Well, I'm not sure about that. Antipsychotics don't work right away. Tranquilizers do. Antipsychotics, if they do work, work all the time. Tranquilizes only work for a short period of time and then wear off. If she took this as an antipsychotic injection, it would be during an emergency situation but she would have to take the shots for several months and then go on the medication for longer than that.

ve been diagnosed bipolar for about 2 years. I get horrible depression because of my bipolar. I recently had a really bad reaction to pot. REALLY bad. I almost killed myself, screamed at my friends, and vomited for 2 days. No one else that smoked it had a bad reaction. I haven't had a medication change recently. I'm on lamictal, seroquel, wellbutrin, cymbalta, and adderall. I don't know what happened. It wasn't laced or else everyone would have gotten sick.

Look back and see—there must be something in common-dust, animal dander, some flowers in area, particular trees in the area—something that is common to all attacks of hives. Apart from the normal allergens which you must have been tested for—possibility of H pylori infection and Crohn’s disease should be looked into. In Crohn’s arthritis and skin symptoms may precede actual development of gut symptoms. Please discuss with your treating doctor. Take care!

I have bipolar 1 with psychotic features. Is there any anti psychotic that doesn't make you gain weight? I am on risperdal consta 25 mg, and I have gained 35 pounds in 10 months. I am not on any other medication, and yet I keep on gaining weight. Does all the anti psychotic make you gain weight? Is there any anti psychotic that doesn't make you gain weight?

I am glad the situation turned out well. In case this horse has a habit of biting people, I would move him to a stall where he cannot hang his head out.

Has anyone out there had a Psychotic Reaction to Lexapro during first week of treatment? I was given it for acute anxiety, within 24 hrs it crashed my into depression, I have suffered mild attacks of depression in the past, but nothing like this.

I knew I was pregnant, well my horse knew I was and her reaction to me tipped me off. Have two horses that are so attached to each other that when you remove one to ride or anything the other gets worried. After I was pregnant (before the test) when I would go into the paddock with these two, my mare Angie (have had since I was 9 years old, 24 now) would run over and sniff my stomach and then would stand between me and the other horse Flash my male.

This has been a wet Fall in Florida and there is some standing water in a few sections of the area. Apparently her horse liked to go into this water and that is how it got the fungus. Is there anything that one can do to eliminate the fungus that causes Pythiosis?

I suppose anyone can have a strange reaction to something but I've never heard of marijuana producing a psychotic reaction. People will have their underlying mood exaggerated by it, so if your son is anxious marijuana might make him more so. Much more so. And that can set off conditioned thinking, so such people should avoid it. But it sounds like something else to me or what you're describing isn't accurate, just an acute thing going on between the two of you.

On April 2nd I made the decision to admit myself to a psychiatric hospital due to a psychotic episode. The thing that I'm having the hardest time comprehending is if I induced the episode or not. I convinced myself that I was covered in fleas, I heard voices saying my name and calling me worthless in the past, & I experienced paranoia. I don't know what to think right now. 5 which I feel fine.. As of late I have been waking up with what my friend believes is psychotic episodes, moments of ultra confusion for me as I usually have no recolection. Not every breakdown is psychotic. I had a complete mental breakdown about 16 years ago or so which lead to 3 years of crushing depression - my illness course leaves me prone to this type of breakdown. However not being on meds? Dont know - i went nearly 15 years not on meds and i thought i was fine until I wasnt and went psychotic manic, so you might be fine for a long time as well. And I wasnt fine, I was hypomanic and looking back had at least 3 mini breakdowns and burnouts in that time.

My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? So about a month ago I was holding this horse who decided to take off and I got some major rope burn. I cleaned it with soap and water and put neosporin on it and wrapped it with sterile gauze. I continued to do this till probably a week ago when it was closed up and pretty much healed. Now, it has started itching and is covered in blisters! The blisters are around and on the healed wound area. they seem to be getting worse. They don't seem to be spreading just on the wound area.

I really cant help if after the birth of her last baby, if she wasnt put on an antidepressant, and shes not having a bad reaction. News says she is in hospital now and try are trying to get a court order to force her to take the meds which she is currently refusing. Keep seeing the p work, psychotic, sort gets me worried. I don't see myself as psychotic. My doctor doesn't think I'm psychotic, I think he just thinks that when I'm very depressed I can get this way. His heart rate kept dropping very very low and I had a reverse reaction to the epidural which made me ask them to get rid of it and at this point I was dilated at an 8 so it was pretty painful but because of his heart rate we had to do an emergency c section but he's healthy as a horse :)
