The factors associated with high myopia include premature birth or low birth weight, heredity, racial characteristics, prolonged near work, not going outdoors often as
youth. The IOP always fluctuates, varying from hour to hour with about a 6-8 point range in normal non glaucoma eyes to as much as 10-20 in glaucoma or glaucoma suspect eyes. The vitreous liquifes faster in high myopia but IOP is not a factor in this.
