Avatar f tn I am currently recovering from a severe depression with suicide ideation in which i apparently had psychotic symptoms. Has anyone else had psychosis without knowing what it was until speaking to your therapist about what was going on? and does anyone have any advice as to what to look for in oneself when psychosis starts?
Avatar n tn Actually if bipolar disorder has psychotic features, the person in question can hear voices from what I know. I also even knew someone with psychotic major depression who heard voices.
Avatar n tn Hearing voices is not a symptom of ADHD or ADD. It is a symptom of some other mental problems, however. The fact that he hears voices, can see people who are not there, and that his brother has the same symptoms means that you should have both children evaluated by a psychiatrist as soon as possible.
12268405 tn?1427853361 You did not create the hallucination of fleas all over, you did not make your symptoms of feeling worthless, paranoid, or hearing voices. These things happened because of the schizophrenia disorder. The newer drug Minocyline, since it is used as an antibiotic, it also reduces inflammation. Lately, the drug treatment world is beginning to think one of the causes of many neuro-type disorders is inflammation! So, you take a drug for it, and there you go!
719785 tn?1232901518 t make any sense and being very excited about it, lots of sentences and words but no meaning, hearing voices, thinking people were out to get him. Does he have any of those symptoms? I think it is strange to up his Prozac for hearing voices. I would agree that he should be evaluated by psychiatrists so that he can get the proper medication to help him. Also, a lot of people who have schizophrenia were very smart as a child hitting their milestones faster than normal.

Avatar m tn ILADVOCATE - I was wondering out of curiosity since you brought it up, did the psychiatrist say exactly how people who hear the thought coming as if from an external source commenting on them don't respond well to treatment? Does the medicine just not work as good or does it work physically like it should but just the symptoms still present themselves anyway?
1965148 tn?1354978634 I started having hallucinations and hearing voices telling me to kill myself and others. I grew very paranoid of other people and became obsessed with the idea of stabbing people in the back of the neck with a kitchen knife. After a couple of days more, I attempted suicide after an impulsive overdose and was landed in hospital, where I got off the medication and the mania/psychotic symptoms went away.
11570509 tn?1422387166 But when I get a headache, the back of my neck/head swells and when it gets bad, I start hearing voices, screeching and loud knocking noises. It also feels as if there are people touching me, pulling at me, my skin crawls like there are ants inside of me. Also I see flashing lights, floaters, my vision gets blurry and distorted as if I am looking into those trick mirrors at carnivals. I am scared of being labeled depressed and psychotic by doctors so I don't say anything.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am interested in receiving detailed information about those who hear voices inside their heads or with their ears. I have recorded the voice I hear on a recorder so I know it's not a medical condition, but yet I have to deal with it. I know of many who do hear voices in their heads and I believe it would be beneficial for myself and others to know the specifics as to how a voice not recognized by a person could possibly be heard inside their head.
3058980 tn?1340515938 I know a lot of bipolar people on seroquel and lamotrigine and have never heard of one breast story from them for example. Although if he is hearing voices without mood swings, sounds a bit more like schizophrenia, or schizo-affective (bipolar + some of the aspects of schizophrenia).
Avatar f tn She also has many other health issues. IShe has recent;y having dilusions (hearing ppl voices). I have no answer to this ..can anyone hep me? She is on a new med seraquil but it hasnt helped. If anyone can help please let me know or email me to ***@****.
Avatar m tn If your really scared of having schizophrenia because of anxiety could you make up the schizophrenia symptoms yourself?? For example if someone with anxiety fears of hearing voices could they imagen the voices themselves in their head and think they have schizophrenia even do its just them imagining the voices because their so anxious??? I hope you guys understand. Thanks for your comments......
765473 tn?1234639641 t make a diagnosis with this information, but if you are hearing voices and having hallucinations, you definetly need medication, and if that works well, that should be controll the situation for you. Many people have episodes like you describe and they recover totally, so there is no reason to believe this has to be permanent. But if this all came from a fall, and nothing before, then I hope that you have had a very good neurological workup to rule out brain damage.
Avatar f tn t only a symptom of Schizophrenia, having a psychosis symptoms can be related to other mental disorders. I suggest you to check your symptoms, because it might be BPD (Borderline personality disorder) which is a mood disorder and includes some psychosis symptoms such as hallucinations and delusions.
Avatar n tn I had a look at the symptoms for schizophrenia and they were too acute I have never experienced these symptoms, like hearing voices, wanting to commit suicide, hallucinations etc. I have recently 2007 developed a problem with anxiety and paranoia but he wants to remit me as schizophrenic.
Avatar f tn my child is hearing voices in her head. the voices say things like if you close the door you will die, if you tie your shoe you will stop breathing. she is fine in all other areas.she did get sick 2 months ago and now thinks every little symptoms means she is very ill, even though we have had her checked by a dr. my husband thinks it is nothing to worry about. she does not believe the voices, but i do not know what to .
Avatar n tn Depression with psychotic features is when a person has psychotic thoughts only during mood fluctuations. With schizoaffective disorder psychotic thoughts or auditory hallucinations (hearing voices) can occur at any time. But as to how to look at it I'd say look at it as I do, I am a person with a psychiatric disability and I need treatment as part of my recovery. See it as a positive step up in life and keep going from there.
629641 tn?1368569578 Sometimes I hear voices, but what I hear doesn't seem to be talking to me; it's more of a boring lecture going on in the background. Often it sounds like my mother. The sound of the voice always causes bored annoyance. I have not tried to tune in and understand what the words are; I believe it's lectures that I've heard in the past or other uninteresting information.
Avatar f tn I will frequently do things like check my ears to make sure I am not hearing voices. I have even thought i heard my name being called when my anxiety was sky high, which only fed into my fears. I go so far as to ask ridiculous questions to myself that i know a psychotic person would say yes to but that I dont to assuage my fears (e.g. Do I believe the government is sending signals to my brain?). Please help. Has anyone with anxiety ever had these kinds of fears?
Avatar n tn She is seeing help and is being treated, and was diagnosed with bipolar 2 and mania. She recently has begun hearing voices telling her to kill one of her friends, and telling her that someone wants to hurt her. I'm only fourteen, her parents dont care - they wont pay attention if anyone says something. If we tell the school shell be sent away immidiately, does she really need that? she is convinced the voices are magic. what do i do? i cant let her hurt herself or anyone else...
603015 tn?1329862973 Well "hearing voices" (auditory hallucinations) and paranoia are more psychosis than bipolar so perhaps its bipolar with psychotic features. As per myself I know well what hypomanic is. I experienced that before recovery and in the brief period in between Clonidine and Zofran. On a hypomanic day I would go to the city and buy a lot of cd's and chat with the record store clerks I hardly knew and everything appeared like it was rushing at me and like it was the best day I ever had.
739988 tn?1386672969 When someone has psychotic thoughts they are rarely pleasent and are usually the thoughts they would not want to hear. Auditory hallucinations ("hearing voices") are like that. I did ask my psychopharmocologist before recovery when I heard voices and he confirmed that although clinically they don't know why yet. If you are hearing voices you might want to speak to your psychiatrist about having your medication adjusted.
Avatar n tn my son is thirteen year old (a little fat) and today he first tme he complains about hearing voices like somebody shouting or appealing or voice of an insect . Iam worried as his father is suffering from schizo .Please help me whato do.
