Avatar n tn Well, I'm not sure about that. Antipsychotics don't work right away. Tranquilizers do. Antipsychotics, if they do work, work all the time. Tranquilizes only work for a short period of time and then wear off. If she took this as an antipsychotic injection, it would be during an emergency situation but she would have to take the shots for several months and then go on the medication for longer than that.
Avatar n tn Severe pain in my legs started an hour after the test, and since then I have had severe pain in my legs for the last five hours. os there any connectio?
Avatar f tn im seventeen years old and have suffered from this horror for about five monthes now. the fact is i know i cant be gay , that gay feelings dont just pop up out of the blue when you are seventeen but the thoughts in my head drive me crazy. some days think it would be better just to die. i have never been in a sexual relationship as my religion prohibits premarital relationships, teenage relationships are very frowned upon. but i have always like boys and never had any gay thoughts preceding this.
Avatar f tn My doctor changed my medicine to another anti-psychotic, and my pupils stopped getting large.
Avatar f tn His doctor insists that the mental deterioration is a new symptom, but I am concerned it is more likely a drug interaction side effect. The use of anti-psychotic medications began about January 2008, when the patient (who had been taking Effexor, Paxil, and Xanax for mild depression, anxiety and insomnia) had a first-time ever episode of manic-type symptoms: racing thoughts, extreme insomnia, panic, and distorted thinking.

Avatar f tn Major Depressiom (recurent) with Psychotic features , Panic Disoder, Agoraphobia, and either Bipolar or high-functioning Schizophrenic. My panic attacks are trigged by derealizaion, depersonalizatuon, and psychosis. I began toaking Risperidone (Risperdal) for a few days. Beforre I took the medicine, I had been having psychotic breaks. For the most part, the mediine help my mind slow down, but my psychosis is bad. When I get into a qiuet room, or place that's where the ems begin.
Avatar n tn I haven't had a reaction to medicine for clearing up a sinus infection, but I definitely have had anxiety while having a sinus infection. I believe it s due to some of the symptoms with difficulty breathing, etc. Some of the symptoms mimic anxiety so your brain can get tricked then you over analyze your symptoms and it brings out some anxiety. The steroids could definitely be causing some extra anxiety as well.
Avatar m tn It was about 4 yrs ago and my count was running around ten, then in a matter of 2-3 days it dropped to 4, that caused a bit of a bad reaction. In the E.R. and five units of blood. The E.R doc gave me something to stimulate bone marrow.
Avatar m tn Due to going psychotic on Lithium and having flat affect from Lamictal, I have been off all meds for several months now. My Psychotic Break a year ago this month lead me to try meds, but quite them, once I felt stable enough. I went to see my doctor and discovered I have 3 fractured vertebrae in my back, which explains a lot, my physical limitations trigger me.
Avatar f tn I would say at this point he is psychotic. If he has psychotic breaks at periodic intervals that can happen from say bipolar with psychotic features but only a psychiatrist can provide a diagnosis but at this point he should see one now. When someone has day to day variances of what they think of a person entirely (with nothing else changing) that can be a sign of concern as well.
Avatar f tn ve been diagnosed bipolar for about 2 years. I get horrible depression because of my bipolar. I recently had a really bad reaction to pot. REALLY bad. I almost killed myself, screamed at my friends, and vomited for 2 days. No one else that smoked it had a bad reaction. I haven't had a medication change recently. I'm on lamictal, seroquel, wellbutrin, cymbalta, and adderall. I don't know what happened. It wasn't laced or else everyone would have gotten sick.
Avatar f tn finally i went to medicine department doc gave paracep nd said to rest...blood test was done n36 l45 n17 e2 b0 tlc 9000pml, pt count 210000pml , esr 18....then i developed runny nose and coughing persisting for four days....neglected it and continued to give semesters.... finally i went home but the pain in the upper extreimy persists(throbbing, stabbing , radiating) and the vertigo still persists ...goes on and off the day...really saddening....i showed two neurologists recently ...
Avatar n tn I suppose anyone can have a strange reaction to something but I've never heard of marijuana producing a psychotic reaction. People will have their underlying mood exaggerated by it, so if your son is anxious marijuana might make him more so. Much more so. And that can set off conditioned thinking, so such people should avoid it. But it sounds like something else to me or what you're describing isn't accurate, just an acute thing going on between the two of you.
Avatar m tn Last week I averaged 3 to 5 hours sleep every night and felt best in years. However I had no delusions. Sunday I had nothing to do so went to bed and slept the whole day though it wasnt cause I was crashing from overtired. Now past days I am back to miserable sleeping 8 hours past few nights. So Im wondering if I truly am just a natural short sleeper or bipolar even though I never get mania as for two years I havent had a manic episode. Can anyone relate? Thanks.
Avatar m tn I just had one on mothers day this is what I went through: My mind was racing with different thoughts especially work. I had been under alot of stress from work, I am a supervisor and I felt like I was in my own world for a few days in a daze, nervous, nightmares, angry, frustrated, ready to quit my job, an overwhelming uncontrollable feeling of just running away.
Avatar f tn So my roommate (who is also my good friend) got this cat before I moved in when she was around 4 months old. I moved in when she was five months old and instantly we shared a bound and she basically became mine. I've spent the last 4 months being the one to feed her, play with her, take care of her litter box, and give her attention and cuddles/pettings.
1965148 tn?1354978634 can anyone share their experiences with psychotic mania or bipolar with psychotic features? i have no idea where mine are heading but they are here, and they are not backing down.

428506 tn?1296557399 ve had near constant difficulty concentrating, and can not determine if that is a symptom in and of itself, or a reaction to the other symptoms. All of my symptoms get worse when I lie down. The harder the mattress, the faster I experience stronger symptoms. If I get up, I improve quickly. Not that I feel good when upright, just less bad. I've been taking neurontin for a couple of months and it takes the edge off.
