273955 tn?1196448802 Hello. Your symptoms are too many to be explained by Parkinson's disease only. Parkinson’s disease can co-exist with MS. But there are rare cases of both the disease affecting a person simultaneously. The tremors could be one of the neurological symptoms of MS. The tremors of PD are called as "pill-rolling" tremors. They are about 4-6 Hz in frequency. You can try to count the frequency of tremors. The MRI of the brain in PD is mostly normal.
Avatar f tn Any suggestions on holistic approach to Tx. Parkinson's Disease? What are some MJFox's alleviating PD method?
Avatar f tn Hi Cessy - Welcome to the group. Both MS and Parkinson's are neurological diseases with notproof positive test. I would thinbk to the untrained eye they might be mistaken for each other. One diagnostic tool used for MS is MRI. There are more often than not visible lesions in the central nervous system on MS folks. I'm not sure the same is tru of Parkinson's. Initially MS is a relapsing - remitting disease. Symptoms flare up and then subside for extended periods of time.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm am 29 years old, and i seem to be going through something wierd in my life, it all started with twitch in my middle finger, it soon progressed into a slight tremor in my left hand, i noticed it when I was drinking a beer.
Avatar n tn Are you still in prison? Do you have a lawyer if you are? if you don't, there are lawyers who work for free for people like you. If you're not psychotic, these drugs are not for you -- they're very hard for people who are psychotic to take, which is why they so often have a hard time staying on them. It sounds like you may not have a mental issue at all, but of course I don't know you or why you're in jail.
Avatar n tn Hi, Parkinson's disease is a chronic, progressive neurodegenerative movement disorder. Tremors, rigidity, slow movement (bradykinesia), poor balance, and difficulty walking (called parkinsonian gait) are characteristic primary symptoms of Parkinson's disease. There is no particular age for the occurance of the disease . There have been cases diagnosed with the disease at the age of 18. Please consult a neurologist for further details .
Avatar m tn Thank you friend for your comment.Iam thinking about that because my mother suffers from Parkinson's and has become in the last stage of the disease, although the symptoms began only seven years ago.
969466 tn?1247741539 Hi, Alzheimer’s disease mostly occurs after 60 yrs. Your symptoms of dementia could be due to stress . But the possibility of early symptoms of the disease cannot be overruled . While there is no cure for Alzheimer's disease and no proven treatment to slow its progression, there are a number of medicines available that may help improve the mental function of people with Alzheimer's disease.
Avatar f tn What i need to know is the muscle stiffness and also feeling of weakness and instability in the legs due to pituitary disorder or Parkinson's? How do i go about ascertaining this, could it be due to all the above? I have severe insomnia and generally feel very unwell, very tired, unable to walk far. I am a 56 yr old female who is/was a fitness freak, marathon runner and avid golfer, none of which i can do now.
Avatar f tn The cervical degeneration could be responsible for atleast a few of the symptoms. I would suggest discussing the situation and the suggested management plan in detail with your treating neurologist. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar f tn I am really scared.I need to know what my chances are when it comes to Parkinson's Disease. My grandmother's sister had it and my Rheumy found a tremor in my upper body that is more severe on my right side. I also have muscle spasms in my legs. I have had pins and needles sensations in my hands and other symptoms, however since my mother told me this information about Parkinson's, I have become really anxious about the whole thing. Can someone please help??
Avatar n tn I really hate to say this, but those are early signs of Parkinson's Disease. I have listed the "checklist" of early warning signs below. I hope this is not the case, but the earlier it is diagnosed the better, When a reader of my blog asked about the early warning signs of Parkinson’s Disease (PD), I was caught off guard. I know what full-blown PD looks like, but I’d forgotten what PD might look like before it may even be diagnosed.
Avatar m tn I went to see a N/S this past week and he said he thinks my problem may be that I have Parkinson's disease. He said my symptoms don't seem to be chiari related. He put me on medicine for Parkinson's. Has anyone else been told they had Parkinson's ? Now I have to go see a neurologist next month.Boy I tell it gets better all the time. I'm getting tired of seeing doctors. This will be number 4.
Avatar f tn I've had many Parkinson's Disease symptoms lately such as tremors, loss of concentration, light-headedness, feeling unbalanced when I'm standing up, and slowed movements. I'm barely turning into a teen soon and am scared to tell my parents. I don't know for sure if I do have Parkinson's because I haven't gone to the doctor about it or talked about it with my family. I would really appreciate any advice and help with this matter. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I am currently recovering from a severe depression with suicide ideation in which i apparently had psychotic symptoms. Has anyone else had psychosis without knowing what it was until speaking to your therapist about what was going on? and does anyone have any advice as to what to look for in oneself when psychosis starts?
Avatar n tn Is it possible that I have Parkinson's all these years? No never been tested..
410281 tn?1254229064 Thanks all for your comments. I am on Mirapex for restless leg and periodic limb movement disorder. I actually woke up yesterday for the first time that I can even remember feeling rested. AND I didn't kick my hubby out of bed. So it must be working for that, which I am very thankful. My concern comes from the research I did on the possible relation to PLMD and Parkinson's and the other symptoms that I have been suffering for over a year now.
Avatar m tn https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11970808 is someone's habit learning ability affected by parkinson's disease? I think the comment in this link is saying that it was affected initially but they were still able to learn habits despite having Parkinson's; is that right?
Avatar n tn The latest research on pathogenesis of disease can be a prior head injury. Exposture to toxins, and Parkinson's disease causes neuropsychiatric disturbances, which include mainly cognition, mood and behavior problems and can be as disabling as motor symptoms. I don't see any connection with PD and hypertension. Its a neurological disorder. Hypertension and high cholesterol is a cardiovascular disorder and are correlated. Thanks for your question...
Avatar f tn It would be extraordinarily rare for Parkinson's to develop at your age, and even more rare still for a person to develop symptoms of Parkinson's in their early 20's, when you noticed the onset of symptoms. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/parkinsons-disease/symptoms-causes/syc-20376055 This article also explains the symptoms, some of which you're not having at all, but are highly characteristic of Parkinson's.
