psychotic

Avatar m tn It feels like a taught metal cord has been snapped, like a thick base guitar string but the sound does not linger. Its a metallic sound and I can almost feel it when it happens. I never suffered any trauma to by head or ears. I have seen my GP, neurosurgeon, ENT and there appears to be no structural damage. No brain tumor. Nothing that shows up on imaging. I always forget to ask the neuro and plan on doing so next wee.
Avatar f tn My doctor changed my medicine to another anti-psychotic, and my pupils stopped getting large.
4100205 tn?1349787589 May be you are growing an early callus possibly relating to your guitar. Alternate diagnosis would be pompholyx relating to fungus elsewhere.ok?
Avatar n tn Well, I'm not sure about that. Antipsychotics don't work right away. Tranquilizers do. Antipsychotics, if they do work, work all the time. Tranquilizes only work for a short period of time and then wear off. If she took this as an antipsychotic injection, it would be during an emergency situation but she would have to take the shots for several months and then go on the medication for longer than that.
Avatar f tn ve been diagnosed bipolar for about 2 years. I get horrible depression because of my bipolar. I recently had a really bad reaction to pot. REALLY bad. I almost killed myself, screamed at my friends, and vomited for 2 days. No one else that smoked it had a bad reaction. I haven't had a medication change recently. I'm on lamictal, seroquel, wellbutrin, cymbalta, and adderall. I don't know what happened. It wasn't laced or else everyone would have gotten sick.
Avatar f tn I have bipolar 1 with psychotic features. Is there any anti psychotic that doesn't make you gain weight? I am on risperdal consta 25 mg, and I have gained 35 pounds in 10 months. I am not on any other medication, and yet I keep on gaining weight. Does all the anti psychotic make you gain weight? Is there any anti psychotic that doesn't make you gain weight?
Avatar n tn I was recently diagnosed with having asthma after a near fatal reaction to an antibiotic. It just started out of nowhere. I've lived in the same town my whole life and no change in living conditions. My doctor prescribed me Pro Air HFA. Immediately I was using it more than the recommended amounts. It makes me very jittery and makes my hands shake. When I came in I was told to keep using it and then prescribed Qvar. The Qvar gave me debilitating headaches.
952564 tn?1268368647 Not just the weight gain but also the possibility of permanent twitching. Not only that but also I have had a majorly bad reaction to anti-psychotic medication and I can't remember what medication that was. I have attempted to get the name of the medication from both the hospital where it was prescribed and my OB/GYN at the time who knew I was on it. Both sources have failed to contact me back and it has been 3 weeks.
Avatar n tn This question is complicated by the fact that you apparently are psychotic. If you are, then you need to see your psychiatrist about this and perhaps change medications. A psychiatrist can also tell you what might be safe to take with this drug. Antipsychotics generally affect dopamine, and dopamine controls a lot of our motor functions, so it's often a cause of nerve problems or involuntary movements. If you're not in fact psychotic, you may be on too much drug for what ails you.
Avatar n tn You can definitly have a psychotic episode while you are bipolar. And you keep mentioning a possible lack of sleep. That is a major trigger for mania, and mania can lead to hallucinations, etc. You may be right on the verge of a manic episode and need to calm it down before it spirals upwards. I hate to say go to your doctor, but unless you have something that has worked in calming you down and letting you get some more rest, I would make a phone call to the doctor.
268911 tn?1213744781 Guitar hero update. I beat "Same old song and dance" now I'm on "Welcome to the jungle" I LOVE THAT SONG! By the way...I'm on the "difficult" level....next is expert.
518031 tn?1295575374 I'm not a lead guitar fan and can't stand guitar solos or jam sessions...I love the bass and rhythm guitar the best....so my vote is for Paul McCartney for bass.....
Avatar n tn I'm not sure pinched nerves are caused by guitar playing. I've also been playing guitar for about that long, but I have no pinched nerves from it. I am, however, wracked with pain from other things, and if you do have pinched nerves it's likely the posture we assume when we play the guitar, with too much neck bending.
Avatar f tn It may be a reaction to the mediation you took. I was on an antibiotic that burned my tongue and tongues heal very fast--but this took 3 weeks! For relief I rinsed my mouth with organic coconut oil (may or may not be wise-I have no idea) but it took the pain away for a bit.
Avatar f tn Has anyone out there had a Psychotic Reaction to Lexapro during first week of treatment? I was given it for acute anxiety, within 24 hrs it crashed my into depression, I have suffered mild attacks of depression in the past, but nothing like this.
Avatar f tn ve had the worse anxiety ever this past week and have posted on this forum a few times. (wanted to jump out a window yesterday) Played Guitar Hero for about an hour in the morning and I must say it helped the symptoms some...couldn't focus on the chest pain as much while trying to beat my husband at this stupid game! I AM going to make an appt with my dr. for sometime this week hopefully to discuss this severe increase in anxiety.
738075 tn?1330575844 I played between sets last Saturday night after practicing my 3 songs during the day a couple of times.Well, I played like s#!t! My fingers just weren't keeping up with my brain, and I was making just one R hand mistake after another. Spastic, fatigued, numbed. I learned when I was a little kid to keep the tempo the same, even through mistakes, and many people won't even notice. But _I_ noticed! I hate this feeling of loosing my guitar ability.
Avatar f tn This evening a relative used my guitar right before me. My guitar strings press extremely hard into the skin and I think I may have some tiny cuts on my fingers(still hurt hours later) and I suspect that my relative may have done the same. If he has HIV wouldn't this warrant Post exposure prophylaxis?
Avatar n tn I suppose anyone can have a strange reaction to something but I've never heard of marijuana producing a psychotic reaction. People will have their underlying mood exaggerated by it, so if your son is anxious marijuana might make him more so. Much more so. And that can set off conditioned thinking, so such people should avoid it. But it sounds like something else to me or what you're describing isn't accurate, just an acute thing going on between the two of you.
12268405 tn?1427853361 On April 2nd I made the decision to admit myself to a psychiatric hospital due to a psychotic episode. The thing that I'm having the hardest time comprehending is if I induced the episode or not. I convinced myself that I was covered in fleas, I heard voices saying my name and calling me worthless in the past, & I experienced paranoia. I don't know what to think right now. I wish I could know if I made the symptoms worse or not...
1965148 tn?1354978634 can anyone share their experiences with psychotic mania or bipolar with psychotic features? i have no idea where mine are heading but they are here, and they are not backing down.
Avatar m tn my 22 year old son just experienced a psychotic break. I need to understand how he was feeling. Is there anyone who has personally experienced this, and would be willing to describe what you felt? I am desperate to understand what he is going through.
