607502 tn?1288247540 I identified I am fully recovered from glycine a Phase II anti-psychotic in FDA study from schizoaffective disorder. And there are treatments in study for bipolar disorder as well. Here's a link that updates itself: http://www.psychmeds123.info/ I would suggest what I do.
Avatar f tn I find an increase in paranoid / delusional thinking and other psychotic/ anxiety symptoms too just before a period. The GP wanted to treat it with a contraceptive injection, but I refused and am now trying to control it with alternative methods, although I do take an antipsychotic for bipolar anyway which must help a bit. My CPN said that she has come accross several examples where this has happened to people, so you're not alone.
Avatar f tn FYI - I added a translator to my web blog because so many people messaged me from other countries. You guys are so sweet to help. Just like always...
4489852 tn?1375753951 This is not a question, but I wanted to post my blog on here for other people to read if they wanted to. I had a hard time finding a chiari blog that was kept up to date and was current, so I wanted to start one not only so that i could have record of everything, but also so that other people could read my story and see that they are not alone in this fight. This is the blog I started in April.
1853014 tn?1340038575 I think this is the blog you are talking about. It is excellent. You can see there are many, many pages of valuable information. Plus it is written very well and has some humor too. http://hep-free.
Avatar f tn If you find the right medications, therapy and support from people it is something people can recover from and learn to live with. Its important just to see it as a part of your life. Not one you wanted of course. But one you cope with. If your father has severe depression and nothing is helping him find out what else is out there is the way of treatment. Here's a good resource for mood disorders: http://www.psycom.net/depression.central.
Avatar f tn In females real psychotic disorders tend to appear later than in men, who are starting to get symptoms between adolescence and early adulthood. In psychotic disorder medication is a very good way to treat symptoms. Therapy is always a plus.
2052200 tn?1332429084 Hi, I need to know what to do about the visual and audio hallucinations I have been experiencing. From 7 to around 10 years old, I experienced visual, audio and tactile hallucinations (hearing the piano playing in the middle of the night, feeling bugs crawling all over me, seeing the ceiling falling down, seeing letters all over the walls etc). My mother just thought it was night terrors and didn't do anything about it as they stopped when I was about 10.
1149221 tn?1304827966 Okay ladies, I don't know how many are first time moms, but I wanted to make a suggestion that no one made to me. Number one, JOURNAL AWAY!... write in a journal... write EVERYTHING in a journal. I didn't keep very good track of how I felt and what was happening with my first son and I regret it. Second suggest: Write letters to the baby. I once read a story of a mom who's daughter hit the teen years and screamed the classic "YOU NEVER LOVED ME!
Avatar f tn Im not saying men r gonna be men n let it go. If my husband did that I wouldn't...but all I'm saying is some men do stupid stuff. So confront him or let it go. Either way its gonna be a pain. But I agree with the previous post he should have more respect for u!
Avatar f tn I had seen a post by ILADVOCATE about a study he participated in and recovered from schizoafffective disorder. I did read that psychotic symptoms in SD may persist and felt maybe this is what my daughter is.Maybe ILADVOCATE can tell me more about this and the antipsychotic he was on. I have read that glycine helps the MNDR(I may have these letters mixed up) receptors function better and may help psychosis. Where can I get more information about glycine therapy and will medicaid pay for it?
Avatar f tn It is worse when she gets upset. Reading is almost impossible because she says the letters are moving, worse on the computer. I don't know if this is a new developing symptom, a med side affect or what? Does anyone have similar symptoms?
Avatar n tn Hello, I am now 10 days out from cataract surgery on my right eye. I was to have distance lenses I still cannot see distance it is blurry. I can see close up but letters shadow. Did my doctor put in the wrong lens?

Avatar m tn s the world, but she keeps everything very secretive - from family and from her doctor! I hope that your son gets a good psychiatrist, because counseling/therapy is so-o important, just as important as the proper medication! If you need someone to chat with just message me! I wish you the very best ... take care!
Avatar m tn My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? Has anyone ever had one of these? Also is there anyone here that has had several months of severe anxiety, then slowly goes back to several months of calm? I'm afraid this feeling will last forever. Just to make sure I'm experiencing this "anxiety" what does it feel like to u all?
Avatar n tn At the request of his mother, I started a correspondence with a friend from high school when I learned that he had gone to prison for minor drug charges. He had fallen in with a rough crowd after his dad died and his mom moved the family over a few counties to be closer to her folks. At first the letters were about encouragement and support for his future after prison. But over time, after I wrote to him that I had come out, the letters started to become sexualized.
Avatar f tn Do all people with bipolar or any other mental illnesses suffer from a breakdown? I for one never had one. I was speaking to a social worker and he told me in my case it may because I have the support or maybe I have some sort of control that enables me to make it pass the days. He also seem surprise because I am not on meds. I told him they bring on any attacks and make them worst. So I just been going on a day to day basis.
