milk

14975014 tn?1437675913 If you pump before birth then your body is going to make real milk. But you don't want to give your baby that milk from the start. They need the colostrum first. It gives them the antibodies and protein they need plus it's gentle enough for their digestive system. They need that for a few days and when your real milk comes in, your baby is ready for it.
8526246 tn?1405601876 How long after pumping is breast milk good for without refrigerating or do I have to refrigerate right away? I want to pump and feed without having to refrigerate and thaw but not sure if its not ok to do so.
Avatar f tn Pumping doesn't stimulate milk production like natural breastfeeding does. Try hand stimylating with pumping every hour, using warm rags around your breast to make the let down reflex easier, and eating certain foods and even some teas can help the body produce milk.
Avatar n tn Ooo ok thanks so much
7845638 tn?1395841467 That sounds great mommikat breastfeeding at night would work for me I read on this blog that milk does come in at the wee hours pumping seems like it's going to be a lot of work but I'm determined to make sure I don't have to resort to formula
Avatar f tn I would not recommend pumping before your milk supply comes after the baby is born it could cause you to go into preterm labor. I'm having my second and after my first I never stopped lactating even when I stopped breastfeeding. I still would leak collosum (don't know if that is spelled right) especially when he would cry.
3588173 tn?1357317184 Alright looks like I will be setting a couple alarms during the night to pump.
7058746 tn?1393435420 her everyday shes in the nicu she started eating thru the tube so if u want save or donate it to the hospital :)
Avatar f tn I would ignore the comments from the WIC office. Your baby will be perfectly fine drinking breast milk from a bottle. Also I do not see why you couldn't switch to formula after a time.
Avatar f tn When do breast milk starts coming out the breast I had my baby on the 29th no milk still
3129009 tn?1344190733 So I finally had my twin girls 9 days ago! They are in the nicu at the moment but they are doing amazing and should cone home very soon. Well yesterday I talked to a lactation lady that works in there. She told me if I don't pump every three hours then im going to wake up one day and have no milk at all! :/ is this true?
Avatar f tn im pumping out my milk but its colostrum. i wanted to know when wikl my milk come in.
Avatar f tn I have been pumping and storing breast milk for my princess and it seams like the amount is slowing down what can I do to get it back up I do not want to give her formula at all!
Avatar f tn Milk only last 2 months in the freezer so it won't be any good by the time your little one gets here, I asked my on about it because i'm a ftm and 24 weeks but I've been leaking colostrum since about 20 weeks but it comes more actively than a few drops every couple of days it's gotten to the point where I have to express it atleast 2×s a day or my boobs hurt so bad is rediculous, but I found that massaging them with Vaseline or other oils makes my nips a lot less tender and painf
Avatar f tn Go to breast is best on fb. They have info on how much to feed a newborn.
Avatar n tn when did you guys start breast pumping?
Avatar f tn I would drop it to 3 hours and if it drastically affected my supply I went back to 2 hrs. By the time he was 9 months I was pumping every 4 and had a ton saved in the freezer. My son was preemie so I pumped right from the moment he was born. They let me put him to Breast a couple times but that was until he was a couple weeks old so I had been pumping my milk for him til then. He never latched after the one time so I exclusively pumped for a year.
Avatar f tn They say it can happen after so many births. I am not a breast feeder. Therefore the freezing and saving doesnt pertain to me. The pumping has not affected my baby... thanks though???
Avatar f tn My first was in nursery for 3 weeks and id religiously take the milk in everyday. It helps them to recover as its full of antibodies. :) definitely keep at it. I know its hard but its worth it.
Avatar f tn Its actually recommended that as your breasts grow and while breast feeding to sleep in a bra to decrease the chance of getting stretch marks on your breasts and for comfort. They sell nursing bras specifically for sleeping in.
10720243 tn?1415582269 t know what happened but the bags opened or exploded or something all over the freezer. I was down to like 5 bags of milk. Right now I have 4 bags in the freezer but each only has between 4-6 ounces and she eats 3 at a time. I'm so stressed I'm rambling.
