1124862 tn?1303850973 so anyways.. back to my question, how much are your babies eating or were eating at 2 wks old? i just feel like shes eating a lot for her age, not that im going to limit what i feed her, im just worried soon im not going to be able to keep up with her... just wondering if i should start supplementing with formula now or just wait till i fall behind... . any suggestions??
Avatar f tn With my first child I did breast feeding for a year, but when I tried transitioning her from breast to bottle, it was A PAIN! She refused to take the bottle, so now I want to try to do both.. I bought a breast pump, so I'm wondering how does the whole freezing your milk process work? How long is it good for? How do you unfreeze it? Or boil it? Thank you for your time!
Avatar f tn I don't see how it could be bad! Idk tho I'm a ftm. I'm planning on doing the same thing because I wouldn't feel comfortable with my baby sucking on my *** so I'm going to pump the milk out and feed him like that.. Another reason why I wanted to only pump is so I know exactly how much oz he drinks.
Avatar f tn Do i have to take something so my milk drys up?...or...do i just stop pumping and the milk just goes away n stops comming in???
Avatar f tn Go to breast is best on fb. They have info on how much to feed a newborn.
Avatar f tn I had my baby 3 days ago and im breast feeding but it hurts me so much.
3129009 tn?1344190733 I was lucky to get an ounce for him. Just keep pumping and doing As much skin to skin as you can.
7845638 tn?1395841467 and a breast feeding consultant will advise you to wait 6-8 weeks before trying to pump because if you do it early on, it can make your body produce too much milk. Milk production is all supply and demand..what your baby is drinking is what your body will supply. It's amazing!!
Avatar f tn Baby needs the colostrum first which you obviously pumped out if you are getting that much milk.
7801868 tn?1395885718 Tonight i plan on having a few drinks and already have enough milk pumped for that. I find i dont get much when i pump, maybe 3 oz total from both boobs. I almost exclusively bf. How can i increase the amount im pumping? Any tips to help with pumping? Best times to pump? I normally just pump when i feel like i need to (just before i go out, before having a drink etc) but id like to actually have a decent supply.
689528 tn?1364135841 that will make me produce that much more milk right? So will I have to keep pumping often just to keep up or can I just pump when I think I'll need it later on in the week or something?
Avatar f tn I would not recommend pumping before your milk supply comes after the baby is born it could cause you to go into preterm labor. I'm having my second and after my first I never stopped lactating even when I stopped breastfeeding. I still would leak collosum (don't know if that is spelled right) especially when he would cry.
8526246 tn?1405601876 How long after pumping is breast milk good for without refrigerating or do I have to refrigerate right away? I want to pump and feed without having to refrigerate and thaw but not sure if its not ok to do so.
Avatar n tn I had my baby 5 days ago and im pumping and i only get a half an ounce each breast if that.. Will my breast supply increase??. I want to produce more milk what do i do?
14975014 tn?1437675913 U can't pump before hand because ur milk doesn't come in until a few days after birth. When u first have ur baby u will produce colostrum which is packed with nutrients.
470885 tn?1326329037 You need to pump if you're not going to breastfeed, if you skip pumping your body will think you don't need as much milk and won't produce as much. The more you feed and the more you pump the more your body will supply. So make sure if you're not feeding, you are pumping. Either way is fine.
Avatar f tn I'm 29 wks and already producing milk I looked up online to see how long breastmilk stays fresh while frozen and it says three to six months.
10720243 tn?1415582269 Nothing has been more depressing than going from making 10-12oz on average to barely pumping 4oz. My baby is only 2 weeks old. I don't understand how my milk supply has run out so fast. I want to cry. I am mostly pumping because my daughter has the hardest time latching. And bottle feeding is a lot easier due to schedules. Do any of you already moms have any tips to up your milk production?
Avatar n tn I have a question for all the moms out there. I am 39 weeks tomorrow it will be my second daughter my 1st is now 7 years old. With my 1st I did not breastfeed at all not in the hospital or out of the hospital she was on formula from day one. My question is now with my second I still do not plan on breastfeeding from my breasts it not something thats gonna ever be on my agenda, but I do want to pump and bottle feed.
Avatar f tn I was told not to pump and dump, its better to wait it out because the alcohol content in breast milk will be the same as in your blood, as youre blood alcohol levels decrease so will the amount in the breast milk and pumping and dumping will just be a waste. My dr told me that its better to just wait it out and to pump a little every now and then and use these test strips from walmart.
Avatar f tn how many times do you think i will need to pump though out an 8 hr work day? and about how long each time? also have any moms pumped so they can have breast milk while their gone but still put baby on the boob when your home? is it easy for baby to go back nd forth??
Avatar f tn Pumping isn't a good way to tell how much you produce. Because a pump isn't the same as a baby's mouth. That's what my doctor told me..
3588173 tn?1357317184 Alright looks like I will be setting a couple alarms during the night to pump.
Avatar n tn If we are pumping breast milk how many ounces should she have per feeding? How long should we let her nurse on sore nipples and still get enough to eat? Our doctor told us to give two ounces of formula. she weighs 7.5 pounds. 8 days old.
1123420 tn?1350561158 I was planning to exclusively breast-feed, but I lost so much blood at delivery that my milk supply was REALLY slow to come in. My daughter was a natural BFer, and we both LOVED it...but after awhile when my milk still wasn't coming in right, I started to get really upset every time I breast-fed because I knew she wasn't getting enough and it became too stressful...
