in and I was pumping 4-5 oz each time I pumped. I mean my breasts were very full. It lasted about 5 days and now the last 2 days I have barely gotten 2-3 oz. and sometimes even less than that.My breast are very soft and "Squishy.
5143780 tn?1370557931 Try maybe for every three hrs to feed. Are you only pumping? Breast milk is a lot lighter on a babies stomach therefore they need to eat more its not heavy like formula.
Avatar f tn Usually pumping after nursing will help empty the breast. If you find that you are not pumping anything after nursing you can try pumping before nursing. Babies are much more efficient at emptying the breast than a pump so this may work better for some moms. 10. If your supply is low or baby is not gaining weight see a lactation consultant for help. 11. Make sure baby is latching on well. Try more than one technique to get your baby latched on. 12. Get support from breastfeeding moms. 13.
Avatar f tn Try fenugreek it's specifically made for breast feeding moms
Avatar n tn Is it possible to feed baby solely on breast milk through expressing and not nursing? I'm just thinking if I don't manage to establish a proper nursing routine, is it possible to bottle feed with my milk? Or is this unrealistic? Any personal experiences or advice? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Hello ladies...my daughter is 3 days old and i am breastfeeding...so far its not going to well :/...she's not eating a lot yet and my breast are producing so much milk that I even have to pump.....she is having a hard time latching and I gave in once and gave her a bottle....my breast are so hard and so sore I'm in tears! I was wondering would it be ok to just pump in the nights and bottle feed her and breast during the day?
Avatar f tn Now I have noticed that my nipples are flat on one side and further out from the breast on the other. Can these be signs of breast cancer or are they just nursing related issues? Oh, and years ago I had a swollen lymph-node under my armpit but it eventually went away. I don’t know if that has any relevance.
Avatar f tn It is supossed to catch the milk from the unused side while nursing instead of letting it seep into a pad and tossing it. Good luck! And like everyone has said, once you and the baby get the hang of it, it is a piece of cake. Plus, its always available, always the roght temp, cleanup is simple, and breastmilk spitup is not near as stinky.
Avatar f tn What are you takes on bottle feeding or breatsfeeding? Does anyone know how to get their breast pump covered instead of out of pocket since finances can be tight?!
Avatar f tn I stop breastfeeding her but I do pump on low level. I would love to just feed her instead of pump as pumping will end up drying my milk :( Thanks for ur help!!
Avatar f tn Oh and nursing pads. Lots and lots of nursing pads.
Avatar f tn So I was planning on breast feeding but I have NO BREAST MILK has this happened to any one else .
Avatar f tn m pumping every 2hrs and drinking plenty of water. Does anyone have any suggestions to increase my milk?
Avatar f tn Do i have to take something so my milk drys up?...or...do i just stop pumping and the milk just goes away n stops comming in???
Avatar f tn I plan on also pumping and nursing and assume I will have enough milk based on what I had last time. I will go back to work when they are 3-4 months old. I am thinking of buying a Medela "pump in style advanced" or Medela "freestyle". What did you ladies do? Did you have enough milk for your twins? When did you return to work? Did you pump milk? If so, what Pump did you get?
Avatar f tn My first daughter weaned herself from the breast around 9 months, but I continued pumping and giving her my milk in a cup until I ran out of freezer stash and my production pretty much stopped. It was a little month or 2 after her first birthday. My second daughter I weaned a little past her second birthday. She was only at 3 nursing sessions at that point, waking up, nap time, and bed time.
Avatar f tn Idk if its just the breast pump I purchased that ***** or if im not producing enough milk.. I bought an evenflo electric pump from Wal-Mart it was only $60 so I didnt expect it to be amazing but at least get the job done. My baby usually drinks about 3 oz of milk when I pump and I can barely get that from one breast.
Avatar f tn I lost most of my milk because I was not pumping as often as I should have and now I have almost no milk, is it possible to get my milk supply back up????
Avatar n tn I started having breast pain on the left side while nursing my second child. My breast seemed to not be expressing the milk well--just one or two streams. I did all the treatments for clogged milk ducts/mastitis, but nothing really helped. The pain would come and go, but my breast never expressed like it had with my first baby. My left breast became noticably larger than my right. I thought the pain and swelling would go away after I stopped nursing/pumping.
Avatar f tn I got oatmeal and couldn't find any tea for milk and I'm pumping more, hopefully I make more soon
741877 tn?1265950200 i started pumping breast milk when hanna was 4 days old....
Avatar f tn I'm 39+5 today. I am planning to exclusively pump breast milk, instead of nursing. I am goingback to work 3 weeks after baby is born doing light duty. Are there any special tips to keep my milk flowing, or to bring it in faster and bump up how much I can pump each time?
