hey, have you tried skin to skin breast feeding instead of pumping for a little bit. by pumping you are encouraging more milk and at a rate that the baby doesn't control itself. i think i would defer this question to the breast feeding forum here. they are full of information and great tips. perhaps one of the ladies there will be more helpful.

She had Jaundice in the first week so on day 4 I began pumping for her so we could make sure she was eating enough to get rid of it. personaly i like pumping better so dh can help with feeding. theres a pill they can give you to increase milk supply, i had a friend who had to use it. i wouldnt give up just yet if you havent sought help.

Is it possible to feed baby solely on breast milk through expressing and not nursing? I'm just thinking if I don't manage to establish a proper nursing routine, is it possible to bottle feed with my milk? Or is this unrealistic? Any personal experiences or advice? Thanks!

Hello ladies...my daughter is 3 days old and i am breastfeeding...so far its not going to well :/...she's not eating a lot yet and my breast are producing so much milk that I even have to pump.....she is having a hard time latching and I gave in once and gave her a bottle....my breast are so hard and so sore I'm in tears! I was wondering would it be ok to just pump in the nights and bottle feed her and breast during the day?

Now I have noticed that my nipples are flat on one side and further out from the breast on the other. Can these be signs of breast cancer or are they just nursing related issues? Oh, and years ago I had a swollen lymph-node under my armpit but it eventually went away. I don’t know if that has any relevance.

It is supossed to catch the milk from the unused side while nursing instead of letting it seep into a pad and tossing it. Good luck! And like everyone has said, once you and the baby get the hang of it, it is a piece of cake. Plus, its always available, always the roght temp, cleanup is simple, and breastmilk spitup is not near as stinky.

What are you takes on bottle feeding or breatsfeeding? Does anyone know how to get their breast pump covered instead of out of pocket since finances can be tight?!

I stop breastfeeding her but I do pump on low level. I would love to just feed her instead of pump as pumping will end up drying my milk :( Thanks for ur help!!

I started having breast pain on the left side while nursing my second child.My breast seemed to not be expressing the milk well--just one or two streams. I did all the treatments for clogged milk ducts/mastitis, but nothing really helped. The pain would come and go, but my breast never expressed like it had with my first baby.
