Avatar f tn Hey all, my name is Daniel and I'm 21 years young. In about 2011 or so (i was like 17 I wanna say) I was perscribed Lamotrigine for bipolar disorder. Taking that medication seems to have been the stupidest thing I've ever done in my life. Or, the most coincidental occurance I've ever heard of. Just a week after tapering daily to the regular dose, I began to feel what I called "crippling anxiety".
Avatar n tn I have had this affliction for 38 years and ice packs were the only thing that helped. I tried cannabis infused coconut oil (1 teaspoon at night) and have been itch free for over 8 months. My neurologist tried 21 different medications on me, some were heavy anti-psychotic crossover meds that really made me feel horrible. I never thought in a million years that cannabis would help eliminate my itching. There is also another product that will give you temporary relief.
Avatar n tn There has been no method nor program that has helped me, it has been a combination of things touching ever aspect of my life. Now, my drug of choice is opiates, so there is the stronger physical addiction, but cannabis also has mild withdrawal symptoms, compared to most drugs. With bipolar, mild is a relative term. It is not the physical addiction you are battling, at 30 days you were past all that, it is the mental addiction and self-medicating of bipolar, or that's what I was doing.

Avatar n tn How long does this psychotic behavior last? And is the psychotic behavior as a result of withdrawal. I have been using Cranberry Juice to flush it out of my son's system. He is not bipolar for he does not get sad. Bipolars get sad, not angry. My son never gets sad. He gets psychotic from good mood to psychotic mood in a split second within a conversation. I, the mother, is always on eggshells with him.
Avatar n tn I don't drink too often and I've only been room-spinning drunk once before. I've smoked marijuana multiple times but hadn't taken it orally prior to this occasion. On this occasion I had just had a large meal and I drank about 8 shots of Jack Daniel's (one every few minutes) and ate half a pot-brownie (I'm not sure how it was made, etc.) prior to drinking and half after. Hours after all of this I went to sleep (after passing out a few times).

1965148 tn?1354978634 Hey Elinah, I have experienced two psychotic manic episodes after being put on antidepressants. They both lasted at least a week. It started out as a feeling of increased euphoria, racing thoughts, confidence boost, insomnia and impulsiveness. These symptoms progressed and got more intense as time went on, and after a few days my thoughts began to turn sinister. I started having hallucinations and hearing voices telling me to kill myself and others.
Avatar n tn What i mean to say is that you may have physical symptoms associated with the anxiety of quitting cannabis especially if doing so cold-turkey. I keep my eyes out all the time, or affective mood stabilizers and antidepressants, so I can help my firends and relatives, who suffer from these types of symptoms, as well. I have to admit, I havent really heard of anything so great, yet? But a riend just told me sheis happy with a psych med called "Trazadone", I havent looked it up, so I dont know the spelling.

Avatar m tn I've started the use of interferon and ribapak six weeks ago. My symptoms are seemingly consistence with others I've talked to whom have gone thru the use of these drugs. My question is the use of marijuana for getting rid of the body aches and general weakness brought on by the use of interferon and ribapak. I don't smoke, I ingest marijuana in chocolate brownies which seemingly work better than acetaminophen.

Avatar f tn Marijuana is commonly used to alleviate symptoms of epilepsy and to help with symptoms of seizures and vertigo. It can not cause you to have a seizure by 'smoking too much of it' This is fear mongering and very ill informed. It can most likely help quite a bit. A good choice though for lungs to not get affected by cheap 'wraps' and 'papers' it would be to invest in a vaporizer.
