Avatar f tn I'm trying to choose the best breast pump and milk storage system I can find. I travel extensively for work and I'll even be pumping in the car. I found the Kiinde system; which looks awesome. But, I'm not sure what I will be able to express from each breast at each pumping session. Ideally, I would like to pump directly into the storage bag, freeze it, thaw it, and feed directly from the bag. That is how the Kiinde system is intended to be used.
Avatar n tn W.my 1st ididnt breastfeed . W.my 2nd ididnt breastfeed iwas planning too but he was born tongue-tied so , its impossible to breastfeed ); now ijust had my 3rd & im pumping & doing formula. Shes not on the breast just bcuz its hard for her to latch on & its frustrating for both of us so , idecided to pump instead. 621803 tn?1302888341 t have enough room in the bottles now for my second session, since I usually get at least 5 oz out of that pumping session. Is it ok if I store the extra milk TEMPORARILY (about 3-4 hours) in a water bottle? Or can the BPA in the bottle leak into the milk that fast? I hate to waste a pumping session, since I'm trying to build back up my freezer supply, but I of course don't want to make any of the milk unhealthy.
Avatar f tn I'm going to get the gerber bottles from walmart. My sister has them & they work fine so i thought I'd try them, but if I'm pumping what bottles would I store the milk in? Or should I just get storage bags?? & if i get storage bags do i just pour the milk in the bottle when im ready to feed? Ugh. So confused lol help!
3054705 tn?1348415479 If u freeze you milk in milk bags I believe its good for a year. To unfreeze your milk heat up a cup of water not to hot! And place the bag in the cup to unfreeze. I lovedfreezing my milk because u can store it away for along time. And take it on the go .
9842459 tn?1411688168 Ypu can pour it into a milk storage bag after you pump. Just put them in the fridge for an hour tham transfer to the freezer if you want. Thats what i did.

8489354 tn?1405627762 Has anyone on here successfully pumped exclusively? My son isn't latching because my nipples won't stay errect. I am considering pumping exclusively and bottle feeding my milk. I am worried about it not producing enough down the road. Has anyone had experience in this?
676912 tn?1332812551 t want to use a whole storage bottle for 1 1/2 oz every time I pump, that could get pretty expensive buying enough for a new one every time...I'm still not giving Aubryana a bottle yet, she sleeps good at night and DH is just now starting back with work, and going to be out another 30 days again soon for surgery. I'd just rather not try to introduce a bottle at all if I can help it, but not for a while still if I do, she just turned five weeks yesterday.
229857 tn?1319029907 you can store it in the fridge for 2-3 days just make sure you date the milk also it can go in the freezer i think for upto 6 months and it is good to use the breast milk storage bags so you can date them also and then you can take them straight from the freezer and put the bag in the baby bottle warmer. when you buy the breast pump there should be a little book about breast feeding and everything that comes with it.
7498971 tn?1391425105 can you pump before the baby is born? If so, when can women usually start pumping? What different ways can you store your pumped milk? And how long does the milk stay fresh to use?
Avatar f tn Hey ladies. I'm a first time mommy. I plan on breast feeding. What accessories aside from the actual breast pump do I need? I know I need storage for the beat milk, but I'd there anything I need?
Avatar f tn Put it in the lansinoh storage bags specifically for breast feeding, then label it and stick it in the freezer.
Avatar f tn I'm doing research about storage for breast milk. I want something that's cost effective and will work. I'm not looking to create a huge stash of frozen milk because I don't have the space in my freezer nor do I have a deep freeze (yay apartment living). I have looked into the disposable bags. What a money sink. Plus the reviews I read do not put much faith into me using them. I came across a mom's blog about using mason jars.
7923170 tn?1412999504 Soo were on a very short budget and I want to breast feed to help with costs n not to mention its healthy for baby and me... My biggest concern is how to store the breast milk. I have an idea to use jelly jars my gram uses to freeze her strawberry jelly she makes... But I don't know if they would bust... I don't plan on filling them to the very tippie top.
Avatar f tn I ask bcuz i have the Medela brand on my registry but i was gona by my own pump, but i saw an evenflo at target for 35 dollas, and 63 for two, you hold it to your breast and push a button and it pumps.
Avatar f tn Breast feeding mommas, from birth until whenever, what is your pumping schedule like? Is it every couple hours, do you just "feel" it's time? How long does it take? I would like to breast feed, but I will primarily depend on bottle feeding breast milk because of other reasons. Just curious what I should kind of expect.
Avatar f tn hi..I plan on breast feeding but pumping for when I'm away or something like that. anyone know how the Tommee tippee bottles are??
Avatar f tn s coming in very slowly everyone I pump I only get a little bit from each breast it takes me to pump quite a few times to fill up a storage tube why am I not producing enough milk yet and what can I do to produce more milk for my baby
3158442 tn?1344311653 Yea that is what i will do. Doesn't it take the Baby longer to eat from the breast then bottle?
Avatar f tn This time around i bought a pump and storage bags since i will be returning to work six weeks later. I am aiming to pump my breast a few days prior to due date and store milk so when Lil man arrives, I'm already flowing without any problems. Any suggestions or comments from experts?
Avatar f tn I am breast feeding. I need to know which bottles to buy for breast fed babies. And which storage is better the bag or bottle? I know there's a million out there I would like youre opinions because i don't know which to choose. I also like glass better then plastic.
3126253 tn?1345384121 bobby pillow, Pump, extra cups, (the cups you put over your breasts while pumping) medela steam bags for sterilizing pumping supplies. Storage containers for breast milk, nursing pads, (I liked the washable ones better than the disposable ones.) nursing bras.
Avatar f tn I pumped nd stored sum breast milk in the refrigerator nd forgot to label the date I think its been in there a lil over a week my son has his doc app tomorrow nd I shall be given it to him then will it be still safe or should I throw it out??
Avatar f tn Baby on breast will save you time pumping, cleaning supplies, buying expensive supplies such as bottles, breast pump, sterilizer bags, breast milk storage, dish detergent, cleaning racks, cleaning baskets, etc. (even though if you don't plan on using a pump, I still recommend a manual one just in case you need to leave your baby and a few bottles.) Whereas breast feeding from the breast gives you a special bond with your child. There is a lot of research out there about it.
8023513 tn?1404352955 Personal care items such as breast pads, lanolin (or another brand nipples cream), a few nursing bras. I used milk storage bags for expressed milk as they're easier to store than the small bottles you can buy. I used a good nursing pillow...absolute god send when hours spent breastfeeding! I think that's pretty much all I needed.
